    Hi Ryan and crew from the U.K. I found this video really helpful when installing my Ohlins rear shocks on my 2020 Street Glide Special. Wow what a difference. It feels like a completely different bike. The handling has been transformed and I think I can fine tune them a bit more.

    I just installed these. Very pleased! I had an M8 Road King and did not catch that the Street Glide had shorter shocks during my impulse tradein / purchase. I never had a problem with the stock shocks, but did note they were a bit rough on unsettle roads ... but nothing I would complain about, generally. These new Ohlins gave me the 13" that I preferred from the RK, AND a really plush, yet compliant, ride. Win win. Thanks for making this video!

    I have the SE Ohlins rears and the Ohlins front on my Roadglide special . Bike is unreal on corners or carrying luggage

    I also bought the 13" shock for my Street Glide and found that the bike never held a line like it used to. I think the extra inch in the back, through off the geometry of the setup and it just never tracked like it used to. I went back to the 12" and all was well again in addition to a smoother ride. I found the Ohlin especially ate up the small bumps better than stock shocks.

      @frankbos6211 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes Douglas, raising the rear altered the trail of the front geometry causing what you experienced. If you could raise the front the same amount, you would be fine.

    Never understood why everyone takes both shocks off then the swing arm drops then you have to adjust the jack? I did one at a time without having to move anything.

    Great video! Which front running lights and mounts are those? They have that nice off-road look to them!

    Will these fit 2013 need help with this set up on 2013

    Does more preload make ride softer or more harsh? For example, does a 24mm preload provide a softer ride than a 28mm preload for same rider?

  • @jasonclark1223
    @jasonclark1223 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    This is an older video, but wanted to ask about why one shock fit and one did not. What were the measurements eyelet to eyelet on each shock, were they not identical length? Also shouldnt the distance from the swing arm to the fixed spot on bike be the exact same distance on both sides?

  • @alexhaines4673
    @alexhaines4673 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Does raising the rear up an inch affect belt tension?

    • @jimbeam4111
      @jimbeam4111 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have these. It doesn’t really affect belt tension from my experience. It’s still within spec. Basically the geometry becomes the geometry of the Ultra. IMO Harley shouldn’t put the 12 inch shocks on at all. The bike handles extremely better with the 13’s. I put these on my Road Glide Special and the 13 mono shock on my Street Bob softail.

    Have an 09 Street-glide believe I need hd 357 Ohlins, do they make different lengths.

    My shocks have "Ohlins" on both sides? Is this new and can they go on either side then as long as the nit port is facing rear?

    can these be used on a TriGlide

  • @johnsb1550
    @johnsb1550 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do these need to be adjusted every time something changes? Assuming for optimal suspension they would, but who is going to do that?

      On Ohlin's website. You have to go into the individual listing for the shocks. You'll find it at the bottom left of the product description.
