Love seeing these old truck restored and not tricked out like some trashy hotrod ghetto ride.

Oh wow, what a beautiful restoration! Like other people commented, I'm so glad you kept it so original! It's such a stunning old truck - it would have been criminal to make a hotrod of it! Well done - a great job!
Nice job! I have only one issue with it, and you can correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the wood beds come from the factory painted black? It's a common mistake in old Chevy truck restorations because, in the modern era, everybody loves that natural wood finish. Back then, all they cared about was whether or not the truck could do its work.
Thanks for not jumpin on the cookie cutter restomod band wagon, this is now 👌 a rare 🚚 truck, restored to factory 🏭 specs.

YES! I get SO sick of the "street Rod" conversions of these vintage trucks!
Extremely well done. Now it's original still but better than new. Thank you for keeping the 6cyl inline engine. In my opinion they are much better than V8's. This car had an excellent base, nearly no dents nor rust holes. Congrats.
For my kind of taste the old rustic look was nicer respectively with more character. When I was young the more "Pebble Beachier", the better. Nowadays I prefer if it is technical completely overhauled but the look is still "shabby chic". Not rat rod like, more like Mustie1's "Crusty", a fantastic old original VW single cab transporter for example. Or Coldwarmotors super cool fabulous green daily driver Frazer/Kaiser (except 1 door of it). ;-)

I had a '49, the same color, with cab-corner windows.
I painted it with a brush, and lined the box with plywood. :)
Grandfather painted his old truck with household enamel and a brush. Turned out a lot better than I expected.
@@garymoore8711 Somebody told my dad that he couldn't paint his van with a brush. He answered, "I paint my house with a brush, why can't I paint my van with a brush?" He only did that with that one van, though.
I painted all my vehicles with a brush, but my kids kind of hated me for it. :(

When varnishing wood the end grain is the most important spot , it looks like new nice job

Beautiful job! Outstanding work. The only modifications that I noticed were tube-type shocks and updating the master cylinder.
I like the truck BUT love the way it was at the first guess I like the old school patina.

Qué me gusta de esta restauración? Qué respetaron su apariencia original y no se les ocurrió colocarle ruedas anchas, rines brillantes y bajarle la altura a ras del piso, como hacen muchos otros por ahí. Bien por eso. Felicitaciones.
