Ray Stevenson's performance was so good and Baylan's story was so intriguing that it would be a shame to end it here. At first I didn't want them to recast but his story was the most interesting part, so I really want it to continue.

The episode was great. It tied off several storylines, Ahsoka has a place to settle down, Sabine can continue her training, Ezra's home with Hera, and he knows about the night sisters, the army of the undead and Thrawn's return, Shin will fit in well with the raiders, it's so unfortunate we won't get to see Ray continue Balan's story, as it just got really interesting. I hope they continue it in animation, I know that could cast a different actor, but I think the transition to animation would be smoother, the same way Anakin was played by both Hayden and Matt. Speaking of Hayden, he did so well as Anakin, I hope this isn't the last we'll see of him.

Thrawn predicting Ahsoka’s strategy based on what he knows of Anakin was really fun. When she said “Let’s try the front door “, I loved her confirming that and also what followed. Even when Ezra said “this is new” it almost felt more like Anakin and Ahsoka! Great reactions!

I dont know man, Luke blowing up the First Death Star might have earned him legendary Status. single handedly downing an AT-AT wasnt too shabby either.

Guys can we appreciate... just how far he got by himself ... he's leveled up ... stopping the lightsaber with the force ... then that jump ...

Amazing episode. And i so look forward to season 2. ♥
It was great to see Sabine letting go and finally using the Force. She was totally using the "blaster stance" from Jedi Survivor...hehehe
And amazing fight sequences all around, specially Ahsoka versus Morgan.
Also Baylan seems to be looking for something related to the mortis gods.
Also it seems those cofins are actually stasis chambers since Thrawn did woke up the three great mothers.
And like that there will be hundreds of new nightsisters repopulating Danthomir, just as Jedi are starting to poping up around the galaxy again.
Guess Ezra and Hera will have to deal with Thrawn and maybe taking that ship to rescue Ahsoka and Sabine. Also wonder if he will start training Jacen. Not sure if Hera would be okay with that knowing how much dangerous a Jedi's life can be

For those into classical music: The chord that sounds when The Mothers 'revive' the dead stormtroopers with the necromancy-chant, is the first chord of Saint Saëns's 'Danse Macabre"

A very good season overall. I see Shin turning at some point and Baylan will have to be recast for season two.

If you haven't, you really need to watch The Clone Wars and Rebels before Season 2 starts. That will explain a whole lot. Enjoy your reactions! Cheers, from across the pond!

The Zombie Night Troopers are not actually like Marrok. Marrok was a Wraith, bound to empty armor, the Night Troopers were actually raised as zombies.

Great reaction, Lads, to a very good Season Finale. Officially, Peridea has become one of my favorite planets in The SWU, right up there with Tatooine, Naboo, Lothal, Dalna, Pantora, Mandalore, Valo, and Coruscant. It is definitely, uniquely a nexus/focal point/fulcrum/hot bed of The Force, in all of its varying forms. Considering this planet is the first one We've ever seen Nightsister Magick, Zeffo Sith Sage/Warrior tributes, Mortis Gods statues, the Convor, Morai (representing The Daughter's spirit), and a Force ghost (of The Chosen One, no less) present, says A LOT about this particular place...and, this is just 1 planet in a brand new galaxy. Who knows what else is lurking and going on on the other planets within the solar system?! With Ahsoka and Sabine able to repair their Jedi Starship, they may very well make a short survey of the planets around Peridea's system. New heroes, villains, and antiheroes to encounter. Sounds like fun.
Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni (along with the tutelage and advice of George "The Maker" Lucas) have set up a very intriguing, interwoven, conflicted dynamic: The beginnings of the return of The Jedi in the universe; The New Republic becoming the prevalent presence in the known galaxy; a coordinated remnant of The Empire stirring in the shadows, while disparate Imperial warlords roam The Outer Rim; a resurgent, ambitious crime syndicate; a Pirate Nation becoming more of a prominent threat in the galaxy; and, in another galaxy, a metaphysical conflict is afoot, that could potentially destroy pretty much ALL that exists in BOTH galaxies. * And, to top it off (depicted in other, adjacent SW content, so far), We also have a growing group of members of The Church Of The Force, spreading the word of The Force; while another, shadowy group of adherents to the history and representatives of the power of The Dark Side Of The Force, The Acolytes Of The Beyond, seek out vestiges of the Dark Lords and Ladies Of The Sith, for use in malevolent acts against innocents, The Jedi, and The New Republic. Taken as a whole, this EPIC block of storytelling is WAY MORE POWERFUL and RELEVANT than what The (Disney) Sequel Trilogy had to contribute to The SWU. THIS is the true follow-up to George Lucas' 2 trilogies. In fact, I strongly believe that Dave Filoni's upcoming theatrical release motion picture "event film", will end up being the 1st in a trilogy under the moniker of The Mandalorian.
Again, it is so truly sad, that Ray Stevenson shined so brightly in this major SW story...yet, never lived to see the absolute love the fans have for his portrayal of Baylan Skolll. Without question, both he and the character will be long remembered. What Favreau and Filoni will do now...that's a question and decision I don't envy them in trying to figure out.
It was great to enjoy this special show with you, Stuart, Ross, and Rob. We'll pick this Sci-Fi space opera loveliness up again, when the next two tales in The Mandoverse come, in Skeleton Crew and The Bad Batch (Final Season).
May The Force Be With You...

@@LegendsofPodcasting Yeah. I was bummed out, too. I think that may be because Omega and what remains of Clone Force 99 will be soon showing up in live-action; perhaps by the time of Season 4 of The Mandalorian. I gotta believe that the truly horrific things going on over on Mount Tantiss MUST play a role in what The Remnant Empire is hatching, with Project Necromancer, and Moff Gideon's own personal cloning pursuits. I still say, Omega is a unique clone by The Kaminoans...able to procreate offspring that are already genetically enhanced to be superior beings (like something along the lines of Captain America and The Winter Soldier), who could be ready for all manner of military, spy operative, or (cutting-edge) sciences activity. She is meant to be "The Next Stage In Kaminoan Cloning"...hence, why she is named, "Omega", with Boba Fett being codenamed, "Alpha". That's a remarkable twosome, there; considering they both represent genetic reincarnations of Brother and Sister, Jango and Arla Fett. I can't wait for a 40-something Boba (finally) meeting an ever-so-slightly younger 40-something Omega. The personality, tactical, and physical sparks that could produce! Imagine them engaged in battle against an enemy...not good for the opponent. 🔫⚔

You know, I was gonna suggest Leiv Shreiber take over the role of Baylon, but then I remembered his performances in the Scream movies and X-men Origins, neither of which I enjoyed. But I haven't seen him in anything else, so who knows? Maybe he'd be good. But the pool of actors who can replace Ray Stevenson is small. Even if Star Wars didn't cast essentially every actor in existence, that pool is still incredibly small. And actors typically don't play more than one role in Star Wars unless it's purely voiceover work or background characters.

Kenneth’s likes and dislikes are irrelevant at this point, her track record has resolved that. Feloni is the future of the franchises going forward. It will be impossible for Luke and Leia to ignore Thrawn, they have to appear and deepfake costs too much, they will have to bite the bullet and recast the parts.

  • @Manx36

There won’t be any purrgil, they will get home the same way the morai got to where they are. The Mother is in exile on that planet, it’s why the dark Zeffo built there and Baylan is about to release her. The statues stand guard over where they trapped the Mother, the bringer of chaos. Doorways to the world between worlds exist on planets all over the universe, either Anakin leads Ahsoka to one, or the life force of the daughter leads Ahsoka to one.

There needs to be a season 2, and it's being talked about at Lucasfilm. There are too many loose ends to tie up that just putting it all on the Mandoverse movie to do so would make it too messy. 39:29 That's the Aftermath Trilogy, which takes place a year after Return of the Jedi but before The Mandalorian and any of the New Republic shows. Bloodline, The Rise of Kylo Ren, and Shadow of The Sith are books that add a lot of context to the sequel trilogy more than anything. 39:48 *And the old expanded universe was never canon, even before Disney bought Lucasfilm. George Lucas and Dave Filoni confirmed that in separate interviews* .

Every season of Rebels basically did, fitting that Dave would end it to this one as well. It’s not a Series Finale, just the beginning of next chapter in the Star Wars saga.

The 1 big complaint I have about this episode(it also applies to the last one for a different reason) is that I dont believe that Morgan is nearly good enough to put up that much of a fight against Ahsoka. Diana Lee Inosanto is 100% a better fighter than Rosario Dawson but I dont think that is true of their characters, when they fought in Mando Morgan got her ass beat the second Ahsoka actually started trying you can say Morgan is better with a sword than a spear so she did better in this and ok sure that makes sense but Ahsoka has trained her entire life to fight people with swords her sabers have curved hilts so they fit better in her hand making them better for dueling so she should have done even better against Morgan in this fight than she did in their first one. And the worst part is it seems like the same fucking thing happened in this fight where Ahsoka didnt start trying until she lost 1 of her sabers which was fine in Mando but it doesnt make any fucking sense in this since she had a time limit. So my thing with the last episode is that in her fight with Baylan the choreo was telling me 1 thing and the dialogue was telling me the opposite(at least to me anyway) what I mean by that is that through out the whole fight Ahsoka seemed to be kicking Baylans ass and he was just barely blocking her strikes in time and she was easily blocking his but then at the end she tries to punch him in the throat he catches it and says she cant beat him, at no point in that fight did it feel like she was losing

      @ianweech 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

Yeah, true, but Morgan got a power upgrade from the nightsisters and got a fancy new sword. So while I still don't think the fight should've lasted that long, I'm fine with Morgan holding her own. Plus, it was such an awesome looking fight.

One change that could have made Ahsoka so much better - REPLACE SABINE SURPRISE JEDI-HOOD with EZRA AND SABINE ROMANCE! But of course Filoni and George Lucas can’t write that thus bring in Claudia Gray of Lost Stars. Romance explains why she gave up the map, the couple goes home together so no trooper armor nonsense because they are found kissing each other thus no helmets and Ahsoka is alone on Peridea so we can have a real Ahsoka centric season 2 😊. Simple fix to Thrawn get Zahn 🎉 to co-write with Gray ❤, so that everyone can shine like Avengers(2012) instead of the gender bias where Sabine, Ahsoka and Night mothers outdo Ezra, Thrawn and Xiona. Baylan and Shin are good because of the balance and equality 😮. Baylan and Shin are good because of the balance and equality 😮. Gray and Zahn would fix writing illogic, more adult/child balance and weaving in the under developed parts(more answers) 😅 kkkjhgf

Man after Sabine realized her abilities and knew it was do or do not there is no try- I was hoping to see a dark side moment for her: maybe Morgan mentions to her about her dead family- maybe she force chokes Morgan while Ahsoka is screaming to her not to give into her anger and hatred. Man… that would’ve been better
