    You forgot to show us the output, but it's safe to say that you're probably blinding oncoming traffic by just installing these instead of doing a proper projector retrofit. Sorry guys, but I had to mention that. Otherwise great series, and I look forward to studying this process closer still as I prepare to buy one of these CR-Vs myself. Cheers!

    I need to do this.
    You can also replace the front bumper for a reasonable price.

    • @mikesbackyardmechanic
      @mikesbackyardmechanic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello there! Yes I highly recommend the LED headlights. And yes, you can get a new front bumper for under $200 and is a perfect time to replace when you do the headlights. I will probably replace mine as well in the future since we have some damage from a small fender bender. Thanks for watching, commenting, and subscribing to our channel!

    How are the LEDs holding up? I've heard they can burn out easily or mess with the car's electronics, but I'm thinking about upgrading my lights too

    • @mikesbackyardmechanic
      @mikesbackyardmechanic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello there! After 1 year and 5 months...the LED's are doing great! No issues at all with the lights or the car. Just a warning though, these LED's are extremely bright. (Check out our Midnight Snow Test video "CR-Venture Into The Snow' on our channel to see how bright they are.) But...I like bright! Thanks for watching, commenting, and subscribing to our channel!

    I noticed your headlights don't have a ballast system. Did it have one before? How did you transition?

    • @mikesbackyardmechanic
      @mikesbackyardmechanic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello there! The new light bulbs we installed are LED. I believe you are thinking of HID bulbs (Xenon), as they do require a ballast. Also HID lamps take a few seconds to obtain maximum brightness (time is taken to form the plasma) while LEDs gives away full brightness instantly. HID lamps are fragile and contain filaments or sensitive electrodes, therefore, needed to be handled with care. LED's are the better option for an upgrade from regular bulbs, imo, as they are brighter, less expensive, don't require a ballast, and last longer. Thanks for watching and commenting!!

    Where did you get the LED bulb adapter?

    • @mikesbackyardmechanic
      @mikesbackyardmechanic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello there! The LED bulbs shown in the video require NO adapter for the 2002-2004 CRV models. You can get information on the bulbs we used in the video and where we bought them in the written description of the video above. Thanks for watching, commenting, and subscribing to our channel!

    • @mikesbackyardmechanic

      Hi, when you say 'size of the rubber seal' what size are referring to? The diameter of the seal?

    • @seyerb
      @seyerb หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mikesbackyardmechanic Sorry for the confusion, I have a 2nd gen CRV also, and the rubber seal is missing from the headlight assembly. I tried to find it online but found out they're of different sizes. Do you have the OEM part number of what you installed on your CRV? Thanks you.

    Your claim: 2002-2006 Honda CR-V LED Headlights Upgrade using just one bulb that functions as the low/high beam. The problem: The 05 and 06 crv uses two separate bulbs that function one each as the low and high beam.

    • @mikesbackyardmechanic
      @mikesbackyardmechanic  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello there! As I do not own an 05 or 06, I cannot verify your claim, however, thank you for watching and trying to clarify a potential difference in model years when it comes to headlights. You rock! 🥇
