  • Sailing "Jayne Ellen", a sharpie, in a Topsail Beach, sound creek, talking to JB on the phone. Copy of one hundred bushel sharpie used in 1880 to 1920 for oyster harvesting on eastern shores of the US coastline. Boat built by big t, to lines drawn by Reuel B.Parker, New Haven model. Plywood, epoxy, xynole polyester cloth construction. Launched 5th July 2000, after two years of construction.

    Can you tell me if you have any ballast and what is your sail size? Awsome boat. Love NH sharpie.

      vgaulin The boat weighted about 1200 lbs before rigging. I have about 700 lbs oflead plate and lead bricks. The boat is about one ton. The sail is about 160 sq ft.

    a fine outing in a outstanding sailboat. only way to make it better is to turn the electronic leash off.
