    I am new in carving. Thank you so much for sharing this video and your instructions on how do precise cuts. It builds confidence in doing my spoon project. Blessings 😊

    I'm a complete novice. I don't have a safety glove. I don't have a thumb guard, but as a resident of the UK I do have free accident and emergency health care. All joking aside, many thanks for this nice clear and methodical video. It'll really help with the very first spoon I'll be carving today. P.S I'm commenting before starting to carve as I may not be physically able to use my fingers after carving. 😀

      How are your fingers 3 months later?

    Great demonstration video. Love how you are comfortable with your tools and do not have to have a huge variety of them to do these projects. Hope you post more carving videos soon.

    Thanks for these videos. Lots of information and easy to understand. I like these much better than the slick talkers who look like they are recording an infomercial!

    PJ, what was the size of the blank you started with? Also, are you guys selling aspen for carving now?

      @treelineusa  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Kent! This is just a small spoon and measures about 1" thick and 1 1/2" wide. We do have some aspen walking stick that work great for carving, but we do not have any blanks. Give us a call anytime and we would be happy to help!

    How do i get one of those Michael Jackson gloves? I'm right handed but my left hand is the one that always gets the cuts.

      Sorry, no white gloves with sequins : ) We do have some great carving gloves on our site. Here is the link the Red Armor Glove that we love to recommend. treelineusa.com/safety/wood-carving-gloves/

    How do you like carving with a straight edge knife?

      A gouge is an incredibly handy tool for many projects. Feel free to give us a call and we would be happy to visit about some of the projects you have in mind to see if a gouge would be needed. 1-800-598-2743

      You bought a kit, right? OK - you bought a kit with straight knives only. You need to buy a kit with a _spoon hook'. A gouge is nice but if you use a gouge it works best two-handed and so it is a good idea to put the spoon in a vice. But a spoon knife can be used single handed while you brace the spoon in your other hand. So - may I suggest the Beavercraft S13. If you are left-handed buy the Beavercraft S13L. It has a Sloyd knife, a tiny-blade detailing knife and a spoon hook. Also a leather strop and stropping compound. It comes in a very nice sage green carry roll. Hope this helps.
