I thought it was dumb and he was never going to finish it, he built it in three weeks and it worked like a charm. I was impressed.

I'm a boomer and would say this is hot rodding at its finest. Innovative and well done. It would really be cool if there was a way to send a shaft rearward and make it AWD. To be honest a big power 4 cylinder in rear wheel drive would be an awesome handling car - with appropriate suspension. The hobby is alive - well done young sir.
very much the same spirit of the mustang in 2Fast 2Furious where they dropped the RB26DETT into the '67 chassis for the race down the mountain. any big power motor in any old classic chassi that keep the classic metal on the road is a a win in my book. from the mavricks to the mustangs and the caprices to the camaros. keep em all alive.. there are 10s of thousands of wrecks in junkyards that are ripe donors for this sort of build... theres needs to be sooo much more of this.

The dude at the 5:02 mark... I'm torn, I love the idea of keeping these body shells running and on the road. Still props to the creator for trying something really unique. If I were to do something similar, I'd love to see a Honda engine mounted longitudinally in a RWD Mustang in an FR drivetrain configuration (in a hypothetical scenario where I have the skills, money, time and other resources needed to do this, that I am currently lacking).
Also, regardless of whether I like it or not, the skills, and dedication required to modify a car this much are definitely commendable.... Props to this dude (and to whoever else helped him) do all this work to this Mustang.

I mean I'd have run the fwd running gear in the trunk and made it rear engine rwd if I was putting that much effort into the build, the fwd part was the only thing I was seriously Ehh about. context: I'm building a 67 Camaro with a C5 Corvette drivetrain, so building a custom frame for an independent suspension and transacle in a straight axle RWD car isn't completely out of sorts

If the shell of any antique car isn't going to be restored otherwise, isn't a good candidate for restoration, or "just good for parts" I'd much rather see ANYTHING happen to it, than nothing,or to go to scrap. It's a good solution for cars with lost paperwork.. I love this, I want to see more stripped and rusted parts cars turned into things like this.

I’ll be honest, “that’s the spirit of hot rodding” was a top tier compliment. Might not be in love with the engine & FWD choice but it is insanely unique! Could see this being a very cool auto cross toy with a proper setup!

Not my personal taste but I definitely love it enough to become a new subscriber when I first seen it. If it's not all wheel drive, I would definitely look into making that happen at some point !
@@badcam7663 no as 1. the first mustang was equipped with a straight 6cyl and marketed towards women(i.e. The secretary's car. 2. most mustangs sold didn't have v8s under the hood and it isn't even close either over 3/4s sold are not equipped with a v8. 3. Making it fwd is my main beef, rwd is just as easy and awd would've been almost unique in comparison to this. Regardless it's the owners $ blood sweat and tears not mine. Further I can appreciate the engineering&effort required to make it work.

this reminds me of my dad's current build he's working on, but it's the opposite haha He's swapping a 6.1L Hemi into an 83 Datsun 280zx! The one plus side is that everyone seems to absolutely love it! Once it's finished it will be his daily driver too which I still can't get over
That's a really great swap! Even better than what i did. I swapped a 4vylinder redblock volvo engine into my 73 Nova hatchback. It draws a lot of attention and just like yours it seems that more people appreciate it being different than outright hating it. Really cool that you kept it FWD, that to me is the best part of the build. Ratty for the win, my Nova is still it's original patina. I hope you enjoy it for a long time, it certainly makes me smile. Some people believe they should never be changed up, some people love the mix. I imagine a reversal like that in an import themed show would see the same percentage of "I love it/I hate it" comments. Those people who understand true hot rodding never care about the combos, people who are attending a brand specific show are already predisposed to not like it. As a Boomer, I love it.

Just in case anyone wants to know Honda is an American owned car co made mostly in America owed by American embassy motor co. It was the first Japanesse and only Japanesse car co bought by an American co. Honda establidhed in 1962 and sold in 1980.

I'm 46, i lived ate and crapped Hondas from the late 90s to 2010s. My dad is/was a hot rodder, It absolutely amazes me that there are kids in their 20s on this planet that can look at that car and be shocked and upset about this lool. Good work man. This is a true rat rod, i love it.
I grew up driving old muscle cars and love them. However, the car I had the most memories with was a 1997 Honda Civic. I beat the hell out of that car on the drag strip, top end runs (I wish it had a 6th gear), and driving everywhere and it never broke. 6 thousand plus clutch drops were so much fun. You did some great work there combining both! The front wheel drive burnouts are awesome!!! Keep up the great work.

I love the difference between the people just enjoying it and looking at the car, and the complainers who look around for validation… every… single… time. They say something negative, and immediately look around for attention and validation. The other half, who are just enjoying it are just taking pictures, looking at the work and details, or sharing it with so else. The people who complain seem like the majority because they’re the loudest and feel the need to share their negativity with as many people as possible meanwhile happy people just keep to themselves because they’re having fun.

The dude at the 5:02 mark... I'm torn, I love the idea of keeping these body shells running and on the road. Still props to the creator for trying something really unique. If I were to do something similar, I'd love to see a Honda engine mounted longitudinally in a RWD Mustang in an FR drivetrain configuration (in a hypothetical scenario where I have the skills, money, time and other resources needed to do this, that I am currently lacking).
Also, regardless of whether I like it or not, the skills, and dedication required to modify a car this much are definitely commendable.... Props to this dude (and to whoever else helped him) do all this work to this Mustang.

context: I'm building a 67 Camaro with a C5 Corvette drivetrain, so building a custom frame for an independent suspension and transacle in a straight axle RWD car isn't completely out of sorts

If the shell of any antique car isn't going to be restored otherwise, isn't a good candidate for restoration, or "just good for parts" I'd much rather see ANYTHING happen to it, than nothing,or to go to scrap. It's a good solution for cars with lost paperwork.. I love this, I want to see more stripped and rusted parts cars turned into things like this.

Being a old Honda lover and yet a Mustang enthusiasts I can definitely say it's a cool build, you will catch alot of hate from Mustang guys because a majority of them hate imports but with how gas prices are and being different you knew the reaction you were going to get...

I’ll be honest, “that’s the spirit of hot rodding” was a top tier compliment. Might not be in love with the engine & FWD choice but it is insanely unique! Could see this being a very cool auto cross toy with a proper setup!

@@badcam7663 no as 1. the first mustang was equipped with a straight 6cyl and marketed towards women(i.e. The secretary's car.
2. most mustangs sold didn't have v8s under the hood and it isn't even close either over 3/4s sold are not equipped with a v8.
3. Making it fwd is my main beef, rwd is just as easy and awd would've been almost unique in comparison to this.
Regardless it's the owners $ blood sweat and tears not mine. Further I can appreciate the engineering&effort required to make it work.
As the owner of both a 1965 mustang and a 1998 Integra GS-R I LOVE LOVE LOVE this build.

Tom don’t feel bad I’ve got a 1979 Trans Am I put a 3.1 L V6 five-speed. The Pontiac 400 I had was gonna cost me 30,000 to build. My thing is go in or go broke. Money is not growing on trees for people like us anymore. You have impressed me with the Mustang and the Honda put together. this reminds me of my dad's current build he's working on, but it's the opposite haha He's swapping a 6.1L Hemi into an 83 Datsun 280zx! The one plus side is that everyone seems to absolutely love it! Once it's finished it will be his daily driver too which I still can't get over

As a heavy muscle car enthusiast, I can honestly say that is an awesome build.
That's a really great swap! Even better than what i did. I swapped a 4vylinder redblock volvo engine into my 73 Nova hatchback. It draws a lot of attention and just like yours it seems that more people appreciate it being different than outright hating it. Really cool that you kept it FWD, that to me is the best part of the build. Ratty for the win, my Nova is still it's original patina. I hope you enjoy it for a long time, it certainly makes me smile. Just in case anyone wants to know Honda is an American owned car co made mostly in America owed by American embassy motor co. It was the first Japanesse and only Japanesse car co bought by an American co. Honda establidhed in 1962 and sold in 1980.

You saved the mustang from rotting it’s life away. You had the skill to mount the mustang body onto the Honda chassis. That’s a feat in itself. Such a sick car 🤝🏻

I grew up driving old muscle cars and love them. However, the car I had the most memories with was a 1997 Honda Civic. I beat the hell out of that car on the drag strip, top end runs (I wish it had a 6th gear), and driving everywhere and it never broke. 6 thousand plus clutch drops were so much fun. You did some great work there combining both! The front wheel drive burnouts are awesome!!! Keep up the great work.

I love the difference between the people just enjoying it and looking at the car, and the complainers who look around for validation… every… single… time.
They say something negative, and immediately look around for attention and validation.
The other half, who are just enjoying it are just taking pictures, looking at the work and details, or sharing it with so else.
