    In some "organized" racing classes throughout the world, races may be specified to turn left (like the 1:10 scale guys in the Pacific Northwest). They run right-hand props to get it to work best; essentially a mirror image of what we in the USA are accustomed to seeing. That's why Bill gives you two turn fins. It's not really recommended to run two at the same time as it will tend to decrease performance. If a tiny performance decrease doesn't really mater, then have at it.

      I didn't know that doc, I knew 10th scale hydros run to the right, fun fact! Thanks! I'm definitely running a single fin. Or no fin at all for speed.

    Looks like it could be a fun little boat. Interested to see it run, should do well given he rebrands already proven parts.

    Nice new project Big B! It would have been fair if Oxidean credited JAE with this design, because there's no denying this is a JAE 33 FE rigger. Maybe some very light mods, but anyway.. Not to be negative on you Big B, you know I love your content and attitude 👍 Looking forward to the maiden and the speed running with this one. That's going to be fun 😎
    Oh, and one advice: I learnt from a fellow RC boat racer, it is best to enter the cooling water at the lowest point of your jacket and exit it at the highest point. Best would be if they are both aligned straight above the motor shaft. That way, the entire cooling jacket will be filled with water! Cheers, DJ

      I see what you're saying, I've been over the jae 21 many times comparing the difference. The overall appearance looks very much the same, but there's countless differences.. imo, all riggers look so similar. , cheap, China wood kits, half the size of the jae, have the same characteristics. When someone scratch builds a rigger, how do they look once completed? They look just like a jae. Do they perform like a jae? Probably not!

    • @bermyvlogger
      @bermyvlogger ปีที่แล้ว +1

      if thats the case then the jae wold have to give credit to the japanese cause that where they got most of the design from. nothing is original in this millennium . the inventor of the rc out rigger was the guy who started it all -don pinckert. and even he got the idea from stuff guys where doing to set lake sped records back in the 50's . when it comes to this i actually built something nearly identical a few years before they introduced the jae. i never ran it cause i eventually thought it was dumb. i stand by that. i see they dont "drive" like i would like so glad i never tied it . but hey we need all the innovators thats how u get the next best thing . everybody has to start with a copy and make changes ,mono,cat,hydro makes no difference

    • @CozyRC
      @CozyRC ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, almost all riggers look alike. But certain details in je JAE design, such as the sudden break in de sponson ride pad, the 4 connections for the turn fin, the antenna holder, strut (identical, only different color), rear ski are details taken from the JAE.
      I'm not trying to offend anyone, but from my own experience I know that it doesn't feel good when somebody sells your design, without mentioning your name and pretending it is their own design. I happened to my 23" F1 Tunnel. Maybe that's why I'm a bit sensitive to this 🤔
      On a positive note, you are a big promoter of the hobby Big B and everytime I see your new projects, it's starts to itch to make a similar boat 😎👍

    $599 is a good deal for ARTR - I have that much into my JAE 33 FE rigger easily. Great addition to the Ironclad fleet. I've never seen a ARTR wood boat so props to Oxidean Marine!

    • @georgegonzalez9281
      @georgegonzalez9281 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wish I could understand all the hate on Oxidean Marine. I think he has some fine boats regardless if they are rebranded or not. If you don't like their prices buy elsewhere. Why bitch about it?

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. You can't beat it. It's an awesome offering, most FE Boaters want a rigger, why wouldn't you there fast, they turn on a dime and put on quite the show, until now you had to build a rigger from the ground up. The oxidigger allows basically anyone to own a FAST WOOD outrigger ... I'm extremely excited about the maiden.

    I love the boat. I went to check out and the postage was as dear as the boat, The love the boat. But $400-$500 depending on freight company is too much for just the kit form rigger. I already have a 4082 and 180a seaking esc. It’s a shame freight so expensive. The joys of living on a dead end country like Australia.

    wow what a zippkitt knock off sorry man, everyones sick of oxi. its just the 800-1200 pricepoint is inasane, and the motor mount and coupler, solid shaft design was taken from tenshock, ecomaster.. including the cooling on bottom.. the sponsons are and excat copyy of the jae 26 and 21fe. that have been around since the 80s. the 180 esc is what has been recommened since the 90s.. so i hate to be so negative but many others myself included have multiple reasons not ever do bussiness with bill... besides a pre cut lazer cut from zipkitts is 120 buck or so give or take.....or even a shrimp kit for under 100 if built well.....if oxi is out of stock on a part and its been a few years if you ask a question like size or dimension, he wont tell ya.. and it gets worse, but i will have to the class to not bring up the other issues as he doesnt.....

      @matthewwilken2051 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@palehorse7377 hes garabage period, bill.... and to be honest i would be humilated to own any oxi product. i gave away any oxi stuff i had, and just made my own carbon fiber tenshock mini dom hull. myself and many others have a bone to pick with him.. all i can say is you will find out.. everything he sells is a 20 year old knock off from something else.. i means eriouisly a gold spray painted transimitter marked up 100s lol .. that you can buy off aile for 60 bucks. i ove the way he puts his name on other ecs and so on......he rounds up everyones money . then takes a few years. then yu get a tfl, tenshock or many other knock offs. people are really pissed at him im serious......

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Even zipkits are reproducing their own products here lately.... the R4 Is just an updated jae21 they don't have any NEW rigger designs there, just updating old stuff. Think about it A rigger is a rigger, shrimp rigger ,jae, all the knock-offs, they all basically look the same.

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm with you palehorse not everyone has the time to build an outrigger to tight specs. Oxidean has a great product here, allowing anyone to hit the water with an iconic style rigger. LETS GO!!

    • @matthewwilken2051
      @matthewwilken2051 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@IRONCLADRC no its NOT the same at all. zippkitss are original designs like dumas. oxi is bad bussiness period. everyone enjoys your videos,, but take it from the rest of us that have been around for awhile. the oxi brand will kill your chaannel trust me on this. meanwhile bill keeps collecting groups of peoples money for boats he hasnt built yet or flat copies after the years have gone by and he thinks everyone has forgot,, funny about the carbon rigger hes selling i had this converstion with bill a few years ago about the carbon rigger made by oleg klmentiv over 15 years ago..... while traveling the world, can you say SCAM hahaha

    • @IRONCLADRC

      Model boats, okay. Model boats aka fe boats are just scaled-down copys of real boats! No one gave proboat he'll for copying the miss geico, or mrp copying the budlight and countless other MODEL BOATS. Just how it is brother, take ML BOAT WORKS almost every boat they sell is scaled down reproductions of the real boat.
      Who cares where it originated from as long as your having fun with the boat you choose .

    can tell u dont run large fast boats. a kick up rudder is ur worst nightmare. if it can kick up,100 will kick it up. if u put a big enough bolt to not break it wont be a kick up rudder any more just fyi

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      I use 4mm heavy duty plastic breakaway screws, they'll hold up to 100mph passes , basically run them on all my 80 plus mph boats.
