    That snapshot trick with the noise is INSANE. I had absolutely no idea 3ds max could do that. I learn so much from these. Proud to be a patreon!

    Fantastic...natural environment making is becoming easy and accessible through 3ds max tools without relying on external scripts and plugins....the snapshot was a hidden Gem and i love it..thank you Eloi

      snopshot - hidden? I remember this tool from 3dsMax 4.0 Polar snapping mode - this is what is "hidden"!

    Excellent as always!!! The displace trick is brilliant. Garment maker is also excellent for making/tessellating the mesh.

    Do i understand this right,when u said this video is sponsored by Autodesk they actually paid you to make this Video? If so then we really need alot more of those sponsored videos for all the different features and tricks in max. This way artists get paid, users get good tutorials and autodesk gets new learning material which will bring more users and money to the company, it's a win-win-win.
    Good job Eloi & Autodesk, i hope to see alot more of this

    Cool tutorial Eloi. Just as an extra tip.
    Instead of using the Slice and the Edit poly modifiers to get the shape, you can use a Section from the Create Shapes tab and convert it to a spline in one go.

    3:40 at this point, before adding Edit Poly node, I would suggest a Garment Maker modifier on that spline, as it makes the triangulation for the mesh, and you can bend it and squeeze it properly. 😁👍

    I noticed a glow effect in the viewport and the slice modifier settings look updated, is this the new 3dsmax beta build?

    Hey Eloi :) Thanks a lot for your really helpful videos! I´m still a beginner with 3ds max and VRay and I always learn a lot! Just one question: Is there any way to render out just the diffuse color of an object as separate Render Element so I can exchange the color of that object later in Photoshop? I´m always exporting Render Elements such as Reflection, MultiMatte, etc. but I couldn´t find a way to just export the diffuse color as one element. I have a project here where I was told to create multiple color variations, means in this case I just have to change the diffuse color of that one object in my scene. Do I really need to do one rendering for each color? Or is there a way to render once and swap the colors in Photoshop? Maybe there´s even a way with OSL? I have to admit I haven´t worked with OSL before, maybe cause that´s a bit more advanced?! Thanks a lot already for your help!

    • @SuperSuperka
      @SuperSuperka 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vray Diffuse filter probably is what you need. Also, for what you are trying to do - RAWTotalLightning is possibly needed, you then can multiply this element by VrayDiffuze filter, then add reflections, refractions, speculars.

    "I switched to Blender 2 years ago because max can't do anything. I used max for 5 years and I couldn't even make a teapot, that's how much it sucks. All studios in the world now use blender and no one uses max at all because it can't do anything" - sincerely, a Blender user.
