That was fun! And I should know, because Keith and I used to knock around Blackpool Pleasure Beach a lot in the 90's! ... In fact, I'm looking for a 30 year younger version of Keith and I in the the video! So many classic rides and attractions: Big Dipper, Grand National, Steeplechase, Fun House, Monster, Space Invader, Noah's Ark, Tidal Wave, Tokaydo Express, Ghost Train, Monorail, Cable Car, Avalanche, The Mouse, Dodgems, River Caves, Tunnel Of Love, Goldmine, The Flying Machine, Revolution, the list goes on and on! And who could forget that human "spin drier" thing? Bloody noisy place tho'! Great times! 🤣 ... Life's no fun anymore! 😭
Scary to think I could have been in this video somewhere, I was about 12/13 at the time and such great memories from Blackpool, it is like a different world watching this. Makes me sad really to the world we live in now is pretty pathetic.
Theme Park Updates for all the things that Pleasure Beach that are not as good as they used to be one thing that has definitely improved are the effects on the ghost train. When I look at this POV it was a lot more basic back then.
I like that old footage of the Ghost train. Interesting how different the theming was back then although I'm glad they added the train effect to the spinning tunnel. Also I like that blue fountain too
I miss the coloured water in the fountains in a big way!😩 Occasionally, they still do it with the old water feature, and they did it with the river caves for a period of time recently. Amanda told me she doesn’t like the colour dye in the water as it apparently reminds her of the blue stuff you used to put in the loo😂 She doesn’t like the red water either, that’s why I hardly ever see it nowadays, but staff still do it from time to time anyway, which I’m grateful for as it makes the park more colourful.
Fucking hell that ghost train old footage blew me away, that spinning tunnel/spiral used to go so fast before the 2000s, same with the skeleton bikes, I didn't know the wood corridor before the cogs used to be strobe lit that was interesting and that the caged creature used to be next of the floating skeleton head.
Wow the year I moved to Blackpool and got off at the wrong stop, I keep looking for myself as a young man!!! Brilliant video,Ive subbed, love stuff like this!!
the good old days when it was gold! the best day out in England now its boring run down waste of money way overpriced and mostly empty not like this great video when it was packed of smiling happy people! I visited in 94 for the big one opening I remember how it was before the rides was scraped and fountains and walkways replaced rides for fun priced so all can afford
Master Knife oh absolutely! Apparently they spent half £1 million on it in 2017 on the new magnetic bricks/ with replacement/and new safety walkways. They couldn't get insurance for any more as well as the metal plates on the side of the cars were apparently causing more wearing tear than normal, apparently a lot of sad idiots were also complaining about it as well. It was apparently a combination of all three of these things that lead to its closure but Pleasure Beach deserve credit for doing your best to keep it going.
@@dougbriglmen716 Yeah all those morons saying it was the roughest ride in the park when it was actually much smoother than the other woodies. But that's just my opinion
I did notice in the cage on the right in the entrance of haunted house ride in Bengaluru India carnival in 1977 and 78 there used to be a caveman monster with blue hair but I went on the ride again in 1988 10 years later and 12 years later in 2000 and we has gone

This video is a time machine. And the quality so good for the time!

Thank you for this, you've just brought back my childhood 😊
it is scandalous that they charge £10 just for peole to go in and walk round now. It was £6 last year.
Piece of social history, many happy memories, great quality footage for the day
Love the POV of the Ghost Train. Gosh it looked so different! The music sounds a little different too.
