As a more 'casual' player I've been playing for 4 hours and not even unlocked 21-25 yet! Insane to see the top players like Wirtual clear these author times so quick.
Im around div 10-15 and it took me a couple of hours to unlock the black tracks. I went for a few authors alonfg the way but still, this is a really hard campaign.

@@bobbythebuilder7109it depends on the amoumt of people that participate in "cup of the day". The more people participate, the more divisions there'll be (since you can have max 64 player per division).
Painful watching the KB expert play the Desert Car that favors KB, yet never did the Desert Campaign like everyone else. Then bro complains for like 3 hours about Nadeo adding original cars back into the game. -- for trying to turn everyone against the game because something don't suit you ++ for the entertainment and just being so damn good regardless Love you bro, wish you would of done the Desert Discovery Campaign rather than Kacky :)

I dislike the new cars. Part of the draw of TM to me is the simplicity - no gear shifting, no customization, just the same car all the time and the variety all comes from the track. Plus being keyboard-friendly. The new cars mess with both of those. This might be the last campaign I count down to, just not the same.
I'm fairly new to TM (PS5). I don't enjoy the rally car but I think the desert car is more fun. It seems strange to me that with a game that focuses on precision, they would throw in such a wild variable as vastly different cars. Especially the tracks that switch between cars. The joy in TM for me is trying to get better, more precise and shave you times down little by little. If I wanted to experience a racing game with different cars, I would have chosen a different game. Thanks for the content Wirtual.
I like the fact that some author times are very hard, there should be something for even the more experienced players to strive for in the campaign. With that said, those very hard author times should definitely be stadium car maps and not the alternative cars! Thanks for your content Wirtual!
As someone who just came back to TM, all this talk about new cars confuses me. Back in the day we had even more. There was also the coast and the bay car. And the sports car that could go 1000 kph.
Just downloaded Trackmania today and watched nearly 1 1/2 of this video....during track 6 I still don't really know how dirt works, but I got the author time now🙏

I dislike tracks where it swaps your car while driving. I also wish the campaigns had more of the original car than they do. I get it - new car is cool and interesting - but like, I don't play Trackmania for the new cars. I like the normal car, and haven't even learned that one well enough to justify learning others. Also I'm a keyboard player. Not trying to mess with action keys as a mandatory function of driving.
Desert car plays horribly. Really hope they stop the shenanigans of adding new cars and just keep adding blocks, scenery, and cool events and maps. Also a better progression mechanic.

I just wanted to tell you that you have really brightened my life in the past couple of months. I just hit my first shortcut and got my first author time from it. All because of you and your videos. The campaign kept growing on me, a solid 8.5/10 now. Mostly saved by the effort I've put into ranking higher in Sweden each season making it feel fun and competetive. New car is fine, but 25 is insane... 7 hours for gold.... and that is top 15 in Sweden atm! So few has all authors! Still fun with a challenge, but a shame that getting those skins will be hard :)
Switching cars inside the map is honestly ruining it completely for me. Playing the new cars is fine, but make me drive it and don't fuck me up with different steerings all the time. Only played 7 out of the first 10 maps and won't bother giving up my time for the other 3 to unlock anything. Even if it's not that hard. Probably could have gotten gold on them in the time i wrote this comment, but that's just how much i dislike the switching cars.
My problem with campaings now is that you HAVE TO get gold on maps to progress and play other maps, really bad design to force players to play maps they dont want to. EDIT: havent tried this new one so dont know if this is still the case.
what do you mean? in tmnf at least, it had this same method. there being white,green,blue,red and black tracks. with only 1st map was unlocked without difficulties. and follow ups were: White challenges require a bronze medal to unlock. Green and Blue challenges require a silver medal to unlock. Red challenges require a gold medal to unlock. Only those who have collected a gold medal on ALL prior courses may proceed to the Black challenges.

The new cars are what made me actually go ahead and buy into the game when snow car released. I think the stadium car is so beloved in big part because about half the playerbase only played TMNF before this game, and got into TMNF as a kid happy to play a free game... even though the stadium car is only marginally better than the United ones. I hate how sluggish the stadium car is. The alternate cars are pretty much all way too sensitive, but at least they actually TURN. The drifting is terrible on stadium - the delay before you can do it, how you don't carry any speed through sharp ones, how you have no control over your trajectory during a slide, how you need to have the exact right amount of speed for a drift to work well in a given corner. Both of these are especially bad when combined with the blocks trackmania has. It really pushes you to make tracks dense with relatively sharp turns, but the stadium car just doesn't work well for that at all. I just hope they introduce better cars. I don't understand what possessed them to port over old, buggy vehicles from a game that failed spectacularly instead of the Canyon car for example. If that car doesn't work with the current blocks and map limitations then they should've just designed a new vehicle that would have a snappier feel than the stadium car, but didn't have the shortcomings of the existing ones we got.
1:49:35 I've got 2 years playing TM2020 and TMNF, and I'm happy that even the top players can get skill checked from time to time for exactly this reason.
I like the idea of new vehicles I just think the way they executed it was poorly done action keys are hard enough on stadium car much less a car that flings your car into a wall with 1 tap having them be blocks is what ruins it the swap kinda kills your focus and breaks immersion I feel like if it was its own mode it would be better received rather than just having players learn 1 car for years and then throwing in 3 cars that feel ridiculous to control especially on pc
Stunt looks fun, 2 things i saw: The trails get more intense with more multipliers and land INLINE with them to get the multiplier. You understood the rest basically.
@wirtualtv i still havent watched till the end but for 35 minutes he still hasnt figured out how stunts work and its making me furious. The thing is that you do not need to get all the points in 1 run. when the blue line timer expires your points are added up to at the side then when you respawn you add up to the points from the previous run, if you reset before the timer runs out you do not get points for that run. you only get the points registered when the timer runs out, when you finish you get points calculated from all your "valid runs". So the competition in this format in my opinion is to get the highest score with the least amount of runs and probably also who has more epics in case of a tie or sth
Plus no free cam, if their is a free cam I have no idea how to use it on xbox, I also can't bind first person and high angle 3rd as camera controll I only have one camera angle change option that cycles through the 3 angles

tbh im really a big fan of putting the new cars in campaigns, i hated the snow car at first and probably wouldnt give it a second chance if it wasnt for the campaign, now that i got used to it its my new favorite car, rally now as good but still great and desert is my least favorite so far but i still need to learn it. Gold medals are still pretty easy regardless so it shouldnt be difficult to unlock the maps and the next campaigns arent going to have any new cars for a long time
I hate all the new cars, it's the same gimmick for all of them
