Great video mate. A nice wee trip down memoery lane for me. Flannigans was my first pub ever, and i loved it there. To be fair, most pubs in Bathgate were good back in the 80s. The auld miners was superb on a Sunday for a sing song and the best characters you could ever meet. Its been 40 years since i was last in my hometown, and its changed so much, why have they destroyed the steel yard 😢
@thetone1526 Bathgate was brilliant years ago but I guess it's just the same everywhere. The local clowncil is all about livi and to hell with everyone else. Glad you enjoyed it, I did one of Whitburn and Armadale too, cheers g.

Stayed in dechmont 6 months in the early eighties, can only remember a very modern nightclub called Minsky's on the left corner of whitburn road, a few doors along from a video shop. And a nightclub called Queens up a hill. That's it for me.
First time I’ve seen this George, just remembered the 224 club and hard hill snooker club. Suppose you could have had the Model in Mansfield Street (Kirkton Halls premises) even Boghall Social Club
Hi just to say it’s sad to see so many pubs and clubs close in Bathgate. There are 3 that I remember the miners club. the masons arms. and the star bar great places for a drink 🥃

Aye good, but I know you've left out 3 as far as I know, the hopetoun (or blairs) it was across from the old library, the one down at the lights, I think it was called the royal its now a cafe, and one up the precinct I can't remember it's name and I think there is possibility one more

The cromlech was the first pub i drank in, at 15 lol. Its now the Royal Bar.
