    I must say, your videos are very educational.
    I retired from sports almost a decade ago, most of the shoes that I wear today are either Italian or made in Spain.
    Recently, it hit me, I wanted to go for a run/workout, and I had zero workout shoes with the exception of some uncomfortable Kobe's. No disrespect to the Mamba, that's my guy, but the particular KB's that I own are rough on my feet.
    Anyway, I'm completely lost when it comes to new technology in reference to gym/ workout shoes. To be quite frank, it can be a little overwhelming. Your videos provide a clear explanation of the technology associated with each shoe and precisely what the shoe is designed for.
    Sincerely, much appreciated.

    I have been using the tempo since August (was injured Jan to mid March) I absolutely love the tempos I have had 3 pairs one I ran 650 mi in and still felt good. I would often find the shoe asking to go faster, I would pick up my long runs often finishing well under 6 min pace for the last few mi, I have also run 5ks in them and they feel great at 5:30 pace or even faster. Start to wobble around 5:10 pace though

    I currently run 10k and below in Nike Zoom Fly 3. My 10k splits are between 6:40-7:00. They have 220 miles on them now, so it wont be much longer before they get replaced. Trying to decide between he ZoomX Vaporfly Next, Saucony Endorphine Speed 2, or the Endorphine Pro. Or, could always grab another Zoom Fly 4. Thoughts??

    • @collinfay8012
      @collinfay8012 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ik this comment was a while ago, but I run in zoom fly 4s for everything on the road and distances over 1 mile at a time, and I run in Endorphin Pro 2s for anything shorter on the track. The fly 4s are great, but you start to see a fall off when you go around your “tempo” pace and the shoe feels a little heavy. If you run anything faster than mile pace, they feel like bricks lol. I’m looking for something in between for tempo days like vaporflies.

    Hey Jordan. Thanks for this. If I run 2-4 days a week, 3-7 miles out at a casual 10min/per pace. I already have a pair of 37s and love them. I'm a stocky athletic build and the biggest threat to a good run for me is too much shock on my knees during street runs. Which do you believe would be a good second shoe to challenge my runs but still keep me comfortable and performing? Thank you.

    The tempo next percents are on a sale rn so I could get those. The questions I have is could I use the tempo next% for cross country? And does this shoe perform well on trails and gravel? Well just any off road surfaces. I’m in high school btw. I don’t really know if there will be enough traction. These will also be used for everyday running. Also I’ve heard that there isn’t much ankle support on them, so I don’t want to hurt myself. Also is it good if I’m running mid 17s for a 5k, I’m an incoming freshman btw

    • @JordanThomasmedia
      @JordanThomasmedia  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't recommend these for cross country. Consider these as a nice to have. Considering you're high school, I would focus on getting a good daily trainer that can cover a wide range of paces and race spikes. You can build out a rotation as the season's move along.

    Great video and I will probably re-watch it and take notes. Nike's strategy of creating hybrid shoes is confusing. Even the people in the running shoes stores can't articulate what each shoe does best.These shoes are pretty exp$ive, so most athletes can't afford to have 3 pair of new Nikes, that each do something slightly different. Many runners now run in the Next % for tempo, track workouts and racing, and sometimes long runs. One expensive shoe that does it all.

    I love the Pegasus but in order to be able to run in the Alphafly on race day you'd better be training in a shoe with a lower offset

      in general for training I would pick the Peg 37. You might get some value out of the vaporfly for both of those distances for your specific time trial.

    It's so weird it has shifted from train in soft shoes and race in minimal. Now its the opposite.
    Btw, got 600 miles out of my Peg 37.

    • @JordanThomasmedia
      @JordanThomasmedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Wow! 600 thats big! Thats a good call out on the shift. In a lot of ways, I think has a lot to do with people focusing on road running and looking for ways to run longer with less injury. On the track its still pretty standard with more cushioning in training and then the least amount of material possible to run fast.

    • @QronoZ713
      @QronoZ713 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JordanThomasmedia True. And I think it's a good change. We see so many athletes now who are running superfast well up into their 50s. It has to some part be due to better equipment for us runners. I've heard of so many who could start running again after discovering Hoka, and now we see the max cush trend for all brands. I only wish the light weight trainer segment didn't disappear so much from Nike. The Elite, LT 4 and Streak are all really hard to find in the EU. And now the Turbo is discontinued...

      Adidas ultraboost or any boost. Running shoes are designed to work when there is force ie running. Boost works for running and standing around and walking. Try some on. You’ll feel it.
