    It's great to see the actual lift time. Most videos speed up this process. Great video!

    Thanks for the video! You are the only one I could find that shows the lift operate in real time. I just ordered the Advantage SS-11000-WD for my home shop. I choose this model because it can do everything up to dually trucks, and comes with the 240 volt motor, which I am hoping helps it to run just a little bit faster. Even if it doesn't, it should have a longer life span than the 120 volt motor. I like overkill...

    I have the same lift, but the XL version. Seems like mine raises much faster then that. I will need to time it as a comparison. Great to see a video of a full demonstration of the lift.

      I think they should be the same as the specifications state they both have the 1.5 HP 120 V motor. I like the XLT version, I would have got it if I had a bigger garage.

    • @ajautolifts
      @ajautolifts 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes this seems slow. I imagine your XLT is faster, even being taller. I install a LOT of lifts both residential and commercial. I also have done tons of the Advantage products. We actually did a side by side today.
      The motor in this video is surely slow. Not by much, but slow. And it’s not a HP issue. It’s all in the valving. Something is a hair off either in the pickup valve or possibly the tube or startup valve?
      No matter a 1.5hp 2hp or 5 hp the speed up and down is all valving. It’s kinda like a transmission in that way. The 1.5 just works a little harder from and energy consumption standpoint and has a 10 min cycle, meaning it should only be run full rise a max of once every 10 min. This is why commercial shops sometimes go with a 240vac 5hp motor. They can cycle much more often before getting warm.

    The speed of the lift is not dependent on the voltage or horsepower of the motor. It is dependent on the GPM (gallons per minute) output of the hydraulic pump which is the same regardless of voltage or horsepower. Motor RPM will increase GPM but again, voltage has no effect on motor RPM. It is a very nice lift; I am considering the XL version for the shop I'm building.

    • @lumberjackdreamer6267
      @lumberjackdreamer6267 ปีที่แล้ว

      The limitation is amperage. Residential 120V circuits are usually limited to 1500 watts. 12 amps, because derating 80% of 15 amps.
      But 240V circuits routinely allow 50 amps, so about 8 times more power. More power, more GPM.

    • @lumberjackdreamer6267
      @lumberjackdreamer6267 ปีที่แล้ว

      This type of motor has only one speed. 3600 rpm. Constant.
      Hydraulic pump GPM depends on its vanes and is given at 3600 rpm.

    how much does a lift like this one cost, and can I put one on one side of my garage if the garage is only 17 feet wide? Do you think it would block the access of the second car (an SUV)?

    Can someone help me please? 1) Can you suggest any proven methods of installing such a lift in a garage that has a slope of at least 4-5 inches? 2) Also, would the lift shift if I don’t bolt it to the ground? (I would rather not anchor it as my concrete slab is only 4 inches thick.) Last question: 3) Is 4 inch thick concrete floor even enough to to support the lift with the vehicles? I would appreciate if you could please answer all or at least some of my questions🙏

    • @coreysperos3335
      @coreysperos3335 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      thats a pretty steep slope. you cannot level the lift itself to the posts and would rather require you to shim under the base plate with suitable steel or heavy duty rubber pads to level it out the best you can (check with Advantange on tollerance for slope). 4" of concrete is more than enough for a 4 post and it does not need to be bolted down unlike a 2 post.

      It’s a 4 post, they don’t have to be. They come with casters so you can move them around. They recommend bolting them down if you’re in an earthquake prone area.
