Sabine having force powers actually makes sense. She is a relative of Tarre Vizsla the Mando jedi who made the darksaber... we see her and her father standing in front of Tarre's statue in rebels when she was young and allready got hints that she was hearing voices no one else did in this scene. So it did not come as a surprise for me and didn't bother me.
I love @dave_filoni the show @ahsokaofficial and I love you Ezra Bridger @EmanEsfandi ❤️🔥🙌
Until we get confirmation, *this is the way* I understand.
*Operation Cinder* was a declaration of war to punish the Empire and send them to their deaths, win or lose. They were commanded to attack one another if they won, which is what *The Battle of Jakku* is about.
*The Night of a Thousand Tears* was supposedly before, or the beginning of *Operation Cinder.* The intent of that attack was to keep Mandalorians from taking or gaining power.
Another way to put it -- might be more correct??
Operation Cinder was punishment for letting Palpatine die. After attacking powerful targets and taking away as much power as they could, they were to fight each other. The last man standing was the *Heir to the Empire.*
The casting in Ahsoka for Ezra Bridger was perfect Eman Esfandi the actor had all the characteristics from Ezra Bridger down from Star Wars Rebels 10/10
It sucks that Ray is gone but Baylan needs to be recast. It would be a disastrous story decision to simply write him off. He’s too important to the story
Liev Schreiber. He looks very much like him and is
Similar size.

Exactly, Filoni has planned this story before Rebels even finish airing, he will not abandon it.
Dominic Purcell is who's being thrown around currently as the person that they will use.
@@briansview2886Great choice!
I think too many people viewed this as a series finale and not a season finale.
Nailed it.
Yes. FAR TOO MANY. I don't think some of these viewers understand what episodic storytelling is. It would be like audiences getting upset by the ending of TLOTR: The Fellowship Of The Ring, because it didn't resolve everything.
Even if it was a series finale it’s Star Wars..😂 they do that all the time and end up telling the rest of the story years later 😅 we will eventually find out❤
We all know it’s setting up the movie.

If Thrawn thought Anakin's former padawan was a threat, wait until he comes across Anakin's kids! 🤣
Thrawn was afraid of anakin's strategy not his bloodline. He doesn't have to give af about luke and leia since they're nothing like their father luke barely knew anakin. I would even dare to say ahsoka is more anakin than luke ever was so thrawn doesn't have to worry about another anakin

Despite only having one scene, the hype that Baylan Skoll's last appearance gave me was incredible, we will all remember you Ray Stevenson, you and your character were one of the best in the series and what Disney has done with the franchise, dialogues, design , battles, mysteries, presence, what will they do with it now? I don't know, I just ask that it lives up to Mr. Stevenson and this character.
I saw a few mentions on Reddit how Liev Schrieber could be a decent recasting for Baylan.
@ThunderRice I think the best thing would be to have shin take up baylon's quest instead of trying to replace ray
@@ThunderRiceI've also seen people saying Dominic Purcell.
They can still return him in season 2.
@@Megawapsnot rlly man, he’s dead
Ahsoka definitely saw Anakin when she looked back the second time (after Sabine's comment). She smiles, looks away, then looks back at him nodding before pulls back to show Anakin's ghost.
Eric, the way you wear your heart on your sleeve, fanboy with no remorse, and show such emotional connection to Star Wars is a huge part of what makes the Blind Wave experience for me. Please never change.
I love how when the ship is shot down, Thrawn says it's nearly impossible to be stopped, but he knows Ahsoka is Anakin's padawan, so he immediately prepares ground troops
My favorite reaction to Ezra grabbing the Night Trooper com was “Ezra’s back on his bullshit”
I bet no one else realized that chants for Morgan's baptism and the resurrection were the exact same as recited by Old Daka in the Clone Wars episode "Massacre"
They were the exact same that Talzin recited when bringing back Ventress to the clan as well.
The last shot of Baylan is very symbolic to me, not sure if they intended it to be like that but him standing on the finger pointing to the light with Ray Stevenson passing just gets me
Bruh, I'm pretty sure they didn't intend for him to die before he actually did.

I always interpreted Morai as always showing up on whatever planet Ashoka happened to be on "somehow". Not that it actually traveled with her, but had it's own way of getting around. Maybe access to World Between Worlds of its own nature. Maybe all owls have this ability like the Wolves of Lothal.
Well considering the fact that Morai is the one that guided Ezra to the correct portal to save Ahsoka, I would say that’s pretty accurate.
Isn't the Morai supposed to be connected to the Daughter? This planet seems to tie in with the Mortis trio somehow, so perhaps this is its home world too anyway.
@@AmazingChi I believe so. Morai seems to have come around after the Daughter gave her last bit of energy to resurrect Ahsoka. I believe that is what Morai is, that last bit of the Daughter watching over Ahsoka.
This ending gave A LOT of credence to both theories of Balan seeking either "the son" or "the mother"
definitely the Mother. she’s likely the source of the Night Sisters’ magic, and nearly free from her imprisonment after the deaths of the Father and Daughter
Given he wants to end the cycle of light and dark he's probably going for the mother.
100% the mother.
He might be manipulated into freeing the spirit of the son that was locked away. It could possess him. The Mortis Arc was about keeping him locked away so he wouldn't be unleashed on the galaxy. So his spirit would have been locked away there for like the last 40 years which might be why the witches want to flee now. It could also be why the planet seems like its dying. Then again it could be the mother too. Only time will tell
There's no way they aren't doing Abeloth.
I love the title because just like The Lion, The Witch, And the Wardrobe…. This season was an ENTRY point for the larger world
A small but really cool detail I loved is that all the night troopers that stayed were all willing to stay behind. Thrawn's most commendable trait was his patience and even comradery with his subordinates in Legends and it's cool to see that carries over to canon. It's what makes Thrawn so effective as a commander too
I've seen a weird amount of other reactors insisting that he doesn't care and sees them all as expendable... It's like they're watching another show.

Remember in the end of Rebels when Ezra confronted and defeated Thrawn, he killed two stormtrooper's in black armor. That might possibly be the two "zombie" stormtroopers he and Sabine had to fight.
Diana Lee Inosanto is absolutely incredible, her dad Dan is an awesome guy too she’s Bruce Lee’s goddaughter so
Wasn’t 100% sold on her character or perhaps the writing for her character, but her fighting ability was absolutely incredible. One of the best lightsaber duels in Star Wars.
I loved that she got a weapon that can block a lightsaber where she can touch the blade. It made her combat sequence REALLY stand out even on top of her exceptional talent.
Yes!! I was looking forward to her choreography fight and this was pretty good, which makes sense considering she has actual combat training.
Her acting wasn't great (comparable to Samuel L. Jackson as Mace Windu in the prequels imo), but there's no doubting her skill as a martial artist!

The casting for Ezra Bridger was perfect 10/10 as Eric said 🔥🙌
loved how Sabine went all "John Wick" when fighting those Night Troopers
I think the most interesting thing about this episode was how it emphasized the importance of the bond between the master & apprentice. It's Ahsoka not believing in and trusting Sabine the way Anakin did for her that makes Sabine not believe in herself, which is what holds her back, and why she learns how to trust herself as soon as that belief returns.
Like with the "I try" and then "I do" line, it's just like in TESB when look says, _"I dont believe it."_ to which Yoda says, _"That is why you fail."_ Even Huyang emphasized the importance of those bonds when talking to Ezra.
This is especially interesting with Shin being a thematic foil to Sabine, as Baylon trusts her to be on her own but Shin doesn't feel ready for that yet. It'll be interesting to see how those reflections work as they and their masters both embody a path not quite classic Jedi or Sith.
Especially as the sequel trilogy was about masters learning how to have their students grow beyond them, this feels like the important connective tissue to help establish those themes.
(Personally, I feel like seeing the massive carvings of the Father & Son, but with the Daughter destroyed is setting up for the scenario of bringing the Force into balance in a way that will foreshadow how Rey awakens in balance to Ben and carrying on that legacy of the Force, especially since their earlier encounter foreshadowed the fall of the Jedi Order and the original/prequel trilogies).
I think they'll definitely start doing a lot more leg work to connect the sequels thematically and otherwise to the rest of star wars. I could see the upcoming stuff with the mortis gods, or whenever they go with that to connect to palpatine and some of that stuff they didn't really explain at least not well in the sequels
Sabine was a terrible character, not telling Ezra what happened from the start so he can be prepared, she just keeps putting everyone in danger, her own planet and now the universe, taking the map from Ahsoka and letting Baylan took it from her.
If instead the show was about Baylan and his path, that was a better story to tell, the show was always better when he was on screen because it was something new, then the show goes back to Sabine and Ahsoka doing fan service, self referencing Filoni's work, with bad dialogue and bad editing, those silent moments with no dialogue are so cringe
@@MarcoBayod_MB cry more
@@BaldwinIV_of_Jerusalem is actually what I'm doing
it doesn't, it just shows Sabine sacrificing Ezra after dooming the galaxy out of her stupidity
member' berries to Anakin doesn't work here
Sabine problem was not that she never had the Force, its that she was closed off from it, mostly due to herself. This is what Kanan told Hera in Rebels before he decided to train her. Its why Ahsoka told Sabine that being a Jedi was not about being able to wield a lightsaber, a weapon, its about more. Sabine, being Mandalorian (weapons are their religion after all) would naturally assume so, and Ahsoka knew that, its why she told he to "trust in the Force", because ultimately, Sabine would only be able to connect and listen to the will of the Force if she finally truly let go, and trusted it. This is what she did.
It's a little weird when these things have to be explained to people who consider themselves die-hard Star Wars fans😄.
Tarre Vizsla was the first Mandalorian Jedi so I think that Sabine got her ability from her family lineage. Sabine is from Clan Wren, House Vizsla.
That's a highly possible and interesting connection of Sabine being force sensitive through family lineage.
Kanan literally said she wasn't force sensitive in rebels.

The Ezra force push jump scene reminded me of the same combo with Maul in Rebels to get the Sith Holocron, these things are always so nostalgic and lovely thanks Filoni damnnnnn
Found it interesting that in Mando we have a Jedi in Grogu becoming a Mandalorian and in Ashoka we have Sabine a Mandalorian becoming a Jedi.
Both being absolutley stupid
Sabine went from not being able to use the force to being 1000% confident she could push Ezra across the sky...cool...and very convenient
Well yeah. She used the force once, so she knew she could use it again. Its called confidence. And this is a story Filoni wrote years ago. Before completing Rebels. These are his characters, he created them. If he says Sabine can use the force, she can use the force.

I didn´t like her that much dodging the Troopers shots, but the battle between Ahsoka and Morgan was incredible!
Her fight scenes are alright. It would’ve been better if she uses reverse grip more and a little acrobatic. Because that’s literally her fighting style and how agile she is. Maybe too much cgi to use lol
@@livederad6805I think it's mostly because Ahsoka's agile fighting style requires a lot of space to be able to move in and most of her fights in this show were in very tight spaces where she couldn't utilize her fighting style to her complete advantage. I did notice tho that in her second fight against Baylon she wasn't letting him gain space and was very more up close in combat which is where she thrives so that was cool.
@@livederad6805obviously we know ahsoka to be more agile, but remember that she originated in animation there are things you can do in animation that you cannot do in live action and considering that ahsoka is now in her mid-late 40s and so is the actress they had to slow her fighting style down. So although the fights are not perfect they are a lot better than we have seen in live action since Disney bought star wars.
@@sortascouseace I disagree. The live action Rurouni Kenshin movies proved that you actually can do fights on that level. You just gotta train for it, along with having a really competent fight choreographer and action director.

Baylan's story has to be leading towards Abeloth surely, the mortis hints, the death/night sister magic being focused on, the flashing light at the end which was Abeloths MO for attracting force users to her, this series has felt a bit more 'horrorey' than normal all makes me think Abeloth which would be awesome.

Thank you to Ray for taking his few minutes of screen time and searing that character onto our hearts; Baylan's popularity is a testament to his acting, the directing, and the writing. I'm calling it now, Peridea is Legends Zonama Sekot and they will bring the planet to the home galaxy to defeat Thrawn's undead army; ultimately Thrawn's death will come at the hands of the Nightsisters.
I LOVE that the missing piece he needed was the same as his father. 🥹
As a grown man seeing Anakin at the end watching over Ashoka as a force ghost almost brought tears to my eyes. Hopefully going forward this won’t be the last time will see Anakin
“Just shadows in the star light” is such a cool line.
It's also a title for the latest High Republic book.
I’m sure someone has already said this but there music at the end when Ahsoka turns and it pans to Anakin’s force ghost and over the credits is “When the Sun sails and the Moon walks” from the last episode of Rebel S2. It forget where exactly it plays in the show but it never ever fails to make me tear up.
What a fantastic season. The best bit of live action Star Wars for me for decades.
We already knew Merrin wasnt the last Nightsister there is another who has only been mentioned twice named Jerserra she was trained by an Inquisitor who she eventually killed and she then became a mercenary. Her first appearance was in a book with... questionable cannonicity called Ghosts of Dathomir an adventure for a Star Wars ttrpg that contained stuff from both canon and legends but then she was mentioned in a canon encylopedia so she is a canon character
Also, there's Bug from a short story collection.
at 37:00 when Baylon is stepping forward and the camera is at his back you can see a light faintly pulsing on the peak of a mountain in the distance. The father's hand is pointing at it. Season 2 story!
I personally viewed the force ghost as Anakin looking on in peace. Ahsoka, even in a loss, is in high spirits and will remain by her padawans side through anything. Anakin finally feels his teachings have passed on & Ahsoka’s memories/relationship with him are patched up. He’s at peace.
Morgan is played by Diana Lee Inosanto - She literally is a martial artist... Who has done a load of stunt fighting... that's why she didn't need a stunt double. And yes... She is awesome!
Ezra talking about Kanan and having his emitter as part of his third lightsaber was one of my favorite scenes in the show ❤ you can feel the love and reverence he has for him even if you haven’t seen Rebels
Kanan was the best.
Let's be honest : Them stormtroopers went above and beyond their duties.
40:00 I think anakin based on the little smile at the end is not there for any major reason.
Its more symbolic of his earlier lesson about carrying the torch and legacy from each master to apprentice, and showing it has happened as Asohka and Sabine have mended their bond.
Ahsoka thinking Sabine could go to the dark side over losing her family/people/planet makes sense with where Ahsoka's head was at from Anakin turning to Vader (and why she wouldn't train Grogu).
But now that she's resolved that so to speak, I like to think her new faith in Sabine helped Sabine access Force powers, in a small way.
Very unlikely but imagine the father statue is pointing at where Abeloth is locked away/her cave.
I mean there being a statue of the father points towards this idea
I was surprised that Ezra build his lightsaber the same way as Kanan did, as well as Sabine use the force! And last but not least Anakin came back as a force ghost!
I'll say it: those zombie stormtroopers were freaky, and I bet some kids will be doing that for Halloween this year. It was a good first season, and really did tie up some lose ends in preparation for the next season, which will be a combination of the New Republic taking on Thrawn once and for all as well as mounting a rescue party to get Ahsoka and Sabine back. There will, and should, definitely be a showdown of sorts between Thrawn and Ahsoka/Ezra in the end.

Eric’s wisdom from last year where he saw the Mando episodes of Boba Fett as part of a larger story holds especially true today. Thanks for helping teach us that big guy!
Thrawn’s point about “maybe this is where a ronin belongs” fits for what was set up for both Ahsoka and Sabine at the beginning of the show.
Sabine in that speeder segment at the beginning shows how she desires space from everyone. Charging into seemingly a vast unknown.
Ahsoka has apparently been wandering the galaxy but not staying anywhere too long. Like she’s out of place in the new republic.
I really like this treatment of, yeah the heroes got left behind, but they were supposed to. This is where their journey is meant to lead. They could have very easily made this a dramatic existential ending about them being trapped. Mad respect the show runner’s didn’t do that.
"There will be no negotiating with the apprentice of Anakin Skywalker" that line is so damn cold
That Anakin scene at the end honestly made me tear up
I'm not crying, you are
I believe the mother of the mortis gods is calling him, It would make sense the most since the mortis gods did leave the mother behind entrapped on a planet somewhere to contain her once she became not mortal anymore and she became pretty much the embodiment of evil.
If it's Abeloth, they are all sooooo screwed...
@@XivioOfTheGreen THATS WHAT IM SAYYYYING!!! If they are gonna bring back Abeloth im very interested to see how they do it seeing as how her story was never finished due to disney buying lucasarts. There are 9 whole books dedicated to Luke and friends fighting her.
I feel that Ahsoka and Sabine were always meant to stay on Peridia.
To balance out the force, two Darksiders have to be balanced with two lightsiders.
It only makes sense that Thrawn & Ezra arriving together, would also be destined to leave together, they're very intertwined.
Great reaction as always!. It´s going to be a long wait until the next season. So much more still to develop in this history!. My best regards.
I’m so heartbroken Ray won’t be able to continue his story and I hope whoever they recast it they do him every bit of justice
Man, I love this show. It introduces a bunch of interesting things, and new possibilities to explore.
I’d like to see Ahsoka and Sabine’s adventures in this new galaxy. I’d like to see Ezra training Jacen. I’d like to see Baylan’s path. I want to know what the new threat is that Thrawn is gearing up to fight (I’m thinking it might be Abeloth). I’m excited for Season 2.
Rest in Peace Ray Stevenson, you will be greatly missed.
Kept refreshing youtube for your reaction! 🎉
If Star Wars can have crime slugs, it can have anything.
Thank you again for creating a great, giddy and happy place to get excited for Star Wars!
Talzin used that blade to fight mace windu at one point
In the show or a book/comic?
the clone wars
Oh the stories yet to come!
Remember Clone Wars. During the Mortis ark the Father wanted Anakin to take his place. I think Ahsoka is supposed to be the embodiment of the light side of the force. So if the family is strong her then maybe thats why Anakin can manifest here.
Sabine, Force wise could be like the character Zayne Carrick from the old republic era he could use the force but never was that great at it, trained with the Jedi but left (huge story behind that) and just traveled with friends around the galaxy and did good
I really loved this finale and show and can’t wait to see what Filoni has planned for the future. What happened with Ray Stevenson is such a tragedy and it’s especially sad given what plans they obviously had for his character. Him standing on the finger of the Father and staring out to a literal white light felt cathartic and so heartbreaking. It’s so sad that he isn’t here to see how much everyone loves his character and appreciates his nuanced performance. I super appreciate Lucasfilm keeping his Mortis plotline in this show and not cutting things as studios tend to do to not promise anything for the future. After some thought, I agree with a recast, but I also think Baylan was a great character BECAUSE of Ray’s performance. This show brought me so much joy and reinforced how incredible of a character Ahsoka continues to be.
Also, Kevin Kiner needs to score Dave’s movie because he was the MVP of this whole show.
idk why but its been on my mind we all know that skoll chases the sun and hati chases the moon in the myth. but what i find interesting is last episode skoll had a black howler probably indicating he’s chasing the darkness instead of the light and hati had a white howler probably indicating she’s chasing the light. and what if the thing skoll is chasing for is abaloth
the end credit music for this finale is a new version of It's Over Now from Rebels S2 finale
Skoll is the name of the wolf in Norse mythology that chases the sun across the sky... Maybe Balin is trying, to be, or is seeking the Son... especially if Ashoka is the Daughter, and Anaikin the Father
Hell yeah, been waiting for this reaction. What an INCREDIBLE finale for an INCREDIBLE season. I need season 2, like…now 😍
At first I was confused by Chopper backing up then casually wheeling his way to that “Trooper”. After I realized it was Ezra I realized he was walking up to him with “Where The $#%^ You Been?!”
Diana Lee Inosanto is from a family of martial artists, and, stunt performers. She is a trained martial artist herself, having studied Jeet Kune Do under her father, who was trained by the master, Bruce Lee himself.
Good episode, but didn’t feel completely satisfied, I was so glad Ezra built and used a new lightsaber, the fighting was on point, loved seeing anakin force ghost at the end, didn’t get enough shin and baylen though.
