Have done this before. Left my Lightning, LER,parked for 18 days at 50% SOC, as recommended by the mfg., and did not have any loss in SOC over that time. Started right up and functioned as normal upon return.
That would have awesome, but I just got back home a few days ago. Maybe we can meet up when I do a road trip again. Actually I should probably do a video ahead of time to let people know where I’m going to be. I’ll have to get that on my list.
Nope not gutless. I’ve taken a 4k+ mile road trip last summer (I’ve posted videos about that), and I will take more. But this was about spending time with my wife and daughter and they really wanted to fly instead.
Hey man, please be nice. These videos are free. And there’s ways to ask this question this without hauling insults. For people who work they may not have the time to make a three day trip one way to New York and then three days back.
@ThunderandLightningEvPickup Thanks for the backup. That’s the truth for sure about work. I have a day job and run a small business on the side. So I’m definitely pretty busy, but I still put a priority on my family, which is what this trip was about. I just do these videos because I love my truck and want to help people get more familiar with their EV.
@@F150LightningMike That’s the right work life balance. I’m fully self employed and loving my lightning (just bought the pro new for 37k before incentive). I’ve been making videos here and there too. The camping ones were the most fun. Check them out!

Yeah that’s my experience too every time. It just goes into deep sleep mode, but it starts right up about the same as where you left it.
Down to earth practical advice
Thank you, and thanks for watching.
Thanks Mike. As usual, great and useful advice.
Thank you Brad.
Bro! I live in New York! Want to link up???

Why not take the LIGHTNING? Why are you so gutless when it comes to EV road trips?
