The answer is at the end of the video: instead of relying on unreliable health tricks like detoxification, eat the right diet and exercise. Also, we need to focus on removing lead in our environment.
I think he doesn’t want to eliminate our ability to come to conclusions from all the study’s he mentions. Sometimes there are conflicting studies and biases within studies, so he leaves it up to you to interpret reliability. He mainly compiles and presents the information and lets science speak for itself. Also, often times there is no definitive answer to the question bc there just isn’t enough research. Or the results from a study are way more complex than a simple yes or no.
@@kombinatsiya6000 The answer is actually at the beginning at :23. He explicitly states that you can lose lead through sweat. So, yes, saunas can help you get rid of lead because you'll sweat. But you are also correct - diet and environment are also important.
I'm a guy from Finland and I never clicked a video this quickly! 😅 (but then after watching the video I don't know if sauna really is that beneficial - oh well it sure as hell feels good!)
Hey, could you guys do more videos related to saunas? I'm from Finland and saunas are relatively common here, like almost every household has one. Would be very interesting to learn what are the real health benefits if ther's any.
I run the largest sauna detox group in the world, free on Facebook, and I have studied this issue extensively. There is very good science showing that sweat from a sauna has 16 times more lead in it than is in the urine. You can see the complete study and other studies on saunas and detoxification in our popular group here: facebook.com/groups/saunadetox
I have a sauna in my apartment (quite common in Finland). I use it about 3 days a week. My favorite is taking a cold shower, then going into a hot sauna. I don’t think of it as detoxing, more as just relaxation and fun.
Thank you Dr.Greger for reminding us that stopping pollution, a social/political/economic problem, may be the best answer. We all live down stream from somewhere.
@@terry2play8ball Lol...if only poetry would give us better health! 😊 But actually I did do a poem about mental health called... Depression is just as real as cancer. I'm currently making another video for my son, about autism. 😊
This os so important!!!!! As someone who grew up with a coal furnace in my kitchen, I feel for children who grow up in toxic environments. I wish we were educating ourselves and protecting our health. So grateful for dr Greger.
Judging from earlier videos from Dr Greger, exercise works better against depression than most drugs, since most drugs appear to not work that much better than placebo but come with some nasty side-effects, whereas exercise only has positive side-effects.
@Ranin Zadviylet Very wrong. Please do reading and stop assuming you have something to contribute in conversations about subjects you clearly know nothing about. There are courses on Biochemistry available all over the web, try Google.
I watch almost all video Naturopatic, but don’t see anyone talk about ITP (thrombocytopenia). I have this condition. I don’t produce enough platelets. The last time I went to ER was 2 and 2 red blood. After 4 red blood infusion it went up to 8. 1 platelets infusion. It went up to 40. Next day down 13 next day 12. Today 8. Got another platelets and blood infusion again still waiting for results. The hematologists suggests that I would have to have my spleen and/or hysterectomy/uterus remove. I need help please
Apparently people in South West England used to "take a cure" in the thermal [Roman] pools of Bath.It turned out that folk who drank too much cider[which they have always made down that way]got lead poisoning from the apple crushing process which was done using lead presses.People got sick and then recovered after taking the cure in the hot pools. They never knew that they had lead poisoning at the time though.
I would be very interested to know how effective saunas are against viral/bacterial infections such as cold/flu/etc....I'd like to think, from personal experience, that they work.
Most of your commercial saunas use City tap water full of fluoride and chlorine so you're breathing that! Make sure their water is filtered if you get in a public sauna!
I don't feel like going to Ankara Turkey anytime soon, that is for shore. And if anyone is confused, sauna or intense exercise = getting rid of 40 to 100 mg of Pb2+/lead os go sauna for getting smarter :-p
Whether the toxicity leaves via the sweat or hair… irrelevant. Even if the simple increase on heart rate or mobilization… detox pathways will shunt junk
I know this comment is 4 years old but damn that made me laugh, I don't know if it was a joke or if it was meant to be serious but either way... Hilarious
So the answer is???? Yes..... I think? Sometimes I watch his videos and am unsure
Sometimes? More like ALL the times.

Why are saunas so popular in Finland? Curious from California.

One of my friends loves her home sauna believing it is a detoxifying machine while she consumes bone broth daily. This video is for her!

Saunas also create heat shock proteins which do great things in the body as well according to Dr. Rhonda Patrick.
More sauna videos including native sweat lodges. Do saunas decrease or kill cancer??
The answer is yes

Welcome to Finland! saunas should be always 80 celsius or higher
Please do a video on the psilycobin in mushrooms to treat depression or disease please
I doubt there are many studies done on the topic, since in most countries they're illegal so that would be "unethical"...

By supplements, Gregor means niacin, a crucial component in sauna detoxification.
Yes, it helps

You know they work. You don't need some dork reading studies to confirm this observable reality.
