Love this recipe!! I just added a little more water when making the dough, used a kitchen dough hook and an extra tablespoon of brown sugar, I like mine a little sweeter since I typically eat it with saltfish. 🇻🇮

Hi I'm your new friend. Brother in law of my husband is from Trinidad. He is an American who born in Trinidad. I like to learn to cook food from many countries. I will learn some more about how to cook Trini food from your video. By the way, I did my part to connect to you and I hope to see you at my home.
Thanks for asking this. So how I suspected this question would be coming up soon. I need used self rising flour but I'm sure the result will be the same. Just eliminate the baking powder that is in my recipe. I will do a recipe with the self rising flour soon.
Leaving it to rest is very important. I also let it rest after I make the balls. Question. Is this method of frying with a lot of oil that makes the bakes come out like this? When I fry my bakes I don't use so much oil and they are different. They are light but not like floats. I am going to try in a few minutes and see if I get a difference. Thanks.
@@WhaToCook I tried frying the bakes as you suggested. Some of the bakes puffed up. The first two didn't so, I turned up the heat. The others did but the last one didn't. Do you know why?
