Killing the first dragon and learning the first SHOUT was a watershed moment for me in gaming in 2011. The chant, visual effects and sound effects were so pleasing. You haven't even begun to scratch the surface yet. There is a reason why this game won massive amounts of awards!
It's strange feeling to just watch. ...but in the other side it's Fun! She isn't speedwalker. Yesterday I just downloaded this game into my xone so I play it again but I found this one.😊 Love Skyrim and even the bugs😂
Thank you for waiting everyone! I hope you enjoyed this episode! Episode 7 will be up Saturday at 12 pm EST! :) UPDATE: there is a bot impersonating me now... 🙃 I'm going to try to take care of that asap! So ignore anyone with the "hit me on telegram " in there name! Episode 7 is HERE: th-cam.com/video/RzlIWnVUEDA/w-d-xo.html
It really depends on how you want to play if you want to keep the staff. Warrior, thief or Mage. Read at least the first page of every book. Some have skill increases.
hey would you be willing to react to a beginners guide to elder scrolls lore? i think that would be fun to watch. lore is one of my favorite things about the elder scrolls. lore in this series goes deeeeep.
I think it would be cool if you did an episode just reading some of the books you think are interesting, Wilburger did an episode like that in the elder scrolls IV. Some of the books are actually just fiction stories that take place in Tamriel. Some are fairly well written. Mind you there are over a thousand pieces of literature in the game so probably don't worry about reading them all, I certainly haven't. Also books that have a base value above 30 will most likely give you a skill progression lvl for free.
The books priced higher at like 50-70 gold are skill books that will level a specific skill one level and then can be sold after unless its a spell book which teaches a spell and then gets consumed. They're scattered all around the world so always check books when you see them when exploring. Also shops open at 8am and close at 8pm, though sometimes that can be a little glitchy. Sorry for the essay, keep it up and have fun 👍
Also, if you wait for a shop to open with the locked door pop-up visible, it will still say it’s locked after you wait even if it’s open. The game doesn’t automatically update that pop-up message after you wait. You have to focus away from it and select it again for the door status to update.
@@stevecochrane9531 The Drunken Huntsman is an inn (albeit one that the Dragonborn can't use for room and board) and is always open like all the other inns.
I agree, the reading time segments are awesome. You don’t have to read every book you find, but anything that jumps out at you that it might be interesting, or sometimes you’ll even learn useful information about specific creatures. It was fun to see you shout during your first Dragon attack.
2:38 Cheydinhal is a city in North Eastern Cyrodiil appearing in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Cyrodiil borders the south of Skyrim so most visitors traveling from Cyrodiil go through the Northern Jeralls Mountains and into Skyrim from the South or if you're traveling from the East you can travel through the mountains into the Rift. Travelers from Morrowind to the East of Skyrim also enter Skyrim from the Rift as well. Our character the Dragonborn was travelling through Pale Pass from Cyrodiil to Skyrim in the intro until they were caught by the Empire for sneaking through the border. If you travel to the south of Skyrim and beyond the mountains using no clip you can actually travel into where Cyrodiil would be located. The crazy thing is Bethesda actually modelled the terrain geography for Cyrodiil even including the famous Niben River that runs through the province. They even featured the White Gold Tower in the middle of the province this being the Imperial City so idk if this was all just a fun Easter egg or if they plans for a DLC to take us to Cyrodiil. You can also do the same for Morrowind if you travel East you can see the terrain of the Red Mountain things you'd never see without cheats. But if you ever want to travel to Cyrodiil I recommend the amazing mod Beyond Skyrim: Bruma. This mod takes the player to Bruma a county and city located in Northern Cyrodiil within the Jeralls Mountains. it's so well done with it's own assets, weapons, items, music, and voice acting DLC levels of quality. They're working on other projects as well hoping to create all of Cyrodiil along with other provinces as well such as High Rock and Hammerfell all taking place at the time of Skyrim. There's a really good book called "Provinces of Tamriel" that goes over all the Provinces to give you a visual understanding of the places beyond Skyrim. Pretty sure the books in Skyrim but they're may be one similar to it as I do recall Morrowind and Oblivion having this book so imagine so does Skyrim as all the games share books between games while adding new ones. You can also look up a map of Tamriel to see where all the Provinces are in comparison to Skyrim. Here's a great lore video going over all the Provinces of Tamriel if you want to react to it or watch in you're own time. th-cam.com/video/3-pCNSFBp4w/w-d-xo.html
Crazy that all these places appeared in 1994's The Elder Scrolls: Arena. it's crazy how similar the map of Skyrim from Arena is to the one featured in Skyrim 17 years later sharing almost all the same locations down to small towns like Riverwood and Dragon Bridge. There's a few differences as well such as cities and towns being missing in Skyrim but I guess the 200+ year time gap between the setting of Arena and Skyrim explain this by locations changing over time with some falling and others rising.
There are many Skyrim bookworms who know EVERYTHING about the lore after reading EVERY single book in the game! The storyline, the lore, I believe is a big part of the draw of the game.
@@markmorris7123 My comment did state "If you want to" i never said she had to install any mods just something she may enjoy in the future after playing Skyrim for a while. Idk why you're annoyed at people talking about mods under a Skyrim video a video game built around a heavily community of mods. Would be different if I said "You have to download this mod" or "You need to download mods" that would be annoying but what I did was only give a recommendation for a DLC size mod that has no effect on the main landscape of Skyrim itself. Come off as pure salty about mods for some reason idk what happened but hope you recover from whatever mods did to you.
I was roaming the map left and right for probably 40h forgetting about all missions... the music and the scenaries... 💛 "Sorry guy, i gotta steal this, in the middle of a fight... with a dragon"🤣
I wouldn't mind a "reading time" section on every episode, the books aren't only separate lore, you can sometimes get quests and encounter things from books. Sometimes they are from previous games but still interesting to know, and there are ones with several volumes, you actually get to know how unique the history is in Elder Scrolls and it gives you perspective on your journey maybe. Of course there are nice stories that are just that and that's cool too.
Shout - Tips: It is good to at least open each book. Some have quests, map markers, or even skill level ups. When shops are closed, wait until around 9 AM then walk around for a minute, they will open up. When talking to people, if you talk through all of their unique talking points you can start up some side quests on most. The staff is cool, but the best use for it right now would probably to sell or "disenchant" it for exp at an Enchantment Table. I love seeing the excitement on your face throughout this game play! Reminds me of my summers playing this game for hours on end! TY!
Is disenchanting staffs a Dragonborn dlc thing? I've never played with Dragonborn on, and you can't without it, but I also can't imagine... Hmm, no spoilers in Liz's comments, but there's an npc I can't imagine not having a staff enchanter.
@@tildessmoo *_"Is disenchanting staffs a Dragonborn dlc thing?"_* I've had Dragonborn for years, but I cannot disenchant Staffs. But I'm playing Legendary Edition, not SE, and I don't know if you can in that version. {:o:O:}
@@kenaaaron7122 I use a mod for that. you can choose to make all unread books glow or only unread skill books. It's a bit cheaty but after the 3th playthrough you don't want to open every single book to a skill point.
You can usually pick up arrows you've shot, particularly when they haven't hit an enemy (e.g., just bounced off a wall instead). You'll also usually recover a few of the arrows you did hit an enemy with when you loot their corpse.
@@rainbowpegacornstudios You can grab flying arrows by hitting the same button you would if they were on the ground. They just move too fast for you to do it. That's why you need at least 2 words of Slow Time, which stacks with the Steady Hand Archery perk to make time *VERY* slow
Useful Tips! - Upgrading your stamina will also upgrade your carry weight. - putting your bow and sword as your "favorite" will allow you to engage an enemy with your bow, then quickly switch to a close range weapon when youll need it most. - you can pay with gold to increase your bow skill from your follower, then ask for him to "carry some things for you" then you can take your money back! lol - the gentleman on the horse and carriage is a great way to travel around the major parts of Skyrim. - leveling up any of the three paths (magic, health, stamina) will always fill them back up. its a free way to heal so use it when in battle! - (unconfirmed...running off of memory) followers CANT die from an enemy blow but be in a DBNO (down but not out) state, however.....if you accidently "hit" your follower when theyre in that state....you will kill them (shout included) and they wont respawn ect. they will appear in the hall of the dead if theyre from whiterun. the only way to get them back will be to load a prev save! - if you want some really cool/good armour.....travel to a place called "dawnstar" North-Centre of the map. run towards the town may take a couple of attempts or days but... youll eventually find some caravan traders (cat people) and they will have guards....youll know which one im talking about. kill them....loot them :) Youre killing it on this playthrough! ive played this game so much and have done many characters and honestly....im a little sick of it. but seeing someone play this and have the same excitement i once had with this game...makes me happy. i remember when i was young...i didnt want to enter "the sleeping giant inn" because i knew i wouldnt stand a chance against a giant! asked mum what a "inn" was...found out and built up enough courage to go in!! im loving this series so much because its bringing back so many memories ive had. im so invested in this series and channel itself that i subbed and im looking forward to seeing the next one! also.....shout!!🤣😂🤣😂
Under the Magic tab there's a heading called active effects. It lists diseases, blessings, passive enchantment bonuses, active spell effects etc. If you chose to tell the truth when Faendal asked you to deliver a letter to Camilla you could have recruited Sven instead. Theres a glitch in many buildings that if you go into lockpick screen a shop's opening mightn't happen per schedule. By the way I loved your reaction to the dragonborn shout power.
Just discovered your channel tonight and I've already binged 6 episodes! You are a delight to watch, m'dear. Keep it up, and shout-out 👄to you for your determination to play the game your way. There's no "right" way to play Skyrim, just do what you want and have fun with it!
It's true, even after 11 years, that menu music (and the soundtrack in general) still gives me goosebumps, so good. Loved your first experience fighting a dragon, they can be very scary.:3 Shouts are awesome, gathering words from ancient word walls (like you found in Bleak Falls Barrow) is a great way of exploring Skyrim. As for your questions and tips: 'Blessing added' means that the divine blessing was added to your active effects (you can find them at the bottom of the list under Magic). You can only have a single divine's blessing at the same time. You can change Faendal's (or any other companion's) gear by choosing the ''I want to trade something with you...) option in dialog, then give him whatever you want him to equip and he'll chose what's best.
Twist and shout, just let it all out I hope this isn't back seating but here is a small tip. If you see a book worth 50gp or more, you might want to read it. One of the best things about Skyrim is you can build and play your character anyway you want. Just so a race has a affinity for certain skills or weapons doesn't mean you have use them that way. One of my favorite things about Bethesda games is your character learns by doing. As a skill is used it gets better. The world map is large and full of places to explore. I've been playing this game since day one and I still occasionally find something new.
Hey, it's been super fun to watch a blind Skyrim playtrough! Here's a tip that will make the gameplay less tedious. When looking at your inventory, you can press the Y button to select objects as favorites, you can save Weapons, Armor, Potions, Spells, etc. Then you can open your favorite menu pressing up on the D-pad, that way you can equip and unequip things on the fly without having to go trough your whole inventory. Hope this helps!
Kodlak Whitemane was the leader of the companions at jorrvaskr, you can talk with him if you want join them. Probably one of my favourite questlines, they give you a pretty nice "gift" half way through. If you told the truth to Camilla Faendal will dislike you and avoid training or following you, he will also send a group of mercenaries to attack you randomly. There are 9 different shrines, one for each of the 9 devines (Akatosh, Arkay, Dibella, Julianos, Kynareth, Mara, Stendarr, Talos and Zenithar) that offer a different blessing when activated (you can check under Magic > Active Effects). The altar of Kynareth when adds +25 stamina, Arkay altar gives you +25 health and the altar of Talos decrease the cooldown timer of your "shout". You can only have one blessing from each devine active at a given time.
Yep I agree with you Don't let no backseat drivers take over. I really don't think there's no right way or wrong way to play the game. The first time I ran through I followed the storyline but I knew there was more. So I started the game over and I think I literally discovered every location in the game. I became it explorer and to tell you truth I had more fun doing that. So if you get sidetracked have fun with it that's what I did. So have a good one I'll keep watching.
Aaaaaah you got your first shout! Good for you! The excitement is just starting. BTW, even if you're not interested in actually reading every book, at least open each one and put it down because some have benefits.
The Companions are a group of mercenary warriors. In the Elder Scrolls group like them are generally known as guilds. In Skyrim each of the guilds has a series of quests (as well as an infinite number of radiant quests) for you to compete.
_"Tamriel's Fighters Guild has no presence in Skyrim. Instead, warriors seeking adventure and kinship may join the Companions, in Whiterun."_ - Loading screen lore
SO cool watching someone experience Skyrim for the first time. I assume you haven't played any previous Elder Scroll games (Oblivion, Morrowind, Daggerfall or Arena)? SO many of us would love to have that first look at everything. We get to experience it all through you! Three SHOUTS for more episodes!
it's so fun to watch someone experience skyim for the first time. you get so many staves in skyrim either use it up or sell it. they are great for magic users when they run out of mana but fun to use anyway so always try to have one one me. free magic
I'm doing a play-through now where I'm actively avoiding meeting Irileth at the tower. This way no dragons every show up during the game. My character is at level 55 and going. Of course, I now know a bunch of Shouts I can't use!
It is a pleasure to watch you Liz, only one tip, If i may, the quest in collecting the gem's in the boxes, can "weigh you down", collecting 24 boxes, they are all over the map, stopping you from other quests, I would suggest you wait to get anymore, just note where to find them again and come back later, this will effect your "weight", your carry weight, and abilities to collect other items, Enjoy, I have been playing sense spring - May 2022, over 25+ play thru's, it will take you years to finish, at the rate you posting,,, **on the words Shout, I love the jump scares, you give,,, God bless you
Joining a faction can make it so you can take stuff instead of stealing. You have to become allies with a person, or a group to get that. And even then not everything will be listed at "take" The shops close a night also, but will open at 8am in game time. Definitely read the books that are valued at higher prices it will help your skills go up.
Some nice tips in the comments, cracked me up when you said is it Fight Club, and Torvar goes yeah, yeah perfect timing ! I also heard Xena has magical powers she doesn't bark she shouts.....!
Shout. One thing I did notice you've missed some side quests. The only advice I would give is to follow through on your conversations with folks, especially in towns and cities. I love watching you learn mechanics and things I take for granted. That's the beauty of this amazing game. You can literally mold your character however you want.
ok so Shout, you know you can buy a house in all the holds and once you fully decorate it you can store your items, adopt a child, and get married, also reading certain books will give you skill point bonuses there are a total of 90 skill books to be found 5 for each of the 18 skills, the appraiser is in Riften no spoiler you will have to find them lol
Torvar might not be the most handsome man to be all up in your face but I do admire his honestly that while all the others in the companions are going on about honour and glory he's just all 'Yeah Im here for the free drinks and to get drunk so what?'
There's over 300 books in Skyrim, trying to read them all would be a fools errand. A lot of them are lore dumps that if you want to learn more about the Elder Scrolls universe can be worthwhile, it just takes a long time to read them all. Some books will give you quests or mark locations on your map when you open them so it's good to at least open every book
SHOUT! I love seeing someone's first play thru of Skyrim. It's the 1 game I wish I could experience my first time play thru again and again and again. Can't wait until the next episode.
randomly stumbled upon your channel a couple days ago nd im loving the content alot rn. always brings back memories seeing other people play skyrim for the first time nd people enjoying and playing the game at their own pace.
All the staves replicate a magic spell using their "soul pool" as fuel instead of your magicka. The staff of sparks has sparks, a novice spell that you already learned, so I think it is better just to sell it. Shout!
I've watched all of your Skyrim episodes. I really appreciate your casual approach. Watching your videos let's me relive vicariously what it was playing Skrim for the first time, which is so stress relieving right now! Thank you! My tip would be: if you want to explore archery more successfully in this game, try sneaking more often. It will make it easier to target enemies from a diatance. SHOUT!
Hold on to your staff. Eventually you will get a house where you can store and display items. In one of my playtroughs I collected and read all of the books (there's a lot of them) and made my home into a library. Don't SHOUT indoors though, you'll make a mess.
shout - first don't worry about what others say on how to play (orc as warrior, high elf as magic user, etc). The game is so flexible, it truly doesn't matter. Then have some fun at the enchanting and potions table. Next, talk with the people - you might learn a thing or two. Lastly, just like in school, perhaps opening the book is as good as reading the book. I love that you are enjoying the game. I do!!
Skyrim has been such a big part of my life for the past several years I forget there are people who have never played it. I'm really enjoying seeing your playthrough and seeing fresh eyes learning the game. Takes me back lol
Watched all available episodes today. Subscribed. The first time I used a shout, it was directed at Irileth. She's a believer, now. Oh, I like longer episodes, 45 minutes or more. I'm old and have developed patience.
You will notice when you pick up and loot corpses, that some of the armor and weapons have a small triangle beside them in inventory. This means they are stronger and more powerful than what you have equipped. Always upgrade then sell the lesser .
I love watching your videos! Reminds of when I first played. Id say for a month straight I had no idea fast travel existed and I had walked EVERYWHERE! My game was definitely changed after that. If you told Sven the truth Faendal would be mad but all you would see out of it would be snide comments. You can still have him as a follower as far as my memory goes. I have a tip about followers who can "teach you" that you may like. just a warning ; This is kind of an exploit --- If you have a follower that can teach you, you can go into their inventory after and take the money back.
There are limited styles of staff's but tons of enchantments. If you're going for looks just to store it in your house, might be better off waiting for the cool enchantments. You can take stuff from friends and guilds you're a part of. Correct, he would have been mad at you and not wanted to be your friend/follower. Oh and check his inventory for any gold now. 😉 For shrines, open character menu, go to magic, scroll down to active effects. Books worth 50+ are worth a read. Shout.
lets go another video, i am always excited to see another video of you playing skyrim, just an idea that i got when you dropped all the books and talked about the goblet and mentioned a house, you can buy houses in skyrim from the major cities, like Riften, Whiterun, etc all of those and every house allows you to store gear like weapons, armour stands, as well as abundance of ingredients with your own personal alchemy and enchanting table with as well some potion recipes if you need help making some. I have only bought the one in Riften in my playthroughs as I generally mostly go to that city the most but you can buy a house from every other city in the game.just thought it would be interesting to see how you decorate the house as well.
Keep up the great work on the series. It's so nice to see someone playing through the game without tons of cuts and edits. I have to say I was worried you wouldn't try your shout before ending today.
I'm excited to see you do other things than the main story, seeing the "true" exploration play out, that's the good stuff, i wanna see you learn the game and uncover it's secrets and crevices, reminding us of our first time coming upon them.
You can pick your arrows back up from the ground also! And the light armor skill tree works well with bow builds (i know you mentioned in the beginning you like using bows, but I won’t backseat game your perk choices 👍) SHOUT!
tip: its helpful to change stones to help level up the skills you want to work on, then you can always change later. For example, use the warrior stone to work on your fighting abilities.. then once those are up, change to another.. say Mage stone to work on magic abilities, etc.
Staffs are a 8 pound way of doing spells. They are limited use, but they can be recharged with a soul gem so long as a soul has been absorbed into it. You can learn just about any spell that there is a staff for. Sparks is one of the lowest tier attack spells, you even come with it at the start of the game. You grabbed a soul gem at the end of bleak falls barrow. By casting the spell soul trap and killing a foe while it's active it will become filled with the enemies soul. Then it can be used for various magical benefits. It is also something that can be enchanted onto a melee/ranged weapon. With a well built mage, mana regenerates quite fast, eliminating most need for staffs. So long as you are strictly sticking to a different build and refusing to learn magic, staffs can be an attack option, but as far as I can remember there are no quest specific actions such as cast sparks on object to complete quest. Staffs do not need to be kept on the basis that you might need it, they exist to be used, sold, or discarded. A well built character of any class should not need to rely on staffs. If you like to play strategically they will have whatever use you can come up with. Anyway that concludes my information for the topic.
@@krileym Alright. I assumed I had jumped the gun as I started writing so dialed down my response a couple of times and did a swap after I did my first post. I can be pretty defensive and ready to argue with people quick. The information was basic but still important to new people. I assumed you were throwing out sarcasm. I've played over 1k hours on ps3. I've seen some people recently that try to gatekeep people who are new to a game and it's not cool.
Just a suggestion, it would probably be best if you released Faendal as your follower. He can actually die, and is an archery trainer. There are only 7 followers in the game who are also trainers. You generally don't want to let them die, because you can get free training from them. Get them as a follower, do your training, ask them to trade with you, and then take back all the gold you just gave them for the training. Also, just sell the Staff of Sparks. Low level damage spell staves are almost completely worthless, and you'll have to sink every soul gem you have early into recharging them. A Staff of Paralysis on the other hand... Is absolutely game breaking, and worth using every soul gem you have on.
@@adam_g. She is literally a noob, who has never played the game before this TH-cam series... Trainers are also not just for noobs. They're for completionists who don't want to spend 700 hours standing in front of a mudcrab holding right click to level their block to 100. To level any skill to 100 without trainers, takes about 80 levels generally (depending on race and skill). You can generally level a skill to 100 using trainers by the time your character level is 30. The game is designed around using trainers, and your character will be significantly weaker at any level if you do not use them. Yes, Staff of Paralysis is ridiculous. Did I not say it was "game breaking"? It's still hilarious, and a ton of fun to use. I would frequently just run around with a Staff of Paralysis, and a Sanguine Rose. Then just paralyze everything while my summon/follower kill them and I steal anything that isn't nailed down.
@@B_B-420 I guess I didn't mean noob in that way. As someone who has just started the game, it's better to develop skills authentically. You learn more get better, etc. Trainers are better at latter levels
I’m sure someone may have mentioned this, but if Faendal is your follower you can pay him to train you in archery then trade some things with him and take your gold back. Shops are generally open from 8am to 8pm. This is why you weren’t seeing as many people. Skip ahead to day. Also you went into the hall of the dead and didn’t talk to the priest who was sleeping to the left. He asks you to kill the skeletons and do something for him. Skills also level as you use them. So a follower is helpful, but you will want to level up your weapons by using them. Your enemies will level with you and you will want the perks you can only get from having higher level in your chosen skills
The game has high value books that can level up your skills. They usually have a higher value of around 50 gold or so. All other books are there for lore purposes.
Buying the house in Whiterun is 5000g and then more gold to buy furniture. Definitely worth it to be able to store things. You can build an alchemy table in your house. Ingredients don't weigh much but they add up quickly.
Humble brag but I've read all the books multiple times. Elder Scrolls lore gets deep, deep, deep. It used to be my ritual after making a new character in Morrowind to use the cheats to teleport to a cell in the game that contained every book and read them all before starting the game. The metaphysics are mindbending, thanks to Michael Kirkbride's excellent storytelling.
The best way to play skyrim for the first time is to get lost, explore, tinker, and don't worry to much about playing the game the "right way" as there really is no right way.
(20:27) The "Blessing of Arkay" magical affect has been added to the list of status conditions that currently affect you. Different shrines will give different blessings. You may also see a pop-up message when you contract a disease. You can see everything affecting you by looking at Magic > Active Effects. (21:10) To cancel a bow shot, use the "put away weapon" button.
The excitement I have, whilst watching you experience everything I did, makes me want to SHOUT! I noticed earlier you mentioned you're a bit of a hoarder (aren't we all). You may or may not inherit your own house to store things in 🤷🏻♂️. I wouldn't worry about keeping weapons and armour so much but one thing I will say is; definitely do not sell your soul gems. I won't spoil it for you as you will discover their value on your own but they can become quite invaluable when used correctly... Keep having fun with the game 👍🏻 and Hail Sithis
Hey first time viewing properly! Can't wait to see you get through the story! GOOD LUCK! Edit: Also little gameplay tip. This comes up in the little hints when loading areas too but, If you want to look at someone's inventory try pickpocketing them. JUST DON'T TAKE ANYTHING! Looking is ok, taking anything is a crime Edit 2: Ignore the unusual gem, it is worthless.
Gem is worthless unless you want to go for thieves guild. After you've collected all the gems and reforged the crown you'll soon be swimming in gemstones.
Here's a tip that's always worked for me: When assaulting a keep or when being charged, always take out the archers and spell casters first. Otherwise they'll slowly kill you before you have a chance to defend against them. Don't be afraid to go berserk on everyone.
7:30 so, you were asking about the staff of sparks and if it's useful. My answer: not really if you, the player are using it. However any followers you may have, definitely give them any and all staffs (at least 1 of every kind) they are really powerful with staffs. But, that's my recommendation. Hope you enjoy! Edit: Shout emoji exists. Here it is: 🗣
Shout out for the Dragonborn! If you would have told Carlotta the truth about Faendal / Sven, Faendal would not like you, and you coul have Sven as a companion instead. When you interact with shrines like you did in the Hall of the Dead, it does three things by default. It removes any diseases you might have contracted in your adventures, removes blessings from other gods / shrines then grants you the Blessing of the altar you touched (In this instance, Arkay). I am glad to see that you found out how to retract your arrow, definitely nice when you don't want to loose an arrow if you try to be sneaky sometime. You can also pick up arrows that miss as well if you find them.
The lie/truth Sven/Feandal thing: talking to either will give you a letter to lie or tell the truth about the other and depending on who gave you the letter and if you lie or not, you can get one or the other. I think Feandal is a better choice for early game since he is long range with the archery. Only you can kill your follower so it is easier to kill them if they use short range weapons and are more in the middle of the fight.
@@volehunter your follower can definitely be killed by others, it usually just doesn't happen because enemies stop attacking after they go to their knees. It's happened to me at least.
Most books are there for some lore background just an fyi. Any books with a value of 30 or above will most likely give you "something". But if you are into the lore and history, go for it! I love the curiosity.
Faendal and Sven have a pretty simple dynamic. They both wanted you to do a "favor" for them by slandering the other, and in either case, you can go to the other firdst and tell them they're being slandered, in which case they'll try to counter with the same, and whichever letter you have, you can present it to Camila to embarrass. one of them, or to reveal one of them for trying to slander the other. So in the end, either Sven or Faendal will like you for having helped them get the upper hand, and that one will then be a possible follower.
Quick tip: If you go to the stables outside Whiterun, you can hire the horse and carriage to take you to the main places in Skyrim! I found this so much easier then walking everywhere 😂
Wanted to let you know that if you shoot an arrow you can pick it back up sometimes and arrows in enemies can be collected in their inventory sometimes
Staves are basically like having a spell you can equip and use without having to worry about the magic requirements, since the spell channels from the staff's own charge. It just depends if you think you'll have a use for it. If you tell the truth in Faendal's quest you get Sven as a follower instead, which is arguably the more just option, but whenever Sven us idle he plays his flute all the time and he always picks a really awful pitch. I fired him just for being annoying. Magic > Active Effects lists all of the conditions applied to your character at any time, like buffs from spells and armour, shrine blessings, diseases, etc. All NPCs are on timed schedules. As a rule, shopkeepers work from 8am-8pm, although there are some exceptions. Generally outside of these hours shops and private residences will be locked, and NPCs will either stay in their homes, or go spend the evening in the local tavern or some other routine before going to bed. This might help with locating people if you check the current in-game time with the 'wait' feature and then go to where you think they might be. Some NPCs also have routines that vary on certain days of the week. Some NPCs are also triggered by actions you take, like reaching a certain level or doing certain things will cause certain NPCs to approach you. If you 'sheath' while you have an arrow notched, you'll put away the arrow without firing it. This can be handy if you're sneaking around a dungeon with your bow drawn and then decide you don't want to loose the arrow and make any noise. Now that you've killed a dragon and SHOUTED for the first time, as dragons do, things get a lot more interesting 😅
You must be the most easily disracted person ever. I was shouting "get to the damn dragon already" half the video. But you have a great curiosity to things and it makes a great content. You do you!
I’m sure someone has already commented this, but reading books sometimes gives you quests or puts locations on your map. Just hitting “read” and backing out right away is worthwhile. Books with higher “value” usually level up a skill instantly.
🎉 SHOUT!!! Congrats Dovahkiin. You are the Dragonborn. The glowing white blue bars on the navigation overlay at the top, shows the cool down of your shout. There is much to learn about being a Dovahkiin. The main quest line will take your through those trials and learning. Game Mechanic tip, the Shout is the same as your key for you Race ability I believe, which you need to switch between using the menus or hotkeys. Do take pointers on this and asking the community for specifics tips will absolutely help you along. Xena has a strong ‘Fus’. Make sure nobody gives away details too much, so read the menu items as much as you can and pay attention to the dialogue to figure out what you can and ask for help if you get stuck.
"ArrKay!" Made me shout out loud 😂 I'm having so much fun following your journey this far! Your video's are fun and entertaining, and I can tell that you're enjoying the game, which makes me happy as well ✌
Thanks for the great videos! Friendly tip: If you eat a giant's toe, a blue butterfly wing and hanging moss you will be able to talk to a giant. He will tell you to do something for him and afterwards he'll reward you with something really usefull and fun for a cool playthrough!
Before you level up. Make sure you do your armor your weapon. Because if you don’t you miss that opportunity do your armor weapons at your current level before you level up
And lo, with learning a 'SHOUT', Liz took her first steps along the path of the mighty dragonborn, and we were here to see it.
😄
hey would you be willing to react to a beginners guide to elder scrolls lore? i think that would be fun to watch. lore is one of my favorite things about the elder scrolls. lore in this series goes deeeeep.
Another note on books: you can buy all of Skyrim's books in physical form...they all fit in just three books!
Love your smile btw!
"SOMEONE DIED HERE? OH MY GOSH."
*immediately loots corpse*
LOL.
😇haha
The books priced higher at like 50-70 gold are skill books that will level a specific skill one level and then can be sold after unless its a spell book which teaches a spell and then gets consumed. They're scattered all around the world so always check books when you see them when exploring.
Also shops open at 8am and close at 8pm, though sometimes that can be a little glitchy.
Sorry for the essay, keep it up and have fun 👍
Great tips! The Drunken Huntsman (about 25:15 in the video) is open 24/7.
And Belethor opens and closes when he feels like it. Despite being scripted otherwise.
@@ElPayasoMalo I absolutely would've sworn it was a fletcher and not a tavern, but Google says you're right and I'm wrong, but I'm trippin about it
I agree, the reading time segments are awesome.
You people need to stop going on about mods.. Just let her enjoy the game
Or just play Oblivion eh
Also Make sure you read Lusty Argonian Maid thoroughly, it is the best book by far. >:)
@@tildessmoo
*_"Is disenchanting staffs a Dragonborn dlc thing?"_*
I've had Dragonborn for years, but I cannot disenchant Staffs. But I'm playing Legendary Edition, not SE, and I don't know if you can in that version.
{:o:O:}
Normal books have a value of under 10 the skill books have a value of 50 books with skills with have a random value above 10 but below 50
Yes disenchant everything.
The most fun thing ever:
Equip Bow > Slow Time shout > catch enemy arrow > return to sender
@@JBWinter This implies you can catch them in normal time too and I always try it.
Also, she left an arrow in Balgruf's floor. Ruuuuude.
@@JBWinter How do you catch an arrow in mid air?
@@rainbowpegacornstudios You can grab flying arrows by hitting the same button you would if they were on the ground. They just move too fast for you to do it. That's why you need at least 2 words of Slow Time, which stacks with the Steady Hand Archery perk to make time *VERY* slow
Useful Tips!
- Upgrading your stamina will also upgrade your carry weight.
- putting your bow and sword as your "favorite" will allow you to engage an enemy with your bow, then quickly switch to a close range weapon when youll need it most.
- you can pay with gold to increase your bow skill from your follower, then ask for him to "carry some things for you" then you can take your money back! lol
- the gentleman on the horse and carriage is a great way to travel around the major parts of Skyrim.
- if you want some really cool/good armour.....travel to a place called "dawnstar" North-Centre of the map. run towards the town may take a couple of attempts or days but... youll eventually find some caravan traders (cat people) and they will have guards....youll know which one im talking about. kill them....loot them :)
Youre killing it on this playthrough! ive played this game so much and have done many characters and honestly....im a little sick of it. but seeing someone play this and have the same excitement i once had with this game...makes me happy. i remember when i was young...i didnt want to enter "the sleeping giant inn" because i knew i wouldnt stand a chance against a giant! asked mum what a "inn" was...found out and built up enough courage to go in!!
im loving this series so much because its bringing back so many memories ive had. im so invested in this series and channel itself that i subbed and im looking forward to seeing the next one! also.....shout!!🤣😂🤣😂
Thank you so much for answering my questions and watching and commenting!!
In the companion Talk to the old man to enjoying the companion
I'm honestly just so excited for you to experience this game!!😱😱
Yay! Me too!
Loved your first experience fighting a dragon, they can be very scary.:3
Shouts are awesome, gathering words from ancient word walls (like you found in Bleak Falls Barrow) is a great way of exploring Skyrim.
As for your questions and tips:
'Blessing added' means that the divine blessing was added to your active effects (you can find them at the bottom of the list under Magic).
"I'm bored of this book, I'm bored of that book - I just threw them all on the ground." You, my dear, are a TRUE Skyrim player!
Instead, warriors seeking adventure and kinship may join the Companions, in Whiterun."_

Should defo keep the dug barks in the video. Perhaps even a guest appearance fae Zena one day ehh 👀
Agreed. So much of it is trying to re-capture that magic of seeing it for the first time.
it's so fun to watch someone experience skyim for the first time. you get so many staves in skyrim either use it up or sell it. they are great for magic users when they run out of mana but fun to use anyway so always try to have one one me. free magic
I like how a dragon is actively attacking and she’s just like, “Hmm time to do some reading”
😆
The quintessential Skyrim experience!
A little chatting, a little browsing, some snooping around people's houses. What's this? A beautiful buffet...
But that's the quintessential Skyrim experience!
NPC: "A dragon is attacking! We need your help!"
You: "Oh no. So anyway-"
And even then not everything will be listed at "take"
The shops close a night also, but will open at 8am in game time.
Awesome! You’re doing really good. Looking forward to episode 7 👍🏻
It’s great to see someone experience this masterpiece for the first time.
Thank you so much!!
Before you get Speech 50 perk, I always sell dragon bones to apothecaries to save gold totals at general goods stores.
Shout, of course. See how cool it is to fight the dragons. 😮🏹😊
randomly stumbled upon your channel a couple days ago nd im loving the content alot rn. always brings back memories seeing other people play skyrim for the first time nd people enjoying and playing the game at their own pace.
Thank you!!
Same .. also started a new character :)
All the staves replicate a magic spell using their "soul pool" as fuel instead of your magicka. The staff of sparks has sparks, a novice spell that you already learned, so I think it is better just to sell it.
Shout!
Thank you!
That depends.. If she doesn't want to level Destruction then it's better to use the staff
I just hoard all those staffs. She needs to get a place to start hoarding... I mean storing things.
@@markmorris7123 using the staff also levels destruction right?

Thank you! You're welcome!
SHOUT!
Thank you so much!
Hold on to your staff. Eventually you will get a house where you can store and display items.
In one of my playtroughs I collected and read all of the books (there's a lot of them) and made my home into a library.
Don't SHOUT indoors though, you'll make a mess.
congtrats. dragonborn, If you love wolfhounds , youll love Barbas. (Shout)
Watching your face when you learned your first shout was awesome! You looked so excited!
shout - first don't worry about what others say on how to play (orc as warrior, high elf as magic user, etc).
🗣️another great episode!
Just a shout to say I am having a lot of fun watching your blind play!! Cant wait for the next ep!
For shrines, open character menu, go to magic, scroll down to active effects.
Opening with "bruh right in my face, yessss" I know what you're doing there.
I'm excited to see you do other things than the main story, seeing the "true" exploration play out, that's the good stuff, i wanna see you learn the game and uncover it's secrets and crevices, reminding us of our first time coming upon them.
Yes, as in many games, talk to everyone.
You can pick your arrows back up from the ground also! And the light armor skill tree works well with bow builds (i know you mentioned in the beginning you like using bows, but I won’t backseat game your perk choices 👍) SHOUT!
They told me to quit shouting, so I told them I'm dragonborn 🙃
SHOUT OUT to ya Liz!! Give that elf Faendal some armor! Don't forget to take YOUR money back from him either.
tip: its helpful to change stones to help level up the skills you want to work on, then you can always change later. For example, use the warrior stone to work on your fighting abilities.. then once those are up, change to another.. say Mage stone to work on magic abilities, etc.
Shouts are pretty cool! I look forward to watching you learn more about being Dragonborn :)
Holy useful pointers, Batman! Your input, as can be expected of a philanthropic nobleman, was spot on, aside from mana being called magicka in Skyrim.
@@krileym She specifically asked about this, so I specifically answered.
@@DarkKnightBatman420 I was sincere.
@@krileym Alright. I assumed I had jumped the gun as I started writing so dialed down my response a couple of times and did a swap after I did my first post. I can be pretty defensive and ready to argue with people quick.

It's fun watching a newbie SHOUT for the first time.
Bad advice. Trainers are for noobs for the most part, and staff of paralysis is equally ridiculous
Keep looking for the shouts! There are some really cool ones out there. Also, watching your follower numbers climb is pretty cool...
this series is so exciting im literally shouting
I'm so happy to see you experience the same joy I had when it first came out in 2011!!! Really enjoyed it
Humble brag but I've read all the books multiple times.
Love watching you play through!! Talking to everyone will unlock quests for rare items and unlock branches of the main story.
Your character race and build babe 😘

Looking is ok, taking anything is a crime
Edit 2: Ignore the unusual gem, it is worthless.
Unless you successfully pickpocket. Save before doing.
This too ^
Gem is worthless unless you want to go for thieves guild. After you've collected all the gems and reforged the crown you'll soon be swimming in gemstones.
Yaaasss. The unusual gem quest unless you find all 24 of them… pain in the arse. And don’t get me started on merida’s beacon!
@@leighannebrown-pedersen7536 I mean if you do it immediately Meridia's Beacon is good. So is the reward.
Here's a tip that's always worked for me:
When assaulting a keep or when being charged, always take out the archers and spell casters first.
*Shout* Out to all my fellow Bosmer
Most books are there for some lore background just an fyi. Any books with a value of 30 or above will most likely give you "something". But if you are into the lore and history, go for it! I love the curiosity.
Imagine how shocked she will be once she reach Blackreach! :D
Remember - NO SPOILERS
Glad you’re enjoying your playthrough. Writing before the secret word but trust I watched till the end
You know you make me wanna SHOUT! 🎶
🎶
Because if you don’t you miss that opportunity do your armor weapons at your current level before you level up
When you have a follower you can use him as a pack mule to carry loot. Shout.
Glad you're enjoying the game. The Fus shout🗣️ can be fun, but can also make neutral NPCs aggressive.
