I've used my Revlon hair dryer brush for about 6 years for my and my daughter's hair. I did not know about the recall and never knew about it exploding 😓. Thank you so much for sharing this information with us.
You used yours for 6 years, so maybe its the ones that were manufactured later. I bought mine last year. I used it this pass Sunday. I didn't finish my hair because I was getting nervous. I didn't like the smell & it was getting really hot fast. I'm not sure I want to use it again.

Thanks for sharing, although just to clarify, I believe (in the UK at least) it’s the 5250 model with the round brush that’s been recalled, not the paddle brush one in this video.

I actually have the Revlon one and I use it a lot but I do notice that it does get crazy hot and I'm always burning my hands when using it but I haven't yet experienced any of the plug issues hope I don't but I'm glad I came across this review though cause I love my blow dryer❤
I’ve been through about 3 of those Revlon one step blow dryers in under 5 years, because I would throw them away after they all would eventually spark!⚡️ didn’t know they were recalled thought it was just a bad batch each time😮 I now use the round brush version of the Conair knot doctor blow dryer and it works great.

My blow dryer hair brush, I believe it was a revlon, sparked when I had one years ago. I just thought I over used it & I threw it away. It was scary at the time but it didn’t catch on fire or anything. I wish I would have looked online to see if it happened to someone else.

Hey Whitney! Yeah, I discovered the Knot Dr. last year, and I haven’t looked back. I loved my Revlon one step for as long as it lasted (the bristles and air holes started to melt, and I took that as a bad sign before it ever exploded on me, so into the trash it went). This brush is a decent replacement, since I don’t use it often anyway. Thanks for reviewing it and letting others know about it!

Thank you for the review. It’s just a little misleading. The brush is readily available on Amazon, the law suit & recall (from 2020) looks like it’s from the UK, not here, and some of the reviews you posted are for different models and manufacturers-that first one is for the Conair.

Wow! I just blow dryed my hair with the Revlon one step 2 weeks ago! I've had it for 4 years 😔 Gotta discard it now and find a replacement. I will say though it is ridiculous how hot it could get and how majority of the heat was just in the upper part of the brush. Thanks Whitney!

I love my Conair infiniti pro blow dryer brush😅 Its lighter, dries faster and the head is removable so I can wash it. I can also switch out the brush attachment and use the comb attachment or round brush. I own both blow dryer brushes so I will definitely throw out the Revlon brush now that I know it could explode😢. I rarely use it anymore anyways because it's difficult to get fully clean.

I hadn't blow-dried my hair since my big chop over a decade ago. I was honestly scared to try it. But I bought the Conair after watching this video and I've used it twice on my 4C hair. I love it!
Whats super weird is I can still find the Revlon hair dryer brush on Walmart and Amazon sites just to name a few. I trust what you saw Whitney but its really strange that on my side of the world when I goggled I didn’t find that recall info. Thanks for this heads-up! I’m in the UK and had no idea about this! The Revlon does get super hot though, so I rarely use it - maybe 3 or 4 times a year max. Glad I just bought the Amika brush for Christmas. I can now recycle the Revlon with a clear conscious.

I was using my revlon a few days ago and I saw the spark! I immediately said “NOPE” and switched to my other blow dryer. Thank you Whitney for confirming that this dryer is going in the trash! 😭

Thank you so much for this video! My Revlon hair dryer caught on fire while I was doing my hair two months ago. Thankfully, I was preparing to do a new section of my hair so I had the dryer pulled away from my head at the moment that the fire started. I looked on Reddit and even TH-cam to see if anyone else had experienced this as well. But it was a couple of months ago and I didn't find anything back then. I use the RevAir now and it has been great.

Thank you for informing us about the recall Whitney. I purchased the Revlon dryer brush after seeing you review it in like 2018 and it still works great for me. No sparks or smoke. So, I'mma be stubborn and keep using it 😅, but I will look into the recall as well. Revlon really should have had suppliers of their device inform customers that purchased defective models about this recall.

I'm still considering the rev air unit for my next blow dryer. Thank you for the heads up on the recall. I don't use my revlon brush dryer that often but I'll definitely be extra careful if I use it again. One more thing, I badly need a full sized bottle of the African Black Soap shampoo. I love that shampoo and I need more!❤😊
If you prefer heat to style the rev air is well worth it. I bought mine for a hefty discount on Mercari and use every it every week to stretch my twist out. It’s made detangling on wash day ten times easier.

I was today years old when I heard about the recall. I love my revlon blow dry brush for my hair and my daughters. So quick and stretches my hair well. I’ve had it for 3 years and use it a lot but I did notice on my last wash day the bottom of the handle was very hot to the point I couldn’t hold it for long. It may be time to put it down. I’m going to try the Conair one

Wow that's crazy. I brought my Revlon like 6-7yrs old and it's never done that. Maybe the newer versions were starting to caught fire. That's awful that a product that worked so well has dangerous equipment problems

There are two different Revlon brushes the one like Whitney has and there’s one where the brush bristles go around the brush. I had the one with brush bristles going all the way around and they had a recall on that specific Revlon dryer brush. But I didn’t find out for months after the recall. And I see why they recalled that specific brush because mine would over heat and be scalding hot, Smoking and it would set off my smoke detectors in my apartment.

I love my Conair. I agree the brush can get very hot. I also like that you can remove the brush head for washing or replace it altogether if it gets too worn.

I have short color-treated 4C hair. I used to have the Revlon brush but I found that the little balls on the bristles pulled out my hair and caused so much breakage. I was devastated and ended up doing another big chop. Also, the brush was extremely hard to clean, so over time the product buildup began to smell burnt. So I just stick with my Denman brush and a normal blow dryer.

The revlon one step blow dryer and volumizer also works really well with blowing out the hair, it just gives a lot of volume obviously. I got one after Christmas 2022 when it went on clearance and I reach for that one instead of the paddle dryer now

I love the results I got whenever I used it, prior to straightening. However, given the recall (which I had no idea about), it's going to the electric waste! Good to know, I'll have to look up that recall! I hardly ever use it so it should still be in good shape. I couldn't find the recall but they are still selling it at Amazon and Ulta.

I have the conair....i love it. I’ve used it with a hose attachment to dry my rollerset for 60 min, no issue as long as the back fan has proper hair flow. I also like it has a round brush included i don’t need a whole new device, just change the head.

omg...thanks for the warning! I have the Revlon and the Revair. I haven't used the Revlon since getting the Revair though. It just got too hot for comfort for me. It's good to know those concerns were valid lol
I have WITNESSED THIS! My roommate had one and one night she was using it and from the other room I heard a loud POP and she shrieked. Apparently it exploded just as she pulled it away from her hair. She was pretty shook for a while after. I had been contemplating getting one myself but after that I said NO THANKS! 😬

I’ve been iffy about heated brushes since i found out they get hotter which could potentially cause more heat damage. Although, these were usually from the cheaper brands I just stick with a round brush and Dyson hair dryer. I was contemplating on getting a brush but glad I didn’t. Ladies I think it’s best to do some research and maybe even spend a little more on the “safer” heated brushes.

Amazon has to start alerting people who shop their products about recalls. Grocery stores and Walmart alert me immediately through email and sometimes phone calls. I have never received anything from amazon on products I bought from them that were eventually recalled. They are so careless when it comes to customers. I shop on there as little as possible.
I also purchased mine from Amazon. I looked into the class action info and the class action lawsuit she mentioned is from the UK. Many other brands including Conair, drybrush & hot tools were named in the class action lawsuit. The only Amazon recalls I could find were for the knockoff versions of the round brush one step.
@Ouryearoff I'm not talking about this product, I'm speaking in general. I have purchased things and no emails alerting about recall. The product is just quietly made unavailable on their website while ppl are impacted.

I definitely liked the Revlon better but mine broke. Thanks to your video I know why I can't find it easily. I will say the Conair brush head can be replaced and you can use it without the brush attachment. But I agree the smaller size means it takes longer and doesn't smooth as well as the Revlon. However the potential exploding Revlon will make me stay with the Conair.

I still use my Revlon one step, too!! Thanks for the heads up tho--I'll keep an eye on it. It's been my fave and I rarely blow dry anyway. Plus it did say overseas models--and that means potentially a problem with converting to European voltage differences. Not saying it is--ion know, but I have had plugs heat up when I plugged them into an adapter in Europe. I'll do more checking.Thanks, Whitney!,

Omg I had no idea about the lawsuit! I’ve been using that brush for a few years and I was actually looking for a new one with attachments. My hair is short rn (did a second big chop) so thankfully I have time to find a replacement. I don’t wanna take the risk keeping this one.

I’ve been using the knot doctor for a few years & it is unmatched $ for $. I even purchased a backup in case something happens to the one I’m currently using.

I've used my Revlon hair dryer brush for about 6 years for my and my daughter's hair. I did not know about the recall and never knew about it exploding 😓. Thank you so much for sharing this information with us.
You used yours for 6 years, so maybe its the ones that were manufactured later. I bought mine last year. I used it this pass Sunday. I didn't finish my hair because I was getting nervous. I didn't like the smell & it was getting really hot fast. I'm not sure I want to use it again.

I love the Conair one. Its not as loud as the Revlon. Its also affordable.
I actually have the Revlon one and I use it a lot but I do notice that it does get crazy hot and I'm always burning my hands when using it but I haven't yet experienced any of the plug issues hope I don't but I'm glad I came across this review though cause I love my blow dryer❤
I’ve been through about 3 of those Revlon one step blow dryers in under 5 years, because I would throw them away after they all would eventually spark!⚡️ didn’t know they were recalled thought it was just a bad batch each time😮 I now use the round brush version of the Conair knot doctor blow dryer and it works great.

My blow dryer hair brush, I believe it was a revlon, sparked when I had one years ago. I just thought I over used it & I threw it away. It was scary at the time but it didn’t catch on fire or anything. I wish I would have looked online to see if it happened to someone else.
The same thing happen to my revlon. It was very loud and scary at the time & threw it away too.

Hey Whitney! Yeah, I discovered the Knot Dr. last year, and I haven’t looked back. I loved my Revlon one step for as long as it lasted (the bristles and air holes started to melt, and I took that as a bad sign before it ever exploded on me, so into the trash it went). This brush is a decent replacement, since I don’t use it often anyway. Thanks for reviewing it and letting others know about it!

Thank you for the review. It’s just a little misleading. The brush is readily available on Amazon, the law suit & recall (from 2020) looks like it’s from the UK, not here, and some of the reviews you posted are for different models and manufacturers-that first one is for the Conair.

Wow! I just blow dryed my hair with the Revlon one step 2 weeks ago! I've had it for 4 years 😔 Gotta discard it now and find a replacement. I will say though it is ridiculous how hot it could get and how majority of the heat was just in the upper part of the brush. Thanks Whitney!

I have the ConAIR brush and only ever use it on low heat, and honestly if you use if for a while the head gets crazy hot too

I love my Conair infiniti pro blow dryer brush😅 Its lighter, dries faster and the head is removable so I can wash it. I can also switch out the brush attachment and use the comb attachment or round brush.
I own both blow dryer brushes so I will definitely throw out the Revlon brush now that I know it could explode😢. I rarely use it anymore anyways because it's difficult to get fully clean.

Thanks for this heads-up! I’m in the UK and had no idea about this! The Revlon does get super hot though, so I rarely use it - maybe 3 or 4 times a year max. Glad I just bought the Amika brush for Christmas. I can now recycle the Revlon with a clear conscious.

Thank you so much for this video! My Revlon hair dryer caught on fire while I was doing my hair two months ago. Thankfully, I was preparing to do a new section of my hair so I had the dryer pulled away from my head at the moment that the fire started. I looked on Reddit and even TH-cam to see if anyone else had experienced this as well. But it was a couple of months ago and I didn't find anything back then. I use the RevAir now and it has been great.

Thank you for informing us about the recall Whitney. I purchased the Revlon dryer brush after seeing you review it in like 2018 and it still works great for me. No sparks or smoke. So, I'mma be stubborn and keep using it 😅, but I will look into the recall as well. Revlon really should have had suppliers of their device inform customers that purchased defective models about this recall.

If you prefer heat to style the rev air is well worth it. I bought mine for a hefty discount on Mercari and use every it every week to stretch my twist out. It’s made detangling on wash day ten times easier.

I was today years old when I heard about the recall. I love my revlon blow dry brush for my hair and my daughters. So quick and stretches my hair well. I’ve had it for 3 years and use it a lot but I did notice on my last wash day the bottom of the handle was very hot to the point I couldn’t hold it for long. It may be time to put it down.

There are two different Revlon brushes the one like Whitney has and there’s one where the brush bristles go around the brush. I had the one with brush bristles going all the way around and they had a recall on that specific Revlon dryer brush. But I didn’t find out for months after the recall. And I see why they recalled that specific brush because mine would over heat and be scalding hot, Smoking and it would set off my smoke detectors in my apartment.

I love the Conair Knot Dr. I wash and blow my hair out once a week on low, for my twist outs, and it works great with no damage.
I love my Conair. I agree the brush can get very hot. I also like that you can remove the brush head for washing or replace it altogether if it gets too worn.

I have short color-treated 4C hair. I used to have the Revlon brush but I found that the little balls on the bristles pulled out my hair and caused so much breakage. I was devastated and ended up doing another big chop. Also, the brush was extremely hard to clean, so over time the product buildup began to smell burnt. So I just stick with my Denman brush and a normal blow dryer.

I thought they stopped producing The one styler because the round brush blow dryer’s became popular.
The revlon one step blow dryer and volumizer also works really well with blowing out the hair, it just gives a lot of volume obviously. I got one after Christmas 2022 when it went on clearance and I reach for that one instead of the paddle dryer now

I have the conair....i love it. I’ve used it with a hose attachment to dry my rollerset for 60 min, no issue as long as the back fan has proper hair flow. I also like it has a round brush included i don’t need a whole new device, just change the head.

I have WITNESSED THIS! My roommate had one and one night she was using it and from the other room I heard a loud POP and she shrieked. Apparently it exploded just as she pulled it away from her hair. She was pretty shook for a while after.

I’ve been iffy about heated brushes since i found out they get hotter which could potentially cause more heat damage. Although, these were usually from the cheaper brands I just stick with a round brush and Dyson hair dryer. I was contemplating on getting a brush but glad I didn’t.
Ladies I think it’s best to do some research and maybe even spend a little more on the “safer” heated brushes.

I just want to be sure everyone sees this Revlon One Step UPDATE! 🗣I didn’t realize that the One Step Brush was the name of both the PADDLE & the ROUND One Step Hair Dryer & Styler 😅The recall was on the round brush, however - it was most-likely just be a specific model that is off the market since the round brush IS still sold in stores! 🙏🏾 I got scared and knew I recommended this brush and didn’t want to be the cause of anyone buying it and then getting hurt! I deleted that section from this video and made sure to alert everyone across my social media!! ❤BUT after posting this video, it seems that the paddle brush also has a few issues since about half of my community mentioned also seeing sparks with it! So I'm just updating everyone and letting them know to just keep their eyes on BOTH brushes just in case!
Amazon has to start alerting people who shop their products about recalls. Grocery stores and Walmart alert me immediately through email and sometimes phone calls. I have never received anything from amazon on products I bought from them that were eventually recalled. They are so careless when it comes to customers. I shop on there as little as possible.
I also purchased mine from Amazon. I looked into the class action info and the class action lawsuit she mentioned is from the UK. Many other brands including Conair, drybrush & hot tools were named in the class action lawsuit. The only Amazon recalls I could find were for the knockoff versions of the round brush one step.

It’s only Revlon’s 5250 model with a round brush that’s been recalled, not the paddle brush one in the video.
@Ouryearoff I'm not talking about this product, I'm speaking in general. I have purchased things and no emails alerting about recall. The product is just quietly made unavailable on their website while ppl are impacted.

Never had an issue. Maybe it's newer ones. I've had mine for a few years and love it

I definitely liked the Revlon better but mine broke. Thanks to your video I know why I can't find it easily. I will say the Conair brush head can be replaced and you can use it without the brush attachment. But I agree the smaller size means it takes longer and doesn't smooth as well as the Revlon. However the potential exploding Revlon will make me stay with the Conair.

I still use my Revlon one step, too!! Thanks for the heads up tho--I'll keep an eye on it. It's been my fave and I rarely blow dry anyway. Plus it did say overseas models--and that means potentially a problem with converting to European voltage differences. Not saying it is--ion know, but I have had plugs heat up when I plugged them into an adapter in Europe. I'll do more checking.Thanks, Whitney!,
I remember wanting to try the brush blow dryer but I didn’t think it would be the greatest because it would pull out more hair that it needed to. But yours turned out great! And girllllll INCHESSSS 😍

Omg I had no idea about the lawsuit! I’ve been using that brush for a few years and I was actually looking for a new one with attachments. My hair is short rn (did a second big chop) so thankfully I have time to find a replacement. I don’t wanna take the risk keeping this one.
Great review. I've never used heat on my daughter's hair. I am way too scared for that. Maybe I will try it on my hair.
I’ve used the revlon brush for years recently purchased the conair knot dr and I can honestly say it isn’t that drastic of a difference it’s a good replacement

I’ve been using the knot doctor for a few years & it is unmatched $ for $. I even purchased a backup in case something happens to the one I’m currently using.

Wow! I’m just viewing this information. I have the Revlon but I used a reg blow dryer last time. The Revlon does get super hot & that kinda worried me so I won’t use it!
