They are brothers. Basically it's the grown up version of the cute cubs people see when Lions are little. In other words, when people see cubs playing and think it's so cute, this is what that playing (yea, they were a bit agitated with each other) looks like a few years down the road.

Didn't comment on Brothers btw just said it wasn't a disagreement it was more serious than that. Also usually when Brothers Lions Fight it's usually 1vs1 it's not a Gang up because it's a challenge to the other Lion for dominance, the others usually don't care or get minimally involved. When Lions start circling in a Group, that's a Fighting Strategy for taking out the Spine & back Legs, intended to kill opponents not establish Hierarchy.
@jim jones I've seen videos of Majingilanes, Mapogos and various other coalition brothers fight and I've never seen an instance of brothers ganging up on one of their own like this. Fighting to establish hierarchy, to eat first, or for the chance to mate first always happens 1v1. On the other hand, every single real fight I've seen looks exactly like this, with coalition brothers circling a lone male and attempting to go for the spine. Mind sharing a video of the Notch brothers fighting like this? TH-cam search is bringing up nothing.

I don't think it's 5 lions fighting. It's one lion fighting 4 lions. More than likely a territory grab. Very common.

I am relaxed, but statistically it is almost impossible to find five lions and that they all weigh the same (even if they are brothers). In any case, we cannot know their weight without more information available but they aren't over 240-250 kg.
Not even the Notch would be at that weight. And Caesar was about 284 kg.

After 5 or more brothers/coalitions take over a pride they can expel 1 or 2 of the other brothers/members because 5 male lions in a pride would be too many to feed the whole pride. That's why you get splits in male lion coalitions with each covering different territories.
