Thank you for the review, I have been wanting to get into Necromunda for the past couple of years but the amount of rules spread throughout so many books kept me away. I am blown away how many house rules you have had to implement to balance out the rules which for a newbie like me is overwhelming to say the least. Also having to house rule many things is an indicator that there are quite a lot of problems in the rules which also I find it as a negative since I am in my 30s and I want to spend my hubby time not thinking how to change a rule. This new rulebook seems to fix quite a lot of these things and has won me as a potential customer.
On the skills changes, I was really hoping they'd bring back the N95 version of bulging biceps - haven't seen it mentioned among the changes though.

Looking forward to getting my book on Saturday. I agree that the change allowing underdog tailoring needs some modification. Tailoring to punish the player who has played better in a league can end up being feelbad for everyone, especially if you are doing it to assassinate their star crew members. Really like some of the other changes most likely taken from community feedback.
I want the stuff! Good to see some shifting back to the original gang founding
We always read the rule of if you're pinned you have no face, thus if you stand up to fight you are turning to face or changing your facing
Then you were doing it right all along!

4 months later and its still pretty much impossible und to get a copy ... I really wanted to finally start my journey into Necromunda and it was a grade A bummer to find out that one of the most important books for it can basically not be found anywhere.
Well guess I'll stick to painting gangs for now and purchasing house books.
It's been available online for free ever since then though tbh 😀

I was really hoping they'd do something to address the different types of flamers, and going above a hand flamer just not being worth it. Reduced cost, or extending out where the template starts, just something.
I'd love to bring back the old smaller hand flamer template myself
@@wellywoodwargaming yeah that would be nice but might be beyond what they'd be willing to do. But maybe having flamer and heavy flamers template start a few inches away from your model, counting the space between template and model as still part of the flame, could have been a way to "change" the template size.
Heavy flamers are cool, they're just really bad choices, even if not playing tryhard.
When you say "nobody starts with armor" does that just mean armor is rare now. The house of books still has all the armor each fighter has base access too?
This would make the inducement hive scum way worse to make a point about inducements being tailored towards your enemy. Unless they still get access to equipment beyond common stuff

Ok so with regards to the Pit Slaves the best options are to use then as the mercator Sanguis slaver entourage leading an outcast gang perhaps or just goliaths with a bit of gene smithing and appropriate weapons i reckon. You could also proxy as maybe genestealer cult at a push due to some of the mining weapons etc too

I want to avoid goliath as I used them in my last campaign
Book of the outcast (the best necromunda book imo) has rules for outcasts and of course all of the wyrd powers too 😀

Im confused as to why an out of sight charging model gets -1 to hit while the charged model doesnt. He's beeing charged from an unseen fighter, if that doesnt put you on the backpedal , what will?
Yeah that's the only really strange one for me too
I would use a Highlander/iron man for gang tactics, a 20 card deck custom deck, only one of any given card, every card used is removed from deck for the rest of the campaign

I loved the original Necromunda, ALL the rules in the rulebook, amazing. THE best setting in the 40K universe.
I was excited for the re-release (alternating activations) until, after spending heaps of money, I realised the rules were all over the place and there was a galaxy of books I would need to get them all (and cards.) ONCE bitten on that score, not falling for that again. AND no Scavvies, the most thematic gang in the whole game and my gang of choice.
Not keen on a second trip down that rabbit hole.

Thank you! I will say, though I agree with you overall, the new mechanics are definitely better imo, and the game is excellent once you're in there for sure. Appreciate that it's no way near as accessible and very bloated

lol - I heard someone say Poorhammer once and I love that vibe - I use eggboxes to transport most of my models & just made a Rattus Tatterskin from some kit swaps of old chaos cult bodies with skaven parts - saving money is spending time

hey Daimon, I've been enjoying a lot of your content recently (gang choice paralysis) but I find I have to watch at 1.5 or 2 times the speed. I know your gentle cadence is part of your charm but have you tried to speak faster? or slightly speed up the videos during editing? I say this because I don't have any other TH-cam content that I can listen to at 2 times the speed, that's my humble two cents.
That's really interesting feedback and I appreciate. However, most people do say quite the opposite, in that I speak too fast at times! Maybe I should put it to a vote 😄
hello does some previous books become useless?
Well it replaces the other rulebook for sure but all of the house books are still needed for the individual gang rules. Book of the outcast, outlands, ruin, peril and judgement are still worth having
The massive grenade nerf is the dumbest change they have made yet.
Clearly it was suggested and made by a cheese-monger Corpse Grinder player who didnt like the fact that his OP masks and Falsehoods had an actual weakness.
Anyone who thought this change was a good idea is obviously just a power gaming cheesewedge. Congratuiations, you ruined the game.
