I really appreciate that. Yeah, it did take a LONG time to make. I hope this video helps others come up with their own EDC systems and bounced around ideas. I've certainly got a lot of influences from others on YT. It's a honor to be a part of the community.
The GoLite ultralite rain jacket fits absolutely great! It is the perfect size for me. The sleeves and overall length almost feel tailor made for my torso. I am extremely happy with the fit, quality and especially the price that I paid for it. Winning!
True. Most people in Seattle/Tacoma do not use an umbrella, and just have a jacket. However, there are the occasional downpours that occur unexpectedly when an umbrella is a life savor. Especially if you are wearing dress clothes and have an important meeting. Thank you for subscribing! Looking forward to chatting more with you.
There are many things that I don't necessarily "need". There are many items in this backpack that I "want". Its nice being ready for the majority of daily inconveniences. I find that the items in this backpack come in handy all the time. Others choose to not carry a certain level of supplies on them, which is fine too.
You are a true blessing brother. A wonderful set of training videos that are well done. A great teacher and inventor. I mean you are a true blessing. Thank you for your time and efforts. Please continue to invent, make and teach whatever you think Americans and the world needs to know. You have a gift, thanks for sharing it. : )
REALLY appreciate all the trouble you take in getting information out in an effective manner, especially the pdf. Excellent substantive depth. Thx again
No one here can ever be as detailed as you. You're truly a big help to us, my BOB is a work-in progress simply because I always find something new to add in it after I watch your videos....and like what I've said before, your gadgets are amazing...you're the best!! :)
I love this! Thank you for taking the time to make these videos and pdf files. You're really helping me in streamlining my every day carry system. I also tend to carry a diaper (and wipes) to work even if my baby isn't with me. :)
I've watched a lot of videos like this on TH-cam and this is the first one I have seen that includes a detailed PDF with the item, cost, location, and is color coded. You put a lot of work into it and it is appreciated. I just subscribed. Keep up the good work.
Dude i need to say thank you for the PDF's. You take the time to organize and even give us a list of all your gear. Its nice and thanks for making the effort that many wouldn't.
Dude. Very awesome that you took the time to do the pdf. That booklet looked pretty serious. Not very often do you see dudes put that much thought and care into their videos.
I can't count how many times my 'man bag' has saved the day. I absolutely love being the prepared one of the group. Great video, please keep posting. I've been following your channel for years now!
Great to see you back! I've always admired the mathematical stringency of your EDC concept but this new PDF document is the icing on the cake! Very well done!
Really interesting to watch your system evolve re: colours given your latest survey which was fun to participate in. So first aid was yellow back then, but popular opinion deems red. And blue for water etc. I think you have done a great service to the community by going above and beyond with your ideas and organisation methods. Many thanks from Australia.
TheUrbanPrepper If you were to update the edc pack video that would be a great thing...given not only the new system but also to see how you've evolved it. I work outdoors and my edc has many similarities but is also quite different. Things get dirty quite quickly and its harder to keep things organised. Some 'colour co-ordination' is in order sometime soon. Cheers.
Diaper can also come in handy in emergency situation. Very good at soaking up/stopping blood. Recently my middle kid smacked her nose while playing and the only thing handy was a clean diaper. Put that sucker on her face and soaked up all the blood with no dripping and was easy to wrap up and dispose of. Sorry if that was pointless but thought I would share. Great video!!!
OMG! Thanks a million for this video. I am new to California and we just recently had an earthquake. The first thing I did after it was all over was search the web for earthquake kits. After viewing a few, I found this to be the most overall best one so far. I'm rushing to put this together. Love ya, love ya, love ya for this. I'll probably not use some of the things you've added and make this a little more light weight for me but I'll feel better about having something I can pick up and leave the house with. Thank you.
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm really glad that you enjoyed this video. I will be making an update video to this EDC backpack later this year. Thanks for your support!
Thanks for taking the time to make the PDF and I've followed your site / video a lot. I am incorporating a lot of this. Especially the organization. Sometimes "God Forbid".. you may not be able to see (eye injury)... Also you have a baby... I have a dog so I must add stuff for her. Thanks again.
Great video and PDF. Thanks for uploading. Maxpedition is slowly taking a foothold here in the UK. For the time being I'm going to use the Ogio Renegade RSS backpack, as it looks more 'business-like', rather than military.
I believe you are referring to the Eagle Creek Quarter Cube storage cases. You can get them at Amazon, REI, Cabela's and other sporting goods locations.
Maxpedition should be sponsoring you, awesome pack, thanks for being so detailed with everything, really helps out people like me that are just starting to get into this
I understand the amount of stuff I carry may be too much for most. It forces me to be pay extra attention to detail and my organization. That diaper has saved the day numerous times from "sh*tty" situations. :)
I haven’t lived in the Seattle Tacoma area in a couple years, but your umbrella reminds me of something myself and others used to say, “only tourist use umbrellas”. I did like the video, and subscribed.
Another fun video. I keep a couple extra ziplock bags for a wet umbrella and rain jacket. Thanks for the lovely edc document. I'll add the items that are not already on my OCD EDC/Hike/Camping/SHTF/BOB Excel spreadsheet. ;)
You are the best! I only can say that when I saw this video I immediately went organizing stuff and put them in my back pack. Please make more videos :)
Wooo! Finally a video from TUP :) Really looking forward to part 2, the PDF, and your video on self-defence (ie. weapons) for EDC. Just a suggestion : to waterproof your backpack completely, you may want to buy a rain cover. They're relatively cheap. At MEC, Canada's version of REI, you can pick one up for $13.00 - $16.00 CAD. They fold up neatly and don't take up much room in your bag. Thanks for the informative video, TUP :D
Thanks for the recommendation! I've been searching for something like that for a while. I'll check it out the next time I go to REI. Sorry for being MIA. Busy times. ~TUP :)
You can buy the tags from Amazon or locally at Harbor Freight. I've also seen them on EBay. Search for "keychain key tags" or "Como 50 Pcs Plastic Keychain Key Tags ID Label Name Tags Split Ring".
I purchased my Maxpedition Pygmy Falcon II backpack from Amazon. Actually, I purchase MOST of my gear from Amazon except for a few things I purchased at REI.
I've seen several of your videos regarding your backpacks. I was wondering if you could do something about the various scenarios and applications for the EDC backpack, your Get Home Bag, and your Bug-Out Bag. Lots of packs so I want to get them straight. Thanks. Love your videos and organizational approach. It's refreshing to find a prepper who preps for reasonable scenarios and doesn't want to gun down every human that comes within 50 feet of his possessions.
Some good ideas and tips, personally for a flashlight I like the led lenser series, I use them at work as a mechanic and they are the most bomb proof ive found.
Thank you for the Geek Points! I am working on getting my HAM license, although I wouldn't include that in my EDC. It would fit more in my BOB. Same goes with the solar panel. I have one for my BOB, but don't really need one for my EDC.
Excellent video. Thanks for the info on the fuse multitool. I fly too much and hate having to not carry a tool. I agree with the modular nature of your pack. If SHTF you could easily transfer this to another BOB instead of having to make dupes.
Thanks! I'm glad you found it useful. It takes a while to put together, but it's nice to have the finished PDF available for anyone who is interested.
I really appreciate that. Yeah, it did take a LONG time to make. I hope this video helps others come up with their own EDC systems and bounced around ideas. I've certainly got a lot of influences from others on YT. It's a honor to be a part of the community.

I really like having the two bottle holders on the side. I also enjoy that it is a little smaller, which helps me control over packing and weight.
I've watched a lot of videos like this on TH-cam and this is the first one I have seen that includes a detailed PDF with the item, cost, location, and is color coded. You put a lot of work into it and it is appreciated. I just subscribed. Keep up the good work.
I think this is one of the best laid out BOB's I've seen. I'm going take a look at my BOB and make some changes. Thank for the great video and PDF.
Yes. I've used it for college courses and it works great. It probably won't fit a 17" notebook though. I use a 15" and it works fine.
I love the attention to detail. I can see how this would make your life easier.
I am so happy that I was able to help you get organized with your EDC! That is so awesome!
You edc backpack is very helpful. It helped me decide thing I need and don't. Thanks again
Dude i need to say thank you for the PDF's. You take the time to organize and even give us a list of all your gear. Its nice and thanks for making the effort that many wouldn't.
PointyCheese You're very welcome! Thank you for watching my videos. I really appreciate it.
They actually really like it. They usually comment on how nice it is to have things organized so it is easier for them to see what all I am carrying.
I have watched a few of your videos and I love how organized you are. I could never be that organized but I still think it's great.
Dude. Very awesome that you took the time to do the pdf. That booklet looked pretty serious. Not very often do you see dudes put that much thought and care into their videos.
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed this video and the companion PDF.
It's a foam exercise mat. I bought a large piece of it from a local sports store and cut it up for different filming locations and sizes.
I can't count how many times my 'man bag' has saved the day. I absolutely love being the prepared one of the group. Great video, please keep posting. I've been following your channel for years now!
Matthew Taylor Awesome! Thanks a bunch for the kind words, Matthew.
Thanks a bunch! I'm glad you like it.
Best EDC vids on YT, please come back soon and make more. I love the organization and forethought you put into all of your preps. Aloha
Great to see you back! I've always admired the mathematical stringency of your EDC concept but this new PDF document is the icing on the cake! Very well done!

EarlyMist Thanks a bunch. Yeah, my colors have evolved since this video. Looks like I am about due for an update video for this EDC Backpack.
Cheers.
Yes. You can put it in the main storage pocket.
I'm glad you enjoy my channel!
Good to see you again. Hope all is well with you and the family.
I’m sure that bag is suppppper heavy but he is ready for literally anything 💯🙌🏾
I've never had a problem with it. I use it daily and it seals great for me.
I like the colour coating system.
I'm planning releasing Part 2 this Sunday. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Probable more like 2 weeks, unfortunately. I have a few other videos that I am planning to upload before the EDC Apps one.
This is really terrific, thanks for going the long extra mile by doing the pdf. I look forward to the other part(s).

Those Moleskin notebooks are awesome. I use them for work and weekend drills. Writing notes and journal entries.
abraham mclarahmore I love the Moleskin notebooks. They're my favorite for EDC purposes.
love all your videos, so detailed and precise. thanks for making and sharing, lots of great tips and advice.
for some reason i love these types of videos EDC Backpacks they are so entertaning
Thanks for taking the time to make the PDF and I've followed your site / video a lot. I am incorporating a lot of this. Especially the organization. Sometimes "God Forbid".. you may not be able to see (eye injury)...

Fantastic job outlining your kit! Loved the PDF you attached. Great job thank you.

Very organized and clever! Congratulations and thanks for the video.
Yeah, this gets a like and a subscription thanks to the incredibly clear and efficent overview and the .pdf-file. Great job!
I applaud your extensive organization, it's truly impressive!
Maxpedition should be sponsoring you, awesome pack, thanks for being so detailed with everything, really helps out people like me that are just starting to get into this
I am now carrying a 15 inch Samsung laptop in this backpack (in a sleeve). It has been working great so far.
Once again awesome videos! Ordered a maxpedition mongo for my edc bag. Can't wait to get it and load it up.
Man I can't wait for part 2, great setup brother!!! I can't wait for the .pdf also.
Love the PDFs attached to your vids thanks for taking the time to create them
I understand the amount of stuff I carry may be too much for most. It forces me to be pay extra attention to detail and my organization. That diaper has saved the day numerous times from "sh*tty" situations. :)
How much of these items are you still carry/using? I would be interested to see an update. fyi I think your videos are outstanding :)
most organised man ever love the vids keep them coming
I haven’t lived in the Seattle Tacoma area in a couple years, but your umbrella reminds me of something myself and others used to say, “only tourist use umbrellas”. I did like the video, and subscribed.
Very, very organized and though out. The PDF was awesome! Loved your videos!
Another fun video. I keep a couple extra ziplock bags for a wet umbrella and rain jacket.
Thanks for the lovely edc document. I'll add the items that are not already on my OCD EDC/Hike/Camping/SHTF/BOB Excel spreadsheet. ;)
You, Sir are my hero!
Thank you for your PDF. Awesome system.
You are the best! I only can say that when I saw this video I immediately went organizing stuff and put them in my back pack. Please make more videos :)
Thanks. I eventually figured it out once I searched beyond their climbing biners. Ultimately bought an Omega Pacific D Screw-Lok, Black from Amazon.
Wooo! Finally a video from TUP :) Really looking forward to part 2, the PDF, and your video on self-defence (ie. weapons) for EDC.

Thanks for the recommendation! I've been searching for something like that for a while. I'll check it out the next time I go to REI. Sorry for being MIA. Busy times. ~TUP :)
Great recommendation! Thank you for sharing your story.
I think the Pygmy Falcon II would make for a decent GHB. This one would need to be tweaked a bit to cover more survival items.
Good to see you back! Another fantastic vid!
You can buy the tags from Amazon or locally at Harbor Freight. I've also seen them on EBay. Search for "keychain key tags" or "Como 50 Pcs Plastic Keychain Key Tags ID Label Name Tags Split Ring".

Some good ideas and tips, personally for a flashlight I like the led lenser series, I use them at work as a mechanic and they are the most bomb proof ive found.
Do you mean the multi-tool? I purchased the Maxpedition Single Sheath from Amazon. I believe I also got the pen from Amazon as well.
Good set up. I love Maxpedition products. I am forever modifying my carry items reorganizinig, compartmentalizing, etc... Thanks for the tips!
Thank you for the Geek Points! I am working on getting my HAM license, although I wouldn't include that in my EDC. It would fit more in my BOB. Same goes with the solar panel. I have one for my BOB, but don't really need one for my EDC.
your pdfs are like the icing on the cake !!!
Another great video!! Can't wait to see part 2 and get me hands on that PDF!!
I like your video and I really like your PDF attachments on all of your video's I find them useful. Keep up the good work. :)
Awesome video, I'm in the process of updating my urban EDC pack and you've been an inspiration. Thanks for the PDF it saved me taking notes. :-)
The bicycle lamp is a great idea!
Subbed just because I love EDC/gear/etc... and I'm happy to find a channel like yours in Seattle. I'm just over on the Eastside :D
i really like this system! hands down most organized ...WHICH I LIKE!!!
Wow, what a detailed and thorough review. Thanks for sharing!
Love all your videos but this one took a lot of time and effort to help us out so on that note thank you!
nice video!! i like the "Baby Prepper" part lol
Thanks a lot! Unfortunately, I'm not as organized in all aspects of my life. I try to be with prepping to help me stay organized and focused.
Great video! Thanks for all your ideas on an urban edc backpack.
Hey Cliff!! Glad to see you back!
PDF! Your awesome. I was just watching your original edc vid and was wondering if you planned an update...and here it is! Looking forward to part 2!
Wow. A lot of thought went into that. well done and I'd sure like to own that exat set up.
Love the different pouches
sweet...can't wait for part 2...and the PDF..
I think a 17 inch would be tough to squeeze in. I am able to fit a 15 laptop though.
Excellent video. Thanks for the info on the fuse multitool. I fly too much and hate having to not carry a tool. I agree with the modular nature of your pack. If SHTF you could easily transfer this to another BOB instead of having to make dupes.
The level of organization is phenomenal. Super nice job, T.U.P.
Thanks again for a wonderful video, always enjoying it!
Finally Mr.Prepper You Makes New Vids !!! I Like Watching Your Vids!!
Great vid, way to help us get organized, a ton of good ideas I plan to use!
You rock, man! And those PDF's of yours are priceless ;)
