  • Started by the child of a Korean billionaire, the Jin Air Green Wings were one of the most lovable teams in the history of League of Legends Esports. They developed a cult following who knew something was special about this team, but most never knew the full story until today. I hope you enjoy.

    I'm currently only 40 minutes into this documentary, but there is really a marked difference between these recent documentaries and the ones before Gbay's break. JAG's story so far is really interesting, and I really feel bad for their coach. He seems to have the best eyes in the scene, but not the resources to keep the talent that those eyes spot.

      I agree with the sentiment about gbay videos, this was a lovely and very interesting documentary, but I think their coach loved what he was doing, he got offers from other teams that paid more but he decided to stick to Jin Air on purpose

    I became a big Jin Air fan while watching the Starcraft Proleague, remember being depressed for weeks when I heard about them disbanding.
    It wasnt only a passion project in League, but also the last of the Kespa teams to stay around supporting players in Starcraft after kespa left the scene, it's really one of a kind and I'm super grateful they get a spot to shine through this 💚

      Yeah the double knife jab if matchfixning really killed both SC leagues and interest in KR, really said that basically nothing is left from it. Sure a few teams stayed (notably Freecs?), but there was almost nothing left in the RTS scenes 2016 onwards.

    Another absolute tear-jerker. You are doing it Gbay! You are making amazing content year after year with these documentaries on moments most of us would have never recognized. As one of the hundreds of thousands that have watched you back when you still made League gameplays, I couldn't be happier than to watch these.

  • @AlienHeadBill
    @AlienHeadBill ปีที่แล้ว +233

    Honestly Gbay, I appreciate you so fucking much for allowing us to even hear these stories, the countless hours, work, and effort you put into these videos is stunning! I love that you're willing to research these smaller teams, and these stories we probably would've never even heard or thought to look up! I honestly think I can speak for the entire league community by saying this. You have single handedly made me have a deeper enjoyment of League Of Legends the game, but the Esport surrounding it as a whole. You genuinely make me want to look into all these older teams, and older tournaments just to find some bangers or find out stuff I wouldn't have known about players/teams. Please please for the sake of the LOL community, as long as you enjoy doing these documentaries keep doing them, They offer so much story telling that the LCS/LEC/LCK/LPL refuse to talk about, or bring up, I honestly only enjoyed worlds because of your videos which made me actually have a narrative going into the event! If you could make one in time for MSI, that would be crazy, It would be awesome if you somehow could link up with LCS to make player documentaries, show off the history of individual players/ or even teams, to help create narratives for matches. Honestly the largest issue I have with LCS outside of the gameplay is the fact the cast/stream/content has just gone downhill, I miss the old LCS player videos, the ones that were like 8 minutes and just told us about their history and backstory, but to end this off, sorry for the ADHD going everywhere, for real Gbay Thank you so fucking much for making me enjoy this game as much as I did when I was 12, thank you for making this amazing content to watch on mornings when I'm actually so depressed I don't even want to open my door. You do so much for this community without even probably realizing it, and I just wanted to let you know we all love and appreciate every single thing you do Gbay Thank you

    My brother recommended this video and I am genuinely WEEPING watching this. I start playing League in 2012 but back then, I mostly only followed NA LCS at the time. I don't play anymore (keyboard boomer), but I've gotten back into watching pro League again, including more LEC, LCK and LPL. The intense nostalgia I felt watching this (that CLG roster! that SKT roster!) coupled with excellent editing and story telling has really cemented one fact - I love League of Legends.

  • @Reverie_xo
    @Reverie_xo ปีที่แล้ว +6

    This makes me deeply regret not being more invested in the LCK during the 2010s, but at the same time you gave me an appreciation for the time, the team owner, and the coach back then who shaped a lot of the LCK rosters. It's incredible to think about how HDragon shaped the scene with his scouting capabilities and how a lot of those players would've likely been overlooked if not for him.
    Been loving your documentaries, I didn't think anything could top your Khan video but this one at the very least comes close, hope you get to keep on doing what you love!

    Outstanding work Gbay! Not just a fantastic story, but a story told fantastically. I particularly loved how much you let the footage of the games speak for itself, especially in 'The Run'. The music choice elevated the emotions on all the major beats. The HLE coach crying in the post-game was shocking, I've never seen anything like it.
    I thought the clips of Jin-Air getting wrecked cut in with Rouges Cinderella story was brutal, it felt like really definitive punctuation. A poetic emblem of Jin-Airs legacy. Beautiful.

    The mental fortitude that H-Dragon and the Jin Air org had to have is unthinkable, and I salute them. This was a pretty emotional watch, even as someone who really started following League in the midst of the pandemic in 2020. I can always count on some banger docs from you, Gbay, thank you for your continued hard work!

    Everytime i see a new video from gbay i always think that this is what makes youtube special. Not the pranks and react videos they promote night and day, but this passion project right here that you do.

    This video was a masterpiece and thoroughly entertained me during its runtime. I also think, that it is absolutely criminal how little views you are getting, with almost 500K subscribers. You definetely deserve viewcounts befitting your subscribercount, if not many more. 👍

    I was just talking about Jin Air to one of my best friends who I got into eSports at the beginning of the year and shared this with her. Seeing this almost made me cry. I miss Jin Air 🥺
