  • Race 2 from the weekend. Had a great start and then made a couple of mistakes which meant I fell back.
Little did I know that what I thought was a headwind on the straights was actually something worse.....
Also picked up a huge vibration which shows on the camera. Possibly diff but lets see....

The Spitfire diff was always a weak point on a Vixen. But better that than the g/box. A longer diff (3.89 or 3.63) would be a bit stronger as less teeth and therefore a bit more metal in the CW&P. However a vibration may just be a UJ. Nice race though, I didn't notice any lack of pace. Seemed to keep those pesky Elans honest until the long straights. Then it's just physics being lighter with more power. I'm still impressed how you gain so much under braking & thru the corners. Maybe a longer diff would keep you closer on the straights ??

Yeah I’m going to check out all the UJs but the diff looks to have a lot of free play so may be due a rebuild. The Elans are almost in touching distance. Hopefully I can get it back in for Cadwell. Should have a lot of fun there!

How's the new seat and pedal position feeling? Can't get over how good that's sounding now!

It’s great actually. I suddenly noticed towards the end of race two I hadn’t even thought about the seat or pedals which is usually a good sign! Seat is way more supportive
