This is such an awesome video. I'm a Subie enthusiast. I've got a 2017 Crosstrek and it's doing great, I'd also like to add a new ascent but if i could get a more robust one
You guys seemed to have a great time. Been down to the Pine Barrens several times to off-road through Wharton State Park, but I haven’t come across this beauty. Do you guys have the coordinates of where I can find these trails? Thank you and hope to see more videos and also get there one day to enjoy them too.
I got the Rigid Armor. I like it, but it's rusted a LOT since I got it. The guy says he's coating them thicker now, but, I haven't seen the newest version. Mine is literally #2, and is one of a kind. The new ones aren't exactly mine (refined a bit). It's here. www.rigid-armor.com/shop/subaruascentsparetirecarrier You'll recognize the car in the promo photos, I'm sure, lol!
Hi Bryan! Join us in MtnRoo Tri-State, and come on one of our adventures!!! facebook.com/groups/mtnrootristate I was running an Anderson Design 1" spacer lift at the time (I'm now running a custom lift made from off-the-shelf parts and some custom CNC'd spacers I made). Tires are currently Falken Wildpeak AT3W's (BFG KO2's in the video - don't waste your money on KO2's). Wheels are Liquid Metal Shadow's, but, because of limited caliper clearance, you need someone who really knows how to balance tight wheel configurations. My setup is an exact match to OEM width, circumference and weight range.
Love the show 👏🏽 can’t wait for my ascent to be ordered. If anyone has an accent please message me because I have a few questions 😅 if anyone doesn’t have a problem with that
Well, I have an Ascent, obviously... lol!!! And, I know them inside and out... feel free to message me on my Facebook page, and I will gladly answer any questions you have: facebook.com/SubaruAmbassadorRobert/
Thanks!!! Thank goodness I don't have a CVT. 😉 🤣 _(inside joke, folks! it's got a beastly TR690 CVT)_ She's such a beast!!! I am having so much fun with the Ascent! Can't wait for another 2 inches off off-roading lift.
Lol, there was something buried in the brush that's sticking out on the right at the 5m13s mark. Didn't want to chance a sidewall in that spot since I'm too heavy for anyone else there to drag out of the ruts.
Awesome vid!! Is there anyway to contact you about where the trail is? I live in Northern NJ and want to expand my trail riding places. Do I need to purchase any type of pass to go riding the trails? or is it free and just running from the cops lol
Hi, no running from cops, lol!!! Just look up Wharton State Park, and Brendan T. Byrne State Park in NJ, and search for their road maps. Roads are opened and closed at various times during the year (and when closed, marked at the road head or an intersection, or gated off, or sometimes both). Most are generally open. We only travel on legal roads and trails, or in off-roading parks. Both NY and NJ will have signs on some of the roads and trails that indicate what they're allowed to be used for. Just make sure none forbid vehicular traffic. And, just make sure you know what time the parks or roads close. Anyway, Mt Misery Road in BTB is a favorite of lots of people.
Yep. Another friend and I pulled the ECU, cleaned and dried it, put everything back together, and he made it home (2 hour drive) fine. He had a bit of cleaning to do. And, of course, he needed a few clips for his front bumper, but, otherwise, all's well.
@@SubaruAmbassadorRobert I ask my Subaru and my date of build is late by 1 week. So SOA said no. I still have all my videos of it smoking, I just want it fix. Other than that I love my Ascent. Do you have any advise on how to fix this white smoke ? I also have gas smell in my oil and it is always overfilled. I know on the forms this is common for some. Peacefrom510 .
It's a prototype of the Rigid Armor (two "i"'s in Rigid) spare tire mount. There's also the RIGD (one "i") swing mount which is easier in various ways, but costs more and is heavier.
Much respect to these low boiz going out into these trails
Keep uploading these, man. I love seeing what my Ascent can do :) if properly equipped, anyway
Thanks! Many more to come!
¡Que chévere ver los Subarus en esas travesías! Y, lo mejor, ver la Evoltis en acción.
Thank you Rob for sharing the vids.

Me too. ❤️

Hi!!! Join us in MtnRoo Tri-State on Facebook, and join us on our next adventure. :-)
This one was off Old Dock Road near Jones Road.
Awesome, I’ll look you guys up. Thank you for that info. Enjoy and hopefully we’ll meet up one day soon.
Amazing!
Love seeing the Ascent out there. I just got my mods done. Mind telling me the spare tire carrier you chose and if you like it?

Was the Foz ok after getting stuck?

@@SubaruAmbassadorRobert good!!! The air intake is nice and high I just wish they’d put the exhaust higher..
Nice ! How has your Ascent held up overall ? Mine starting spewing white smoke .
It's holding up amazing. Breaking 70,000 miles by December.
Did you do the PCV valve recall?

what spare tire mount is that? for the trailer hitch

On which car? I can ask.
