I think these are the best set of device tutorials I have ever encountered on TH-cam! I am very appreciative of how you don't waste time with intro music or graphics, or blabbing about yourself but, rather, you clearly label the topic of the tutorial and then launch right into the content. Many, many thanks and, please, more of these when you have the time!

Mine is stil basically a paperweight & every session ends in frustration, BUT - I STILL agree - Bishop's tutorial's at least give me hope that it's worth continuing to at least TRY to learn this incredibly complex gadget. He gets right to it!.

      @@malditoklee you are my hero,
I followed the steps and it worked. thank you very much for your help. I live in a small town in Bolivia that is in South America, I have to travel 4 hours to go to the nearest city and since I saw a video of the voicelive 3 I dreamed and worked hard to raise money to buy it, it took 2 years to collect the Money, imagine my face when the white screen appeared and I without a decent internet connection. Today, May 30, I was able to go to the city and the first thing I did was to see if I received any kind of help, I saw your answer and saw the links and luckily it occurred to me to bring the voicelive in case someone here could fix it.
I've fixed it myself and only spent about $ 3 in one set of torx screwdrivers
Thank you very much for your help I would never have done it myself.

@@malditoklee for this reason I purchased a backup unit. I am now trying to reload unit 2 with the wave files from unit one but to date...no luck. I have backed up the individual waves from the unit so that it creates a "packet" of data including sysex and wav I assume. I want to blanket restore from a voice support file but I think that only holds the sysex and the waves are in the aforementioned. Still, there has to be a way to put those packets into the new unit. Any idea how? Jesse.deese@gmail.com

Please Please Please make more tutorials! As a former educator and administrator ---I can tell that you have an intuitive understanding of instructional design and learning theory ---OR ---maybe it's not intuitive but learned ----in any case you are VERY GOOD. You and I use the same tools ---hoping (fingers crossed) I see more tutorials about any aspect of VLZ3 OR anything Logic Pro X ......so many of the tutorials on TH-cam are polluted with way to much talking, don't begin with the end in mind, or are pure advertising drivel for a company or self promotion ....YOU GET IT!

Wow! The clear, concise explanation of the use, programming, and options are terrific! I was hoping there were 50 videos from you in the series, so that my silver VoiceLive 3 could finally be put to good use. I was so intimidated by my VL3 that I bought a DigiTech Vocalist, and it was just a simpler, basic right-out-of-the-box useable unit. It died after a few years, and now my new/barely touched VL3 comes back into play. And it is awesome, but complex. Thank you very much for making these videos, I've watched 'em all a few times, and pray for more soon. I know it's been a while, but perhaps you could re-visit the subject...? Warm regards, and best wishes to you. Carl in Yuba City, CA, USA

Super series, sir! If you can possibly answer this question for me. I recorded all my tracks (for a Duo that has a full band sound) in Studio One 3. I have a Cymatic LP-16 mono track playback for separate tracks to FOH. It can play midi files back to automate. Thus I can edit it in Studio One. Are the automation recordings editable in the VL3X? If I miss the timing on presses, can I move it in the track, or must I re-record? I'm trying to gauge whether I should use midi automation or do it via the VL3X. Thanks much for your time, Shep

I am wanting to try the VLX3 for live gigs as I use my own tracks to play along with- I play all the parts and can only do vocals/guitar onstage. What is your opinion of the BT playback? I have BTs already in the format needed. My laptop/audio interface/ FX pedals work well but are a pain to set up/break down time-wise, so to have everything in one would be fantastic..ONLY if it is the same audio quality. @EricSanson 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Okay...first, fantastic tutorials. They have helped me immensely. I have a couple of questions that I cannot find answers to: 1. Let's say something happens to my VLX3. Stolen, broken etc. Obviously we spend countless hours setting up patches, tones and tracks. Is there a way to do a "backup" of everything that's currently configured on it? The other question is capacity. I'm only up to around 50 backing tracks. How many will it hold? I think I've found that it's 16gb of storage. I've been importing .mp3 tracks with an average of 3mb file size. As you say, it converts them to wav so I'm not sure how that equates to space but I know the wav files are bigger. Sorry for the questions, but you seem to have more knowledge than most! Thank you for that. If you have a paypal, I'd be happy to make a donation.

    Thanks for the great Tutorial!
The only thing is the Track Import will not show up in my VL3x :(
I made sure to format my flashdrive as FAT32, added the audio track respecting the right format (WAV 24 Bits / 4800) but no success.
No Track Import neither Backing Track tabs (in Looper menu)
Also, I tried updating VL3x firmware, but Track Import tab still will not come after attaching the flashdrive into my device.
    * After adding the thumbdrive to my PC, I can see VL3X created the Loop folder in the drive, but for some reason it does not read the track from the drive.
Any ideas on what could be happening?

Hola Pablo, cuando la uses podrías compartir tus impresiones, por favor? Estoy evaluando hacerme una de ellas y tu opinión sería genial.

Franco Rhodes Cruz Bueno hola!!!
Saludos y Salud!!

Hello, this is my last resort any help greatly appreciated. This is regarding my Voicelive 3 extreme.
I see in the main mix screen I can control the guitar volume, the backing track volume even the xlr volume but not the mic volume? I can't see a separate mic volume in any of the mix screens??
I am using a stereo output mode because I have stereo effects on my backing tracks.
I just want an easy way to adjust the elements of my performance (mic, guitar , backing track).
The only solution I can think of at the moment is turning the backing track up or down to mix with the vocal but then my guitar levels are all out because I have set those to the backing track!!
There must be an easy way I am missing here?
    Please help.
    Jason

Hello, on minute 10:40 you mention that you can have preset for "backing tracks" and launch all your bt's from that preset.
I tried to do that, but the automation seems to work only for a backing track, It seems that the automation won't save per-track basis. I'm I doing something wrong? Should the device record independent automation per track even if I load them on the fly with the method mentioned? Thanks in advance.

Hi Bishop, Have you come across anything that does what the vl3x does but that can also send midi to control other devices. The vl3x only receives midi

Is it not possible to store backing tracks in the standard Voicelive 3 via the looper? Or only on the Extreme version?

Hi Bishop, Any thoughts on getting a click track synced with a backing track? Could you record the track in your DAW with the click track panned to one side say to the right and then put the VL3X in stereo mode and isolate that for the drummer?

Can I use backing tracks as 'steps" for a preset, so Song1 preset will have 2 backing tracks, Step1 will have the verse backing track, and Step2 will have the chorus backing track? Then I can just flip between verse and chorus backing tracks by using the Step switch?
