Concerning salvation, this part of scripture in v. 3 is so important because there is a Greek word that is used, “anothen” to be exact, which describes how the new birth happens since that word means “from above” or in other words supernaturally and not as a result of human decision-making.

Best revelation and depiction of Christ's purpose here for us that I have seen. People are hungry for the bible to be reinacted in our lifetime now by being able to identfy with it in a 'living' way that we can understand. I need to ask how the commentator came to the conclusion the meeting was held at Mt Olives? In the Garden? Is this in the Bible?
It's not in the Bible. Just a guess, it might be a tradition taught by the Seventh-Day Adventist church, since the SDAs produce The Incredible Journey. sydney.adventist.org.au/news-archive/incredible-journey/

You must die to the family of Adam, and become a member of the family of Christ, to be born, live and grow as a new holy man in that holy family.
What happened to “you must be born of the water and spirit”? My understanding is you also need Baptism in water and filled with the Holy spirit along with believing Jesus is God.
Baptism of the holy spirit comes after repentance/being born again. See the book of Acts chapter 2. The disciples were born again prior to this chapter but they hadnt received the holy spirit until Acts. Peter went from denying God (when he was not spirit filled) to boldly preaching His word (when he was spirit filled). The holy spirit gives us supernatural power that is unattainable if we simply do things by our own willpower. You can be saved (confess and believe that Jesus died for your sins and that your sins are forgiven because He died to set you free) and go to heaven yet never have received the baptism of the holy spirit. But yes, the holy spirit is vital to all believers and without it, we are operating by self only rather than the power of the living God. Some peope receive the holy spirit immediately after being born again while others receive it years later. You have to seek God with all your heart and you will receive the holy spirit and the gift of speaking in tongues.
You don't HAVE to be water baptized. That's simply a ritual that shows you've accepted Christ as your Savoir.
The thief on the cross wasn't Baptized and he was Saved.

Nicodemus visited Jesus at night as he was a Pharisee and had to avoid being seen.. He knew Jesus was the Messiah and asked Jesus what he should do (to get right with God) Jesus told him you must be Born again, he asked how could he go back in his mother's womb again and be Born..Jesus said it's a Spiritual birth recognizing your a sinner and need a Saviour, new life in the Spiritual life after that comes Baptism
Jesus said in John 3 5 one must be born again of water and of the holy spirit to enter the kingdom of Heaven. Also see Acts 2 38. Also Jesus did not leave the Holy Spirit that is the comforter with everyone until His ascension. They were all Baptized as men and women. See Acts 8 12. Jesus says we must all be Baptized in the same manner that He was and that those who do not receive their wedding garments in Baptism will be cast into outer darkness where there will be weeping and nashing of teeth. See Matthew Chapters 20 and 22. Sins are washed away in Baptism. See Hebrews 10 22 and Acts 22 16.
It is not biblical but only an assumption, to say that Nicodemus met Jesus in the garden. John 3:2 "He came to Jesus at night"', there is no mention of garden.
The Mt. of Olives means a lot to Jews and Christians, but honestly means nothing to Islam.
