Enjoyed loads of days mucking around The Knockie and the old mine workings as a kid. Camped a couple of times by the water as well. Great to see it all again. Thanks.
👍 Much appreciated, R A S. Takes me back to my time living in West Lothian, September 1974 until 10 April 1985. Family. Sons, now aged 49 and 45. 💚 I roamed about these haunts, travelling astride my trusty MZ 250 to each location, many a time. Plus, the added bonus of His- and Herstory supplied by you. Also, metal-detecting at the site of the Battle of Linlithgow Bridge (with permission; I treasure the few artefacts I gleaned from those visits). Whatever ... Cool video/upload, and the music is, well, *music to my ears* - loud enough to invigorate me. Pelters welcome! Stay free. Rab 🍻 😎
PS. Circa 1981, my eldest son, Ritchie, and I visited Cairnpapple (courtesy of the old MZ 250). At that time, the gateway to the Interior was open. We went down. It was one of those moments - atmospheric, without needing a runaway imagination. We silently understood and paid our respects, grateful to witness and appreciate. Apologies for rambling on. You have rekindled beloved times. Thank you. Bye for now. Rab 👋
I walk the Ochil hills often and see this area often from the tops ,I work in Bathgate and wonder where the area is .I commute through the Gorge is it anywhere near there ?,great video thanks.
I read on the council website that all this would be in the Ravencraig forest, but I don't know exactly how to find them. We usually go there with the dogs for a walk, but we don't go to the entrance you used. Are we allowed to walk our dogs through the areas you have shown us here? And one more thing - do you know any more secluded place in West Lothian where there is water (lake, pond, any water where dogs can play)? I would like a secluded place where not many people go because one of my dogs is reactive to other dogs and I can't let him off leash. Thanks.
Great useful information especially about mines thanks for sharing
Glad it was helpful regards K
Sure I was a few times there didn’t know actually it was silver mine
