I'm sure your grandmother is looking down from heaven and probably frustrated as the rest of us are waiting on Elder Scrolls 6 to come out. You might be a grandparent by then?
I once used the boots of Azhidal to cross the lava in the aetherium forge... and it worked! You still get fire damage but with a high magic resistance, it's a piece of cake. And you can get to the hidden chest.
It's good until you start fighting mid-high lvl spell magic users that will break your spellbreaker, which will stun and leave you wide open for free attack 2-3sec taking more dmg than if you simply dodged or used blocking magic resist perk
Here's my personal picks for each category. Clothes: Archmage's Robes. Hard to argue with this pick (though the Taven Clothes on female characters are a VERY close second, despite being unenchanted) Hands: Fists of Randagulf (CC). 20% more Melee Damage (a flat 20 to Unarmed) and 20% better block, these bad boys are Crazy Strong early on, and as a Khajiit (Unarmed Damage of 22) with Fists of Steel it brings your Unarmed Damage to an astonishing 57 (20+15 Base Armor)! The only weapon that comes anywhere close to that per hit damage is the Hammer of Stendarr which has a functional base damage of 50 (28 Base Damage, 22 from the Enchantment), but that has the downside of taking 20 points of your stamina every swing... and being a big slow warhammer. Feet: I'm gonna give it to Ahzidal's boots of Waterwalking. Even if I don't use them for anything other than Enchanting, the ability to walk on Water is still fun. Circlets: Aetherial Crown. It's not even close. Hoods: The Grey Cowl of Nocturnal (CC). You don't need to join the Guild to get this bad boy. Passive Detect live (with different colors to differentiate if NPCs are Neutral or Hostile!) and a boost to Carry weight and Sneaking! Granted it has the downside of turning all guards hostile, but there's a very simple solution for this; Just take the damn thing off before Fast Travelling to a City or Town. Helm: Say what you will, but the Masque of Clavicus Vile is the fit for me. Better Prices on a Headpiece without joining the guild, and as someone who almost always plays a Spell Sword, the 5% Magicka regen is a nice bonus. Masks: It's a Tie between Ahzidal, Zahkriisos, and Konahrik. Konahrik needs no introduction, but the other 2 act as a third rank of their respective Augment Element Perk, Fire Especially benefits from this (75% from both ranks of the perk and Helmet, and then an extra 15 Damage from Aspect of Terror after both ranks of Augment Flames and Intense Flames, though only spells get the 15 extra damage enchantments don't). Chest: I'm going to go with the Lord's Mail. Rather than a Poison aura (poison can be resisted), the Mail has a unique Drain HP effect that it casts on Enemies in Melee range (5HP a Second). It also gives 75% Poison resistance (almost the Resistance Cap, 85%) and a 17% Resistance to All Magic! And frankly, it looks better than the Ebony Mail IMO, It's certainly easier to find a good looking pair of Gauntlets and Boots to Match it. Neck: The Warlock's Mark is very useful for Conjurers (30% reduction), Virya's Charm makes you tankier (22 point bonus to both armor skills and the convenience of Waterbreathing), but I'll agree with the Galdur Amulet. Ring: By the Eight there's a lot of Rings, Especially after Fishing. The Ring of the Wind makes you move 15% faster. The Warlock's ring turns any shield (or blocking in General) into Spellbreaker by casting a ward AND makes your health regen faster. The Denstagmer's Ring pairs well with Otar for a combined 50% resistance to all 3 magic types. BUT I'm going to say that the Ring of Khajiit is OP because of how early you can get it. You move 10% faster which is Nice, but it lets you cast Hide at any level; an adept level spell that turns you invisible for 15 seconds (30 when dual cast). And here's the best part; it's base spell cost is 33 Magicka. Any Race can cast this spell 3 times with the base Magicka pool! And the quest isn't all that difficult either (Spirits away), all you do is fish up some Alcohol for Ri'Saad, granted it is a fair bit into Virya's fishing Quests.
I gave my copy of skyrim to someone who has never played it, cause everyone should love this game as much as any who watch this channel. I miss my copy already and watching your videos gives a small piece of it back to me. Thanks wizard I truly appreciate it.
Hiya TWW, newcomer to the channel. Love the vids, the humor, the detail, they all just scream high quality and it is astounding how much effort you put into each ad every video. I just wanted to say I love using Spellbreaker when paired with the Warlock's Ring as the Ward effect stacks, layering Spellbreaker's 50 point Ward with the rings 25 pointer.
Ahzidal's Boots of Waterwalking are good if you're traveling from Mortal to Solitude and you have to go across the water. Especially if you are doing a Survival mode playthrough.
That's probably because the main quest in skyrim is genuinely horrible, it's okay the first time you do it but then its just trash, not at all close to morrowind or daggerfall.
For the gauntlets, I do think the Ancient Shrouded Gloves are underrated. Sure backstabs can be hard to execute, but if you have 100 in sneak and take the Assassin's Blade perk, you can have a sneak attack with a dagger do *x30* damage. And if you pop use Berserker rage, it can take the backstab damage up to *x60.* The Blade of Woe and Dragonbone Dagger both have a base damage of 12, so you can see where funny numbers can come from. The true comedy comes from the 100 sneak perk, shadow warrior, where if you crouch, enemies will lose aggro for a moment, and if you execute an attack in that brief moment, it counts as sneak, so you can go up to any enemy (though enemies with high perception might not work as well), aggressively T-bag until you get the basically one-shot. And getting 100 sneak is pretty easy too.
My brother-in-law he’s a young teen never heard of Skyrim until I introduced the game. Now it’s his favorite game lol 😂 and he’s already figured out the mods so he has a blast with the game.
I agree on the Aetherium Crown, but due to a bug that allows you to have it's effect without having the crown on, I believe after using that bug, the Diadem of the Savant is the best circlet. Light armor rating that doesn't conflict with the Mage Armor perk. -5% cost to all spells, which stacks with the Arch Mage robes and the Mentor's Ring. (-30% in total)
3 items that you kind of missed: the circlet the dendum of the savant (can't remember off the top of my head if it has an armor rating but I don't think so) and the sarthaul amulet both have similar enchantments as the archmage's robes just not as strong combine all 3 and you get a 23% reduction to all schools of magic and the shield turge of the blooded (I think that's its name) it has spikes on it that cause bleed damage when you bash with it and if I remember right it stacks (sorry can't remember their exact spellings and don't feel like putting Skyrim in to see them lol)
I once found INSANE dragon bone enhancted armor, all insulated too + health. I'm now at like 500 carry weight cap with 540 HP to pair lol. (Also, MAN I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!!!)
I kinda wish they would add in set bonuses for every armor so that way Iron and Leather early game can be used instead of getting early steel armor from Jarl Balgruuf, like how Zelda Totk did for it's weapons How about a video for best builds for the classic warrior, rogue, and mage?
Personally? I prefer enchantment of Shrouded Gloves for #1 Gloves of Skyrim. DOUBLE. SNEAK. DAMAGE. With those suckers on, you can One-Tap Ancient Dragon. As for Ring, I love Ahzidal's Ring of Arcana. "Ignite" is such a broken spell as that Damage Over Time stacks, and it costs less mana than Fireball. So spam that and you reduce anything to cinders... (Love Mod allowing me to that glove enchant to any item... Such as my Daedric Mail Gauntlets, along Muffle... Hail Sithis.)
The thing with muffle boots is you can actually get the best ones from merchants, or possibly loots, cause merchants can have muffle boots for sale on the light and heavy armor side
Did they ever patch the thing of pre-existing muffle enchantments being 50%, but player done ones are 100% always, so you'd always want to make your own?
@doctorcis3510 I've never seen any muffle enchantments I find being 50% or 100%, and there was no real difference when I used the boots from merchants or ones I made myself, so if that was an actual bug that existed then it should've been fixed now Edit: apparently it's still a thing according to the uesp wiki, so yeah player enchanted muffle is better
I wish more legendary items had unique enchants, cuz most of my games i wear OP items i can make via BS+ALCH+ENCH and those are usually so much better . few exceptions that are actually unique are luckily listed here ,like Ebony mail !
How do you get all the standing stones at once? I'm not familiar with that exploit. I thought i knew all the exploits between mitten squad, spiffing brit, ymfah, and all the other greats
Excellent Underutilized Choice! Found those for my level 1 Character. But the Nightingale Boots had Muffle too, with a second enchantment that I forgot but was better than 1% stamina recovery. I hope you found Bloodthorn at that same location.
fun fact fur armor tho its called armor is clothing. so technically fur armor is the best clothing. its the only clothing you can make strong by smithing. unless they just changed it when they added that god dam update that broke the game recently.
Oblivion: I made a set of rings, necklace, and bracelets that make me 110% invisible allowing me to slap someone, talk to them, them slap them again without them ever knowing I am there.
What mod do you use for your robes? I’ve been trying to find some classic/arcane sorcerer robes and they’re all plain/boring/too Nordic. I want the moon and stars!
You would think the first person on the list of who "doesn't love a good daedric deal" would be Sebastian Lort. You know, the guy you have to kill to get the rueful axe in the first place?
Personally I'd put the Masque of Clavicus Vile over the Visage of Mzund (Autocorrect fucking hates me now XD), granted it is situational. Say you're playing a character that doesn't want anything to do with the Thieves Guild, you're cut off from the Guildmaster's Hood and Blackguard hood (assuming you don't want to do a little glitching for the latter), the Masque is the next best piece of headgear for Price Reduction after those hoods. But there are better Helmets anyway (excluding ones WE can make, because those will always be better); The Ancient Helmet of the Unburned and Helm of Yngol (40% increased to fire/frost respectively) look awesome due to the Ancient Nord design (and the Helm of Yngol is completely unique in design).
i figured out while in werewolf form you can kill essential npcs when you do the run power attack where you pounce them and tear them open it works on essential npcs sometimes actually killing them figured it out when i accidentally killed that the jarl during my rampage the first time you turn
With enchanting and smithing being as powerful and exploitable as they are, a lot of the items you mentioned become underpowered. Some of the items you mentioned are seemingly OP, but don't quite deliver the goods. And some items that are TRULY overpowered weren't even mentioned. Let's have a look at the items you mentioned, that have a unique enchantment. - Archmage's Robes - The enchantments are basically the same level as any Adept robes, and while you get 15% off on all spells, you need to ask yourself: "Are you really using spells from all schools?" I'll take Master Robes any day before the Archmage's Robes, and add some jewelery to get the boosts I want. - Aetherial Crown - Apart from one or two niche builds, this item is only good for one thing. Gaining XP! A circlet with any generic enchantment is better for everything else. - Visage of Mzund - So, after slaying allthose dragons and wading through draugr and bandits to unlock those shouts, along comes an item that completely blocks these shouts, and replace it with something so utterly useless, that it's not even funny. You're actually better off going bareheaded, as you have the ability to FusRoDah anything that tries to hit you on your precious head. Calling this item garbage doesn't even begin to describe it! And now for the item you didn't mention... Ahzidal's Ring of Arcana! A very inconspicuous enchantment at first glance: It adds two spells. Ignite and Freeze. The big one is Ignite. As many of us are well aware of, you can boost your fire spells when you're undead, by combining Augmented Flames, Necromage and Aspect of Terror. THAT'S OP!!!
As little as it does, I'd say the diadem of the savant is a better match for the archmage robes over morokei, at least it doesn't conflict with the hood.
I looked at them. In vanilla Skyrim, the increase to your Stamina is 1% - almost nothing which is why they weren’t the best for me. However, when the Stamina enchantment performs as intended (100%) with the Unofficial Patch, then that’s a different story
Bro forgot about Predator's Grace, funnily enough at the same place you find the ancient shrouded boots, at least location wise. It has muffle, and your stamina regen's 1% faster. You'd think this means nothing, but you can do constant power attacks with weapons using them, even with no stamina. Very much overbearing, especially if using daggers and elemental fury, for absolute speed~
This was just my take on the best vanilla unique armors pieces. I may do the same for the creation club armors though. Thumbs up if you’d like to see that 👍
You're telling me the Welsh Wizard, who undoubtedly has the Muffle spell and Illusion perk of Silent Spellcasting, both of which are very easily obtained even by non wizards, placed Muffle boots above all others?
You fail to mention that, you cannot put certain enchantments on certain armor pieces by yourself. This means Cicero hat is better than Ancient Shroud, in terms of "minmixxing."
Every unique item that already contains an enchantment cannot be further enchanted (there may be 1 or 2 exceptions to this rule). But I don’t believe Cicero’s Hat is an exception, unfortunately. It already has an enchantment on it, and therefore, cannot be further enchanted.
the Dragon Priest mask rank is wrong due to fact how deep you need to be in to game to get it, personally the last time i got to low HP in a Skyrim play through has been over 500hrs+ and ill just pop a potion for a reliable heal, the fact that if you are playing to the point to unlock the last dragon priest mask you should not be dying for any reason making the mask useless therefore making any of the normal mask practical *depending on play style/build is what you will pick* the actual viable candidate
There's literally no point in giving a heavy armor piece a higher rating due to it being lighter. By the end of the heavy armor skill tree, all of it will weigh nothing.
I've always felt the Master Destruction Robes were far superior to the Arch Mage robes. Not to mention the Arch Mage robes (as you stated) are ugly as hell.
Looks like True Directional Movement with True HUD. To run TDM you need Nemesis Engine and might need to disable/uninstall FNIS and any mod that uses it that can't run along side Nemesis.
Ah, yes. The archmage's robes. Literally a downgrade from my master tier level sorcery robes... or any self-enchanted chest piece. They really should have given them a unique effect, or gave you an un-enchanted spare robe. What kind of Archmage doesnt enchant his own robes. This is further accented by you only being able to wear circlets or masks with the robe since you HAVE to have the hood up.
I guess Savos Aren or one of the earlier Arch-Mages beat us to it 🤷🏼♂️ but yeah, an unenchanted version of that rug would’ve been nice (or just the ability to remove enchantments).
Most overpowered? Definately try Enchanting 100 + Smithing 100.. and if you want to overdo (aka exploit) it also try Alchemy, especially Alchemy enhancing those two skills. But it does destroy the game, because the whole "get better items aspect" will vanish and also the challenge (you may 1 hit kill dragons on hardest difficulty etc)
The best armor in Skyrim is the enchanted light Imperial armor my character with level 100 skills in smithing, enchantment, and alchemy makes, improves, and enchants themselves.

Spellbreaker is a must have even if you don't use shields that much. It's simply too good to miss out on.

Hard to argue with this pick (though the Taven Clothes on female characters are a VERY close second, despite being unenchanted)
Hands: Fists of Randagulf (CC).

Fellow Winterhold College 🎓 here & avid user of The Archmage's Robes, WORTH IT😉.
Best smithing category: Advanced. Lots of sets under that and just 50 smithing required
i figured out while in werewolf form you can kill essential npcs when you do the run power attack where you pounce them and tear them open it works on essential npcs sometimes actually killing them figured it out when i accidentally killed that the jarl during my rampage the first time you turn
Oh wow lol! Must try 🐺
Yeah, that’s also a great choice 👍
You should do a creation club ranking
Actually for footwear, predator's grace is better since it muffles the wearer on top of regenerating stamina faster.
Bloodworm Helmet has Necromage on it.
Nightingale Boots Have Muffle and a second Enchantment.
Fists of Radagolf boosts 3 different things.
This was just my take on the best vanilla unique armors pieces. I may do the same for the creation club armors though. Thumbs up if you’d like to see that 👍
@@theWelshWizard Definitely! Soory about the Helmet and Fists then. That's an awesome video I'd love to see 😁
You're telling me the Welsh Wizard, who undoubtedly has the Muffle spell and Illusion perk of Silent Spellcasting, both of which are very easily obtained even by non wizards, placed Muffle boots above all others?
I always say it… I am unbiased, sir/madam🧙♂️
Idk the spiked shield that deals bleed damage is kinda broken. Fun fact bleeding stacks infinitely
I love a good daedrick deal.
Unfortunately, most dardrick deals are bad
Depends who you ask hehe 😈
Second wizard to post
You fail to mention that, you cannot put certain enchantments on certain armor pieces by yourself. This means Cicero hat is better than Ancient Shroud, in terms of "minmixxing."
Every unique item that already contains an enchantment cannot be further enchanted (there may be 1 or 2 exceptions to this rule). But I don’t believe Cicero’s Hat is an exception, unfortunately. It already has an enchantment on it, and therefore, cannot be further enchanted.
Could you do one on daedric artifacts?
ebony mail is even better it works with become atherial
Mr WelshWizard I love you
No, I love you 😉
the Dragon Priest mask rank is wrong due to fact how deep you need to be in to game to get it, personally the last time i got to low HP in a Skyrim play through has been over 500hrs+ and ill just pop a potion for a reliable heal, the fact that if you are playing to the point to unlock the last dragon priest mask you should not be dying for any reason making the mask useless therefore making any of the normal mask practical *depending on play style/build is what you will pick* the actual viable candidate
Are mods on console working again or are the still broken
With armor like this anyone can defeat the wyverns of skyrim.
There's literally no point in giving a heavy armor piece a higher rating due to it being lighter. By the end of the heavy armor skill tree, all of it will weigh nothing.
That’s just a bonus. The Ebony Mail is still the best unique cuirass for me, regardless of weight
If you use that steam attack on water would it boil the water like when you use a fire attack
The most important question is though: Can clothing even be considered armor? 🤔
I've always felt the Master Destruction Robes were far superior to the Arch Mage robes. Not to mention the Arch Mage robes (as you stated) are ugly as hell.
Possibly, but they weren’t considered in this video as they’re not unique
@@theWelshWizard Right. Thats fair.
Someone, send this video to Willow for a new Skyrim Challenge video!
skyrim but the dovakiin has a dova anti air monster gun
I used the helmet before watching this
So I glitched the game. Now I have all standing stones active
You're already an invincible wizard, what need do you have for armor?
This is not for my benefit, but yours, friend
Why is your spellbreaker backwards?
Except the Hircine ring forces you into the miserable third person camera, so a giant no (at least without a mod).
1:20 I like cheese . (someone had to say it)
Anyone know the name of the mod he uses to target lock on opponents?
6:10 f-from what?? It is etherium, thats why The etherial crown
Anybody know what graphics mods he uses?
Most overpowered? Definately try Enchanting 100 + Smithing 100.. and if you want to overdo (aka exploit) it also try Alchemy, especially Alchemy enhancing those two skills. But it does destroy the game, because the whole "get better items aspect" will vanish and also the challenge (you may 1 hit kill dragons on hardest difficulty etc)
Unfortunately I think my 100% destruction and healing spell cost reduction Daedric Armor is slightly better D,:
Awesome
What is that lock picking hud mod
The best armor in Skyrim is the enchanted light Imperial armor my character with level 100 skills in smithing, enchantment, and alchemy makes, improves, and enchants themselves.
is ur outfit a mod?
