If you have kids, do be wary of going through the tunnels that go through the bottom of the aquarium. When I was there with my 6 yr old niece, she complained about the view. I got down on one knee to talk to her, and looked up..whoa.. the viewing angle from the height of a young child is very distorted due to the manufacturing of the tunnel and how light hits it at a different viewing angle. It nearly gave me the same headache my niece was alluding to. So, just be careful to check on them and feel free to pick them up to have their eye level be the same as yours.
@@Spadoosky my pleasure! Wouldn't have known myself except I had a part time job at a kids store, and I would often kneel down to talk to them at their level, and I instinctively did that for my niece..
I was an intern here in 2022 with the sea lions and seals, and let me tell you, the view of whale sharks and manta rays never felt "normal". Best lunchbreak view ever.
A few years ago I did the whale shark dive there that you can sign up for, as long as you’re a certified diver of course. It was awesome, I dove with the whale sharks, manta rays and more in their main tank. They had us wave to the tourists behind the glass and interact with them. They also gave us a small behind the scenes tour too prior to the dive and furnished everything from the wetsuit to the mask with the dive. The price wasn’t bad either.
We plan to come back again someday soon! The kids wanted to do World Of Coca-Cola but ran out of time. I actually just bought 2 tickets to a christian conference in ATL this September!
I dont get a lot of opportunities to travel outside of seeing family. My husband and I are celebrating our first year wedding anniversary to go to this aquarium next month. I'm a aquarium/ocean fanatic and have my own tanks at home. I've been dying to come here for years and its finally gonna happen!💙🐟🐠🐬🐋🐳
That is a harbor seal, not a sea lion at 8:04 ;) Sea lions will have solid colored fur and will have visible ears and a overall slim look. Harbor seals often have spotted fur and look like chunky water sausages. Great tour of the aquarium, appreciate the in-depth video!
One other piece of the Aquarium to mention is the Oceans Ballroom upstairs! It’s usually less crowded, has tables and chairs for eating and resting AND has a big window for the beluga whales!
I gifted a Beluga Encounter to my daughter for her 16th birthday and she absolutely loved it. She got to have a close encounter with a seal and get in the water and interact with the belugas. Enjoyed your vlog!!
Those Belugas were stolen from the wild by Russian contractors that the aquarium paid - they are living a life torn from their pod, in what is a tiny space compared to their home in the ocean, so your kid can have a fun photo.

@@AdventureIsOutThere Wow, that sounds fun. Yeah, you'll have to go in August or September, in which I would assume the water is at its warmest. I snorkeled with a sea turtle in Hawaii...but I'm not good about keeping the water out of the snorkel. I'll stick to looking behind glass at the aquarium, haha!
At the end of our visit at the ocean, Voyage we saw the whale shark, the manta ray and the green sea turtles all together first, we saw the Manta ray next, we saw the whale shark and last we saw the green sea turtle
Was the deep sea exhibit only on the second floor, was it quite small? Im tryna write a book on a new deep sea exhibit with all things bioluminescent and alien looking. But I imagine it as a big exhibit with real deep sea creatures like the blob fish. Anything you can tell me on the bioluminescent aspect of the aquarium and how big it is/ what it looks like and ur opinion. Thank you!!
I don't think it was too small...i think it was just more informational areas as I would think it is hard to keep deep sea creatures in captivity very well.
It's been several years since I have been to the Georgia Aquarium. I see it has changed and things added that I haven't seen. I know one year we went there on one of my daughters birthday and she got in for free. I wonder if they are still giving free admission to birthday people on the day of their birthday? Did yall go in the World Of Coke while in Atlanta? I have been in there once. However I will say, when the World Of Coke was located by Underground Atlanta way back, many many years ago, I liked the layout of it better than the one there now. Of course if one has never been to the original one by Underground Atlanta, they would never know the differences in the two.
We thought about going by the World of Coke before going to the NFL game we went to, but would have had to rush through it. We are going to go to that next time we go back to Atlanta TCD.

The GA Aquarium contracted with Russia to buy whale sharks and dolphins captured in the wild, stolen from their family groups, specifically with the intent of permanently consigning them to a life of captivity. The aquarium produces daily "dolphin shows" and sells dolphin interactions. These are hallmarks of using animals for profit and has no place in conservation. Spend 5 minutes learning about cetacean brains and you'll understand why these dolphins are living a life you wouldn't wish upon your worst enemy, no matter how "happy" the trainers tell you they are - don't teach kids that wild animals are our play things.
