@@trevorbunyak5886 oh cool is that he name of the animation ice? A channel on here called me a liar and said that he gorilla never existed. Glad I found this video as proof
This is an early Creative engineering animatronic, the same company responsible for the Rock-Afire Explosion that played in showbiz pizza places across America throughout the 80s. The gorilla was originally a character in the wolf pack 5, the predecessor to the rock afire explosion. This is actually a great piece of footage as it proves that it was in Blackpool at some point. They also used to have another early creative engineering show, “The Hard Luck Bears” and us fans are looking all over the internet for video clips of it, As it’s very very rare nowadays. There is a rumour that’s been going around for a while that BPB have the show in storage somewhere in one of the parts warehouses, this is yet to be confirmed though. There is pictures of the show building with “The Hard Luck Bear Show” written across the side of it from old Virginia reel removal photos, and also one of the actual show itself. There is also proof of it being in the now closed sister park of Pleasure beach Blackpool, Frontierland, in a show building called “The Opera House” was referred to as the “Crazy bear show” and also by its real name “The Hard Luck Bears”. It is believed when Frontierland closed in 1999, the show was shipped back to Blackpool where it sits in storage, as stated earlier it is unconfirmed
Well, well well Darran a liittle bit more of little me. This is fantastic and glad you had the fore site to video the family and lad that became adventreme.
@@masterknife8423 by massive changes at the very top I mean who is in charge! That’s not a dig at Amanda or anything but I do think they need to have a long look at their business plan because the last time the park on its own made a profit was in 2014 and it hasn’t since, and before that 2003! So you have to wonder why it’s been like that for so long and what’s causing that.
@@masterknife8423 Things like how the rides are illuminated compare to how they used to be even in the 2000s, not having at least one indoor flight ride to fall back on whenever the weather takes a turn for the worst, same goes with an indoor coaster i.e. space invader, without that they no longer have a rollercoaster that can operate regardless of the weather conditions! Too many boring colours on the north end of the park and needing really brightening up. These are the sort of aspects combined with plenty of others that all add up to make the park not as enjoyable as it once was.
By the way in my opinion the National is a classic it just needs a proper restoration with trains that aren’t stupidly heavy, New lighter trains similar to what he had before and a more efficient and reliable braking system would do wonders for it.
6.01 holy crap I forgotten the man climbing up the rope lol the revolution with the union Jack is minted, think its phenomenal how they manage to cramp into such a small park like the fushion and icon it's all change since 2013 was last time I was there but such happy childhood memories as we driving along the motorway from Scotland Central Fife and it felt like many hours in car and as always the start of journey is good but then it gets boring lol until I see the Blackpool tower in the distance always made me exciting lol great video 🇬🇧👍 1996 I was 12 years old my dad took me on the big one at the back car was phenomenal getting dragged down the hill woohooo
This is what greed does...far better buying tickets as needed and free to wander around, they still got money out of you with snacks, drinks, meal or merchandise....most people go to Blackpool not just for the pleasure beach for the lights and general buzz of the golden mile...a lack of potential customers may nock some sense into the owners or risk park closure...
@@toptiertrips they’ve been gone for many years sadly😞 Apparently they were a nightmare to maintain as they weren’t meant for outdoor use among other problems with them. Modern pixel LEDs properly weatherproofed and programmed to trace in the exact same manner would look amazing🤩
Ah these were peak days for the pleasure beach. Only paid if you were riding, rides unique to the site... The owners cared and it showed. These days it's just a cash grab, an actual shadow of its former self. Such a shame.
The fact 1996 is now vintage makes me feel ancient.
Was mint back in the day. Top memories. Tha kyou for sharing this.
Everything seemed better those days
Good memories ❤ Thank God for memories 😊
The days when it was busy! Great times!
Thanks LAD, lovely piece of social history. Very well filmed, full of atmosphere.
Just look at how busy it was and no mobile phones.....better times...funny how packed it was with free entry....

@@trevorbunyak5886 Where did it play - The Star?
It was in King Cottons under the Space Invader.
Love the video. Blackpool is like a second home to me. Used to go nearly every year.

Road to 500 subs lovely old footage xx
These were the golden years of BPB👌👌👌.. Don't think we will see them again.
Not without massive changes at the very top if you know what I mean.
It wouldn’t take much to bring some of the old spark back to the place.

Ooh loving those lights on the Big One's lift hill. Should bring that back using LED lighting
I 100% agree with you, pixel LEDs would probably be the best way to do that.
Helly Hansen jackets were all the rage in 1996 😂

The legendary Keith allen on the big one lift hill.
Sure is. I remember getting a picture with him afterwards.
Is he still alive?
Worst thing they did was to charger to get in. I happy go in there for a beer and bite to eat if you could just walk in.
