@@TheIncredibleJourney Did you know that there were two Bethlehems during the time of Jesus which both still exist today? Type out ' 0 c.e. Map; time of Jesus' on Google. You'll find a Map from 4 B.C. to 30 A.D. from The U.S. Library of Congress. Type out "Bethlehem of Galilee" on Google Maps, you'll find Bethlehem north of Jerusalem, west of the southern tip of The Red Sea next to the town of Hajajira & near Nazareth. Not the same Bethlehem that is in Palestine 5 to 8 miles south of Jerusalem passed The West Bank Barrier also known as "The Apartheid Wall."
As for Herod Antipas, he was often mentioned as just plain "Herod" in The Bible like 'Mark 6:20." Salome's dance of The Seven Veils that led to the execution of John The Baptist is mentioned in The Bible from Matthew Chapter 14:1:12 to 14:3:12 by Jewish King Herod Antipas, son of Herod The Great & Malthace.
Herod The Great (Jewish - worldhistory org) was appointed by Rome to govern both Judea and Galilee, north of Judea. It was either Herod Philip who married Herodias before Herodias married Herod Philip's brother, Herod Antipas, (I believe) ruled Galilee from 4 B.C. to 34 B.C or Philip of Tetrarch. It is mentioned in The Encyclopedia Britannica that Herodias was The Queen of Galilee. However, I believe Herodias, Queen of Galilee, became The Queen of Judea after she married her husband's brother, "King Herod Antipas." Herod Philip was the son of Herod The Great and Mariamne I (Oxford Reference). Philip of Tetrarch was Salome's husband & uncle (Husbands of Salome: NY Times; Salome: Encyclopedia Britannica). Of course, there are editors from The Encyclopedia Britannica who become confused between Herod Philip, Salome's father, with Philip of Tetrarch, Salome's husband and uncle. Philip of Tetrarch was the son of Herod The Great & Cleopatra of Jerusalem who Herod The Great married in 25 B.C.. Herod Antipas had to divorce his first wife, Phasa'el, the daughter of King Aretas IV of Nabatea, in order to marry Herodias, Salome's mother.
Pompay from Rome conquered Jerusalem in 63 B.C. during The Siege of Jerusalem who married the daughter of Julius Caesar who ended up fighting against Cleopatra of Egypt. (Not the same person as Cleopatra of Jerusalem who married Herod The Great). Herod The Great (Jewish) ruled Judea and Galilee from 37 B.C. to 4 B.C. (Encyclopedia Britannica). Jesus, according to The Encyclopedia Britannica was born between 6 B.C. to 4 B.C. in Galilee which would have been north of Jerusalem. Not south in Palestine. As mentioned in Mark 6:20, Herod Antipas didn't like John The Baptist, but feared John The Baptist and his followers. However, Jewish King Herod Antipas tolerated John The Baptist until John The Baptist one day told Herod Antipas that his marriage to Herodias was unholy. Later, on Herod Antipas' birthday, Herodias had Salome perform a dance called, 'The Dance of The Seven Veils.' Jewish King Herod Antipas was so pleased with Salome's dance that he granted Salome any wish she so desired, and Herodias persuaded Salome to ask Herod Antipas for The Head of John The Baptist executed on August 28th, 28 c.e. (may have been in the year 29 c.e.). As for Jesus born in Bethlehem of Galilee, there is absolutely no proof that Jesus was Jewish. Jesus was most definitely a Jewish rebel. That is most certain.
Also, Shalom meaning “Peace,” in Jewish did not derive from Herod Philip’s daughter/Herod Antipas’s step-daughter, Salome. Shalom meaning ‘Peace” may have derived from another woman named Salome who was a follower of Jesus Christ who watched Jesus’s resurrection. **Mark 15:40-16:8,**
Oh...It may be that Philip of Tetrarch (encyclopedias) ruled Galilee, but I believe they may have been mistaken in that Herod Philip, who first married Herodias, may have been the ruler of Galilee from 4 B.C. to 34 A.D.. As for Herod The Great, Jewish, who ruled from 37 B.C. to 4 B.C., he married 10 times. 8 wives are on record.
Of course, Hollywood Actress Rita Hayworth acted in the Hollywood Movie, Salome, from 1953. The movie wasn't very accurate. Oh...I'm basically a descendant of Roger Williams, Founder of The First Baptist Church. I think people need to study a bit more. Of course, Ancient Israel fell in 722 B.C. thanks to Assyrians mentioned in The Encyclopedia Britannica. Funny how so many people today don't even know that.

This speaks to the difference between king Saul and king David.
Though both men were guilty of terrible sin. Saul was only concerned with what the people thought of him...he was motivated in life by upholding his public image. Whereas conversely, king David was not concerned with his public image...instead, he grieved over how his sin affected his relationship with God. This is how even as a sinful man, he is called a man after God's own heart.

Great program. Yet a correction. Herodius was not Herod's fiance. But in a adulterous relationship.
John called out their sin, and Herodius hated John for it.
Please do not wash over pick and choose sins. As Jesus and John did, call truth.

The Bible doesn't say anything about John struggling while he was being imprisoned, it's just being acted out in that way.

No worries, brother. It may be difficult to believe from time to time. But when you open your heart and you feel him there with you, your reality changes. Your enemies become loved by you and you are shown many opportunities to help others in ways you'd think was not applicable. It's worth it :-)
