    great video. One thing that is crucial to point out (people get frustrated with this) - is that once you have your steps, they become individual presets within a preset - thus, needing to be saved separately if you modify them. In other words, if you go to step 3, change something, then go back, check it out, like it, and save the main preset, you will NOT save the mod in that step - unless you are ON THAT SCREEN. Save each step as you modify them. Cheers!

    Your tutorials are priceless! I use them all the time as a reference. I own VL3X, love it, but the manual book is too thick to read and your explanations are straight forward, short and understandable! Thank you! Carry on. I crew with some demands from the comments with regard to looper - it would be of great help!

    purchased a unit a few weeks ago...it has a large learning curve, the videos help although a step by step is needed by me at least to fully take advantage and fully customize this unit's looping capabilities, let alone everything else...in conjunction with the switch-6 for sensible access for use...lots of trial and error time instead of plugin, program, perform, get paid for solo applications...i would gladly PAY to get my questions answered to get the ball rolling asap...thank you

I'm not utterly tech clue-less, but I'm having a hard time getting traction with this unit. Good luck! If you find an easier more focused actual beginner tutorial & you get a minute, could you pass along a link? Thanks!

    Great videos man. Well made and easy to understand. Could you do a video explaining levels of presets like if you had presets for different guitar or vocals in step and then you want those to be nested in song presets that you would use the preset buttons to change? I’m not quite clear on that

      DON'T feel lonely! I'm no beginner; I'm 18 months into owning this gadget BUT it's spent the bulk of the time on the shelf. SO much of the vocabulary in the window is alien & I'm not averse to making adjustments...my Korg Kronos required plenty of that. I'm in one of the phases where it's back out, wired-up & challenging me to learn. We'll see what happens. Bishop's good!

    Hi Bishop, can you build loops in sections (intro, verse, pre chorus, chorus, bridge, etc...) and put them in order to create a whole song in the looper? All videos I see demoing the looper just shows one loop and not different loops in series. Do you have any vids that show how this can be done? I'm thinking about getting one if this can be done on the VL3x. Thanks!

    Hi, your video help me a lot but I have a problem. The idea of using a Step is because in the same song I have a part with distorted sound on guitar and the voice effect in “double” and then, in the part of the chorus I change to clean sound and at the same time I put the “Harmony effect” ”In the voice (this example is for the song Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd). I use the step because in a quick change by pressing a single button I modify the guitar and voice effect at the same time, but there is a small delay when i press the button and the sound of the guitar changes, is not instantaneous, it does not work for me. Let's see if you have any ideas or suggestions ... Thank you!!!

    If you have 5 steps within a preset, can you scroll backwards to get to a prior step instead of scrolling forward. For example if you are on step 5 and wanted to quickly go back to step 4, can I scroll backwards to step 4 with one button click instead of making 4 button clicks to get back to step 4?

    Gday Bishop, mate if you assign another preset as a Step (let's say the actual Patch is #1 and #7 is assigned as a step to #1), if I make any modifications to the step preset (i.e. preset #7), does it change the original settings in the original Patch (#7) or does it modify the original #7 wiith it's own unique paremetres just while being used as a step in preset #1. Point being can #7 be used as a standalone preset in it's own capacity with it's own paremeters when used as #7, however have multiple "variations" of #7 depending on which other presets nominate #7 as a step (i.e. can #7 be used with multiple other presets and have it's paremeters tweeked slightly differently for each of the other presets, OR so they all simply have to "tolerate" the same paremeters as set by the original #7 baser preset.

      Darren Turner Hi Darren, I use it for solo work and when I work in a duo mainly. I also use it when I’m playing in a band and not needing the looper features. if you’re just looking for an FX processor, there’s probably a better option. but if you want a multi-effects processor and looper, this is probably the best bet.

      One application for a band may be to route the keyboard or guitar through the device with no effects while using the vocal effects for the background or lead vocals. The instrument will establish the key changes. Maybe someone talks about using it in this manner and what challenges there may be.

    • @malditoklee

      The guitar and vocal effects share a couple of effect types like reverb, modulation and delay but have unique effects as well specific to guitar like (amp modeling for example) versus the vocal layer that has things like harmony and pitch correction FX or vocals.

      Jerusa Leão You can create a preset (for example number five) that has the voice preset three and the guitar effects four on it. Then just switch to Preset five when you need that combination.

    • @malditoklee
      @malditoklee  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I understand your question properly, I think your referring to setting up the unit to use a one button looper function. If so, can assign the desired foot switch to trigger one button looping.
      To assigned the one button looper to a switch, I'll outline mapping to the step button, but it is the same for any switch. Select 'setup->footswitch->step button function', set this to one button looper.
      Here's another example for you. So basically you will want to 1. go into the layer you want to work with Guitar/vocal then scroll to "Button Map", then select the button you want to assign to the one button looper. Then using the radial dial assign the foot switch to 1 button looper (1BUTTLOOPER). now that foot switch will turn the looper on and off without need to go into the looper layer.
      Hope this helps!

    • @jilas3in1
      @jilas3in1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ryan, I'm going to take a stab at this if you don't mind. I found your question interesting as I was thinking kind of the same thing. I would think that if I forgot to add a step, I would first have to learn how to erase the step (s). For instance, say you had 5 steps in your song. You just found out that step 3 should be step 4, step 4 should be 5, etc. I would go to the correct step, erase what was there, and enter the correct step, then do the same throughout your song. Does that make sense?

    • @ryandeag
      @ryandeag 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jilas3in1 Thank you, this is essentially what i did, but it's long winded and super time consuming. As i have complex settings, meaning i had to go through each step and write down what i did, to then re enter them all again.
      This pedal is great, but it feels like they thought way to much about things we might need, and forgot about the simple things we do need
