Wow, beautiful job! I'm about to refinish a farm sink and two smaller bathroom sinks. Would the Klean Strip Muric Acid work as a chemical etcher? And the Rustoleum tub and tile refinisher?
Was that a gel coat or just normal paint/clear ?
What brand was the initial coat of primer that you used ? Need specifics please. Thx!
What kind of acid did you to etch ?
This is amazing! There’s bath fitter over our beautiful 1950s tub which I am sure is blue (like the toilet and sink) and I desperately want to uncover it!
Your volume us poor!
are you kidding, would have been faster and cheaper to replace with new tub. And nobody would have lost any brain cells 🤣
You are a miracle worker!
I'm a refinish technician for a company with a few locations across the US. I'm interested in some other products outside of the company blended materials I'm using. I'm seeing some in this video are there any others you'd recommend?
Can't hear what you're saying.....can't see name of coating.
What paint products were used? Finished product looks greT
What is the name of all the material you used? Thank you
What kind of cleaner did you wipe it down with though?
Great job! The fillers sure look like bondo and lacquer putty.
Hi what clear do you use?
Love the hose in the window, super sucking. Nice video!
What kind of Primer and Paint do u use to paint the slide?
How would I find a shop like yours in Nashville?
Could you please tell me what you used for the black adhesive? My tub guy can't figure it out. Thanks
Looks beautiful!!! Why doesn't the factory paint the underside of the slide?
It would be cool to finish one with a design on it similar to what you see on surf boards.
I have that slide and it looks like that! Thanks for the video.
Which paint stripper did you used.Jasco did not work for me ?
WOW I’m admiring every step of this video bringing back the beauty restoration is a work of art How much does it cost for a 4ft claw foot tub in very good shape ?
Where do you buy primer and paint from?
Where do you buy primer and paint grom?
Did you use awl epoxy paint for the top coat? If not, what did you use?
I enjoyed watching the process and transformation. Could you list the products you used?
How long does this finish last or guaranteed? Cleaning products needed?
Where are you located? I'm in Chicagoland area
Is the topcoat a porcelain product?
Primer was AWLGrips, I must have missed what the top coat was called, is it porcelain? Great job, they look awesome! Thank you for sharing…
So this is just a high grade epoxy paint as opposed to an actual porcelain finish, correct?
what's the reducer?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
why not just repair the crack in the liner?
The liner can leak at the 3 seams as well as those cracks. I also own a reglazing business and was called to a customer for an issue with their liner. Turned out water had seeped behind, you could hear it swishing all around between the liner and tub. There had to be gallons of water trapped.
What was that chemical stuff you used? It looked great after that!!
I love your work! I have the base cabinets and sink with an excellent drain, in Avocado green. Would it be ok to use Naval Gel on the rust.
Where are you located? I have a whole set of cabinets that I primered last year and haven't been able to paint them yet
Very nice
I like that you specifically say why it’s not recommended to diy strip, and also why the chemical says not to use on baths… because it needs professional respirators and mechanical ventilation. Here’s me always thinking the “not for” is because it’ll melt the object or something 😂. That scraping was so satisfying when it behaved. LOVE that you give pricing at the end as well (I’d add again that it’s because of a removal and coat), and to see your other videos for different results, because so often people want to get someone in to do a job but no one will even give a ballpark so I figure it’s way out of budget that I don’t bother. So this is a pleasant surprise 😊
Just curious what you guys charge for something like this?
How much does this cost
Typical Restoration in our shop is $695.00 (Oct. 2023) with other options available, up to $995.00 Thanks for watching! Jon
Being that these are very old, they’re probably lead paint is it wise to sand them?
Hi, Lead dust is a concern for some items, especially if painted before the 1970's. I usually sand using a vac system on the sander with HEPA filter for dust and also sometimes do so in the paint booth with the exhaust fan running, as well as using a respirator. (not paper mask). As far as doing something like this at home... if lead is a concern, you can get the lead test kits by 3M, then at least you know what you're working with. As far as the coatings that we're using, none contain lead. Thanks for asking. Jon
Where are you located. I an old sink that is identical to the one in your video that I need restored.
Grand Rapids, Michigan
Would this have been used as a urinal or possibly a restaurant kitchen sink? Interested to know what it was used for and what it would be re-purposed for. Thanks for the video.
Sorry, forgot to mention how beautiful she turned out. Great work. 👍
It was a Restaurant Kitchen Sink.
Who do i call? My swab came back positive.
Its just for your information, letting you know that the porcelain is worn enough to leach lead. If you reglaze, it will no longer test positive.
@@durafinishinc.2577Hi. NYC. I did test on my reglazed bat tub and test is positive. I called 311, cause we have toddler at home. 311 said we don't have options for bath tub lead complain, and that Lead unit never allowed testing bath tubs 😮.
My husband and I just purchased an old house we are going to redo and the kitchen has a full set of these metal cabinets… they are all rusted and I thought beyond repair but maybe we can re work them now that I’ve seen this…
even if the bottom is rusted out, you might be able to replace with sheet metal or even wood... Hope it works out! Jon
I Love your work!! Awesome job!!
Thank you so much!
Just wondering why the cabinet doors were left on for painting?
They dont come off easily. and that way both sides can be painted at the same time.
