Roland SH-4d - a 17' Random Jam from Scratch!

Just wanted to show you how reliable can be the Roland SH-4d when coming about a spontaneous jam and what the result would be.
Sure - almost from scratch - since I have chosen from my patches that I already made for my (other) projects.
But finding a proper sound it's not just hard with this machine!
You probably know, from my older videos, that I had the Roland SH-32 - but what you don't know is that I regret not keeping it - because of its "too raw" sound for me at that time. Ignorant boy!
So I really wanted the SH-4d, because it reminds me of it and because I wanted a companion for my Roland Jupiter-Xm.
Great machine for quick ideas, sketches and also as a backing voice and most important you can pull out some crazy percussions by layering two of 481 factory sounds.
So, here it is my 17 minutes jam, that is showing how quick you can setup 4 tracks with drums to have some fun!
Hope you'll enjoy this first presentation and stay tuned for more #ambient #rolandsh4d projects with my signature!

This synth definitely seems to have a touch more mojo than most of the other boutique boxes Roland has been churning out.
With one of these you could get on a flight to Australia and have an album done by the time you get there.
    Provided you’d packed enough double A’s 😂

Is it just me or is that what the Electribe 2/3 should have been/should be like.

The ambient counterpart to the hard techno of the TR8s. Guess which I prefer??

The SH-4d is ment to be used (as its predecesors: the MC series) by chaining patterns. Here’s just one pattern, so yeah… Thanks for watching!

Did you record the second part at a lower scale rate, and then bump it up? If so, is there a tech reason? Due to the non, non-quantized recording, maybe? at around 3:25

    • @AlbaEcstasy
      @AlbaEcstasy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

No, I just forgot to set the right scale rate before recording it!

I love mine and barely scratched the surface.
If you don’t mind me asking what stand is that?
It’s sitting at the perfect angle imo 🤙

Shame it sounds so vintage. Keep hearing Jean Michel-Jarre.. if only it had the sounds contained in the elektron digitakt and digitune.. would be perfect given the expanded polyphony etc over those elektron machines..
