This is the kind of video, TH-cam was made for. You explain your hobby from start to finish, using a calm and beautiful way to explain everything well and the calming music and your adorable dog make the video perfect. No clickbait, no exciting boss music or hyped voices.
First time on your channel! The light, the music, the narration, the company of a dog, and seeing the spoon brought out from the tree branch. So relaxing!
I almost fell asleep watching this video - not because it was boring, on the contrary, it was calming, yet useful. You should definitely keep doing so:)
I know you said in your video that you don’t consider yourself a teacher but this single video got me into spoon carving. Thank you so much for simplifying and making the hobby seem fun and explorative. I learned a lot for this video and I always come back to it when I need inspiration.
This was a fantastic video! It had just the right amount of info to get started. Loved that you were inside and your dog was their to keep you company. I hope you do more talking videos as I learned a lot from you. Charming and lovely! Thank you!
I am an artist myself. My medium is pottery. I found you craft mesmerizing to watch. Your video shooting and editing is in itself an artform. I am impressed.
Thank you 😁🙏🏾 pottery is a beautiful craft medium I made myself several pieces and I have a lot of respect and admiration to anyone who chooses it as their main medium of expression, hope to see you here again (:
I feel like I need to but I can’t rn, but i feel like it’s the right way to keep your brain busy and focus on other things, taking some time just for yourself
@@dosso96 I highly recommend you check out country workshops in North Carolina. Hopefully, they survived the hurricane's devastation. This was so therapeutic to watch. I’ve been wanting to carve spoons forever. I bought a whittling kit Last spring and am inspired to use it now! Thank you!
Thank you for this humble video. I am halfway through carving my first spoon for my mother's birthday next month, from a mandarin tree branch that fell in my yard after a storm. You gave me a lot of pointers, thanks again.
It's videos like this that TH-cam was made for documentary, calm , informative , sharing passion, no annoying editing and effects, no screaming and fake energy , these days TH-cam is filled with scamers selling courses and stupid challenges it's hard to find beautiful high quality videos like this just you and the video ❤️❤️🌱🙌
This is the first time I've watched any of your videos. I loved it! I've got the tools. I just didn't know where to start. You explained everything I had a question about. Thank you very much. You have a very beautiful voice. It was soothing, and I was able to concentrate on what you were saying. ❤
Hi Nadav , I like the way you calmly explained your art . Im new at carving to 1year or so , I find it fascinating how the grain runs, for me it's like a drug I can't stopas I enjoy it so much. Looking forward to your next videos
this video contains everything you need. Interesting content, good camera performance, high-quality sound. But the main thing is your style of explanation. It’s very nice that you pay special attention to safety precautions, like a good teacher who teaches the topic more broadly. Keep going, I think your efforts will pay off. Hello from Ukraine.
I've watched this video at least 6 times all the way through. I'm carving my first spoon in 9 years, needing a place to start again, myself, without my grandpa. I keep finding myself back here for insight.
The spoon is absolutely gorgeous and I enjoyed your calm narration with soothing music. The dog is super cool too. I live in Alaska so we have lots of wood available. I am just a beginner but I would like to learn more about the different types of wood. Thank you.
❤ So many positive comments that says it ALL! Two summers spent in AK & a wood shop owner (Sterling, AK) taught me much about wood - especially Diamond Willow. I have a sauce pan carved that he did & it's one piece handle included! It's a treasure. Having arthritis I never carved a lot but have many treasures by others. Never saw spoon carving until recently- this video being a real treasure. I have a great deal of appreciation of this work but at 80+ yrs I'm limited to just enjoying the video- it has great therapeutic value + +.. ❤ ❤ The 🐕 New sub
I loved every second of the video. Your narration was excellent and I don’t usually care for any voice over. But you explained things so well. Loved the way you respected the wood and nature and your obvious live for your beautiful dog, and his/her love for you. End result superb. Will look for more from you for sure.
I have had a yearning to carve a wooden spoon for years. I decided to see who had a spoon carving video on here. Third one in, and I found this one. So calming, lovely music, soothing voice, and adept crafting advice. I loved this video, and I really, really want to carve a spoon now. I hope you make more, so that I can watch more. Thank you. :}
Well done. I've been making spoons for a couple years and you have convinced me to seriously try a hook knife. I've been using gouges only for the bowl of the spoon. You have excellent controll with the knife and hook knife. I have taken a different direction and focussed on ways to hold the piece. I've built spoon mules and use a draw knife for all the rough carving. It impresses me to see the controll you have with your cuts.
It's both so soothing and also very inspiring. I've only just started spoon carving, but watching you carve makes me realise i should slowdown and make way smaller cuts towards the end. Thanks for the great video 😊
You can tell a lot about a person by the peace they project, his dog is so relaxed in his presence. The music was paired with this video perfectly. The carving of a simple spoon by thought; rendered by the hands. Soothing to the soul....
Your voice overs are great! As a beginner its great to see you technique (would love a video on this) as well as your philosophy of when to take off wood as well as why. Inspiring, thank you.
Thank you! Yes this video will come at some point 🤔 at the moment I’m trying to make a sharpening station that will be accessible for anyone who will watch the video

Thank you😊🙏🏾 and welcome to this journey (: I will make more of these videos but not all will be about spoons as I enjoy carving many different objects (:
Enjoyed your video very much: the narration, lighting and process. I've been carving spoons for 5 years and each teaches me something. Likewise, each carver has a method of work which is informative.
Happy to hear you enjoyed it😁 I agree also each piece of wood has a life of its own and it’s own way of teaching us how to work with it. The journey is still long and there’s still a lot more to learn!😁
I found this very relaxing. Nicely done. I’m just getting into the hobby and learning. Appreciate you sharing your techniques. I mean…who doesn’t like a nice wooden spoon and this is lovely.

This is the best spoon carving video I have seen. The close ups of the movement of the knife through the wood and how they react to each other is perfect and it's as if I was craving the spoon. Also the information on the carving tools is very helpful.

I really like the music and the way your video is narrated. The dog was a nice touch and I, too, liked the way you started with searching for the right branch. The spoon looks very nice with the walnut oil.
Thank you!😊🙏🏾 I’m really glad you liked it(:
