This video actually helped out alot, its hard to fined a good video of how to use these test pens in a correct manner, and showed clearly of how the cast iron tube's 'porcelain glassing"could potentially have lead, another question i would have is,,"if it was possible that all cast iron tubes had or have lead in their porcelain glaze by the manufacturer standard at the time ,or were some processed differently in certain Era of cast iron tubs,?andmaybe clues to what manufactures did and whichdidnt ,this was a great video thank you for a great video post✌
Is there any concern for lead in fiberglass or acrylic tubs or is it only porcelain or steel? We have some super old tubs in the house we just bought and I don't know if they are safe. They aren't clawfoot just old plastic looking ones
Two problems: 1. The tests are activated by break them in two places, marked A and B, then you shake them. You don't just crush the center. 2. He failed to open the second the second lead test at all. When you open these you should see purple liquid in the tip.
@@durafinishinc.2577Hi. NYC. I did test on my reglazed bat tub and test is positive. I called 311, cause we have toddler at home. 311 said we don't have options for bath tub lead complain, and that Lead unit never allowed testing bath tubs 😮.

Who do i call? My swab came back positive.
Its just for your information, letting you know that the porcelain is worn enough to leach lead. If you reglaze, it will no longer test positive.
