Thank you for the comparison, it hits the nail for me. I played Skyrim VR once on PSVR1 and quit, after years I tried now the PCVR version directly with Skyrim VR Minimalistic Overhaul and 233 active mods (standard setting) and what should I say? It was an overwhelming VRish experience. Suddenly, the natural interaction was there, the melee combat felt soooo much better! The graphics popped, dungeons, outdoor are so good now. I also like the challenge of melee combat very much now. Yes, I just repeat what you already say in the video, fantastic VR game with mods. Hopefully, the day is near when games like Skyrim are natively developed for VR.. but until then we still have Skyrim and wabbajack :)
Maybe blade and sorcery parrying/attacking elements, but also if NPCs were more interactive would help a lot. high interactivity would drive VR open world through the roof.
Man, i just stepped in modding skyrim and bro, I never thought this was so overwhelming. I lost so many hours aswell and i finally got it working an hour ago. Also thanks to fus although it took me 3 installs to get it running. I’m going to dive deep into it now. Goodbye real life!
One thing i find amazing about skyrim VR, even in its vanilla state, is how they turned a non-vr game into a vr one. I kind of hope they do the same for TES6 but from launch. Considering it runs on the same engine. It also gives me hope for the future of VR. More companies should be doing that. Especially in the RPG, FPS space. That would flood the vr market with some high quality shit.
Absolutely! Just as an aside: there is constantly new stuff popping up in the flatscreen to VR space and it's really exciting to see a whole community working to add new layers of VR experience to games that were previously just flat. It's a great time to have a VR headset!
The best VR games are ones purpose built for VR, not ones ported from non-VR. Most good VR mechanics don't translate well into non-VR games and vice versa.
That was one of the best and funniest videos I've seen in a while. My brother and I watched it together while researching his VR setup and we were crying laughing. Well done man.
Trying to hold hands with NPCs is my favourite thing to do in Skyrim vr. Best time to do it is with hadvar during balgruffs speach after defending whiterun😆
The problem with vanilla Skyrim and Fallout 4 VR are that they’re nothing more than ports of old games. They have a lot of potential to be amazing VR games, the likes not found anywhere else in the industry, but they just don’t accomplish that on their own. Mods like VRIK and HIGGS prove that Skyrim VR would have been amazing provided they didn’t half-ass it.
I can’t wait to experience this. I’ve never stepped foot into ANY VR game, never even tried it at a friends house. I’ve been saving for a while to build a gaming PC, VR, and racing sim setup. Haven’t had a gaming PC since 2014 so I’m hyped for that alone but I can not wait to experience both VR gaming for the first time and one of my favorite games of all time in VR.
For those folks looking for a solid set of mods (and for you, too, Remis!), I highly recommend this one from the Nexus - "VR Edition - The 11 Years Of Skyrim Ultimate Graphics Mod Pack". it's a wabbajack profile that you can run after the vanilla install of Skyrim VR, and it is the most realistic looking mod of Skyrim I've seen. Unbelievable detail. The one Remis has here looks nice, but frankly pales by comparison. Trees, rocks, and people all look almost photo real. It combines 300 mods into one installation. There's also a video that will walk you through the setup.
I tries this mod list and while what you are saying is true, it has a lot of problems too. I have a 3090 and the performance was horrible especially outside. Also, the FUS mod list seems much more refined while the 11 years one has a lot of bugs that sometimes break the immersion. I have been moving Skyrim VR for years and the FUS mod list is by far my favorite one.
Love the video and how down to earth your commentary is! I've been a Skyrim player since it came out and my goal is to play it in VR soon with mods. Good stuff man
If you wanted it to be immersive all you need was 4 base mods HIGGS, VRIK, PLANCK, and a directional sound all the other you could of added to fit you specifically
Awesome, this is what I was looking for with Sky Rim. A small taste of original VR Sky Rim game play, and then with Mods installed. I don't have the game yet, so trying to get an idea why we even need the mods. Thanks for this video. Take care.
I feel like playing a sneaky character in skyrim vr will take the role to all new heights from a roleplay aspect. You could really be a stickler in things like dark brotherhood missions and personally drag and carry bodies and hide them thanks to the amazing interactivity with the world in the mods. Also the idea of throwing bandits off a mountain makes me wish i had a pc capable of VR right this instant!!
First time I booted it I was in the cart and it was spinning with me in it. Another time the horses and buggies in front of me were doing the same thing and my buggy outran theirs not triggering the first gate to open. Apparently if your headset doesn’t match what’s in the ini files everything is going to freak out. So I found what to change and that was better. Otherwise it was insanely unplayable to where I couldn’t even get to the executioner.
Skyrim in VR has so much potential I just wish they would have done the bare minimum with VR Mechanics not the bare minimum to call it a VR game and then sell it separately😅
He could have just used vortex mod manager. The main mods to get are HIGGS, PLANCK, VRIK, realistic lighting overhaul, static mesh improvement, SKSEVR, SKUIVR, and Skyrim 202X also known as Skyrim 2020 for better graphics. Hope this helped :)
I mean thats definitely an option, but you still need to setup a vortex profile for skyrim vr, go to each of those nexus pages individually, download through vortex and get going. Could also use a Nexus Collection... I didn't know exactly what was needed and was just keen to get going, so Wabbajack with all the essentials and more worked better for me.
This is honestly the video I've been looking for and considering making myself. I just haven't had the time to sit and mod even a wabbajack install. And it seems like everytime I want to go ahead and do it, a new mod comes out. Like now there's a DLSS mod for VR. So I will 100% jump in now.
I've always put it off because of too much manual configuration. But with wabbajack it is now really feasible and it is definitely worth it to experience the world of Skyrim with mods! Without a premium account on Nexus, it's still a clickeridoo for downloading every mod, but no more in-depth manual configuration is needed.
My vanilla VR version was unplayable. First I had to adjust my Index controller Settings in the Steam VR settings. After that I played the Intro and the carriage kept spinning, the horses kept dieing. But I'm glad there is Wabbajack and the FUS modlist.
I definitely recommend reading about the mods before playing the modlist otherwise you'll miss a lot and understand even less. Just from FUS in this video, weapon holsters from VRIK and spell glyphs from MageVR were missed which make equipping weapons and spells more immersive than using the spell wheel. I'm still in the process of setting mine up. It's a lot of work and sadly not getting the performance this video shows 😢.
Ive had Skyrim since weekend of release, playing on my PS3 it actually caused my PS3 to YLOD and burn out. I then bought the remaster on PS4 and got the PSVR headset for Skyrim VR. I will say, I was underwhelmed with it but i loved the world so much i kept with it for a few months. I then finally saw the light and got a gaming PC and Quest 2 I will never look back ( it is expensive but well worth it). It then got even better with mods! I was running about 200 ish mods and the game looked fantastic. I am now using the Wabbajack modlists and it just keeps getting better. One big thing i will say about the vanilla PCVR game is that once you have 4k modded textures it looks soooo much better, even with dynamic resolution off on the vanilla game the clarity is not great.... with mods it really increased the clarity a lot! And the detail in the distance is much improved! It really makes all the difference and increases immersion to that next level, you would think you have spent a load of extra money to make the game look better, but its all free BUT! support nexus mods guys, its worth it and pays the creators and website back a bit. Plus you dont have to keep clicking the download button for every damn mod! Skyrim VR is about 14.5GB the mods i have are about 45GB and counting so you do the math, they do deserve a bit of cash for all this effort to make the game look this good!
Amazing vid!! Definitely gonna have to install this mod pack, I just got my first VR headset and getting mod packs for skyrim VR has definitely been overwhelming.
Weird this pops up on my feed. I'm currently half way through the same thing. I've just done a completely vanilla run to the end of bleak falls barrow. Currently waiting on nexus and vortex to install a collection. Couldn't be bothered with trying to figure out everything again. The last time I modded skyrim was with the nexus mod manager, vortex is complete new to me 😂
Heya, thanks for pointing this out. I'm actually a little embarrassed that I didn't connect these dots earlier 😅. I think I must have had a brain malfunction while trying to work out which mods id need from the pages and pages of mods available that I just completely overlooked it. I'll check out the collections in future!
SkyrimVR modded can absolutely be a whole new game though :p Combat mods and higgs/vriggs/planck etc change it from a 3D view for an 11 year old game to VR Skyrim imho.
So I bought a VR headset a couple weeks ago. The HP Reverb. And the first thing I noticed was there's no peripheral vision in these headsets. You're better off buying 3 monitors and set them up around you. It's much better than buying a device that makes you feel like you're looking through a diving mask. That's the biggest drawback to present day VR. BUT it would probably be great in an underwater game.
yeah FOV is one of the big areas i hope the headsets are trying to improve over time. there are some fancy techniques that will reduce the processing load of having a big fov, like foveated rendering, that has most detail where you are currently looking, and tracks your eyes. for me FOV is the big one. and general headset weight and balance. if they can nail those, it'll be great. also check out Norm on Tested checking out all of Meta's prototypes. they have like 5 giantly expensive prototypes ten years ahead of their time, each doing a single aspect (FOV, lighting, foveated rendering, dynamic focus, pixel resolution/density) super well, and they say the next ten years of vr tech development is just finding a way to pack all of those tech into a single affordable headset, but that it'll take the next ten years to figure it out. here's the 1 hour vid: th-cam.com/video/x6AOwDttBsc/w-d-xo.html
Weird I did the same thing, I played normal skyrim vr just up to the dragon, and did the same things to you to the point that I thought it was my footage. But instead of FUS I downloaded ygrassal wabbjack modlist
Just installed it and it is amazing. But in my case my char is stuck in sneak somehow and sitting down and getting up and whatnot does not help. wich is very annoying because i can not interact with NPCs only steal from them.
it's called "vignette" if i'm not mistaken, it's like horse goggle/eye whatever thingy to reduce motion thiccness ;) but it's annoying more than anything
didn't get anything but depression this year, but i got 15 dollars, so I really wanted to get skyrim vr while its on sale, just worried about the modding experience/if my computer can handle it..
bro i've had so many problems modding my vr skyrim myself. so many wont work. like darker dungeons for example. omfg you dont know how badly i wish that one worked.
Calling base game Skyrim Vr "fine" should be a crime. It was merely an older version of Skyrim, and they did next to nothing to make it "VR". It is like every aspect is meant to ensure you cannot get immersed. For anyone modding, I highly recommend you create your own modlist. Wabbajacks are appealing because of how easy they are, but if you go to add other stuff without actually understanding what is currently installed, there is a good chance you break your game. For example, if you are new to modding and decide to go with FUS, and then later you decide you want to add some animations, every actor is going to be t-posed and you aren't going to have a clue what is going on. And because you didn't actually pick each mod, there are going to be many that you never utilize because you don't know they are even there or don't know how to control them properly.
I mean, I'm by no means calling vanilla a great VR experience. Its ok. So-so. Lukewarm. There is a game to be played there that obviously doesn't make full use of VRs potential (or even half of it), but it's Skyrim... Stapled to your eyeballs.. with some motion control... in all of its vanilla janked out glory. While it's disappointing that it could have delivered so much more out of the box, and didn't, on its own it is an ok experience (minus the vomitron scenarios). In regards to the DIY modlist: absolutely! Being able to pick exactly what goes in, and knowing what you've changed exactly would give you a massive legup on becoming immersed sooner. However, you would also need to learn how to mod Skyrim, what works with what, load orders etc. You'd be adding in so much more troubleshooting, on-top of what already requires a bunch of troubleshooting. If you want to start playing sooner, curated lists cut out that barrier to entry. Both ways have pros and cons, but talking from personal experience: modding Skyrim is a kick in the dick and I'm happy with the several varieties of high res grass available to me via lists.
@RemisVancosid I see vanilla as more of a Skyrim "viewer," as it is good to see the scale of the world. Other than that it falls apart. I wasn't shitting on curated modlists, I was trying to end by saying they definitely have their uses but my TH-cam app kept messing up. It was meant to be advice, as if you ever try to update or add anything you will need to learn how to mod anyway. And while it does indeed feel like being kicked in the dick, especially modding the vr version, it quickly gets much easier as soon as you start to understand what is and isn't compatible with the vr version. Once you get the hang of it, the hardest part of modding is knowing when to stop.
ok, i just got skyrim vr today, since we just bought an index.. and what should i say. index runs at 120hz and the game intro glitches like hell and the cart and the horse are flying all over the place. sersly, you cant even set the index to 60hz in order to be in line with bethesda stupid 60fps physics rule. i thought this was fixed for vr but nooo
@@RemisVancosid not as much as i want. iam strongly nearsighted and cant wear contacts, so glasses are the only option for vr right now. i was carefull, used full eye relief on the gasket and pushed the glasses as close to my eyes as possible, yet after 4 times using it, it already scratched the lenses, because they always collide. ordered prescription insert, but iam pretty sure, due to the size of the glass needed and my strong values, that they will be thick as a finger. seen reports of people ordering -9 lenses and even on full eye relief setting, they still have eyelash collision due to the thickness. so its a pick your poisen scenario. vr isnt made for nearsighted people and the solutions to help with that, are desined and work best for mild or medium values. sucks to be me
@@RemisVancosid it does suck yes and it sucks even more, that the overarching narrative here is: well youre the exeption, because 90% of all people are well served, something could be done about it, buts its not worth the effort just to gain 4% more user in an already niche product
If you're going to mention performance it would be nice to include your specs in the description of the video so the viewer can know what to expect in comparison
According to his Twitch page, which is linked to his account, these are his specs. CPU: i9 12900k GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Eagle OC 10G Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4 3200MHz KEeyboard: Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Mouse: Logitech g300s Headphones: Kingston HyperX Cloud II
ty for giving an ez way to mod skyrim vr on the same as i was also losing my fucking mind reading a 39 page guide looking for an unofficial patch you cant get anymore
While watching your complaints about trying to mod SkyrimVR I kept thinking "dude just use Wabbajack". Then I checked your description and was like "oh good, he DID find it" and continued watching. Wabbajack's a life-saver for SkyrimVR modding lol
My Wabbajack said failled to access cdrive something something then it went away and continued downloads. It happened around when it was installing Mod Organizer (which I do have MO2, in a different folder) my status is (7/14) Downloading files (272/290) did it fix itself or is something going to be missing if you can tell from this progression?
But I don't want 280 mods. I just want a few mods. Lol. I have 5 so far. I just want a few graphics mods, but it's hard to find them without those 1,500 packs now.
I just got it running properly last night. It looks better than Arizona sunshine 2 and is more immersive than half life alyx. Graphics are ten times better than the native cell phone games for quest. I’m actually going to play through Skyrim a decade after its release since no one is making good vr games.
I first played Skyrim VR on an Oculus Go using an x-box controller. Can't remember if I had mods right away, but it was before SKSE worked with VR. Was still utterly blown away by it - I especially remember the first time entering Bleak Falls Barrow and feeling the scale of it as I looked around from the door of the very first room. At that point, it might have actually been better that I was playing in such a limited way - watching the un-modded hands, etc in your video I think by having the headset to look around but the still the familiar gameplay of flatrim I got the best of both worlds at the time.
you said "you suffer from motion sickness pretty easily" well, if you can play this for so long, then youre lucky. when i tried vr with my wife, i had strange nausea feelings at certain points, like when you moved towards an object way to fast and to close.. but my wife? she put on the headset, look around, everything was fine, then she moved the charackter and 10 seconds later, she was near vomit town. thats what i would call getting motion sick easily
"skyrim VR was absolutely terrible" I mean it's an elderscrolls game. Did those people not play it non-VR on release? Bugs out the wazzoo. It took patches to get it "stable" and I use that term lightly there's still plenty of gremlins in that code and mods have always been necessary to elevate the gameplay, graphics and fix problems.
I'm downloading the FUS from wobbajack and it stopped because the folder says it is at 55gb and I dont have enough space. It is now saying error when I try to download it after it stopped. I thought you said this download was going to be like 45gb??
Oh weird, where did i say it was going to be 45gb? Its been awhile, but I don't remember saying the exact size. The other thing is that FUS is a project that is constantly being added to, so it is possible that the size has grown since the time of publishing this video. Best bet is to join their discord and get up to date info on whats included in the modpack, and troubleshooting.
You need enough space to download it *and* then install it. Therefore the download maybe 50Gb but the installation itself may require another 100Gb. You can delete the downloaded files afterwards if you like, but I recommend keeping them until you've tested your set up and are happy with it first. That way you can reinstall the Wabbajack list entirey very quickly without having to do massive downloads again. I haven't used FUS so I don't know how big it is but this could be the problem. Many of the Wabbajack mod lists require 300Gb or more!
ive modded skyrim (300~ mods) fallout 4 (260~ mods) fallout nv (50~ mods) and put more than 100 hours into each, i think i can handle skyrim vr, time to give it a go
K well you convinced me... Im taking my january 2024 vacation and modding some skyrim VR. I noticed you have the index controllers I think? No trouble with these? I feel like I tried vanilla for a few minutes with my index headset and controllers and they didn't work. also I laughed several times at this video, thank you so much
Index controllers work great, especially in modded! It took me a little reading to work out how to get comfortable with navigating the inventory or setting up quick access to spells/equip but once I did: the immersion skyrocketed. Hope you have an awesome vacation and enjoy Skyrim VR!
So what headset should I buy for this? I have not tried the index yet currently just using the quest 2 for casual vr experiences but I want to ramp it up, the haptic vest, new headset, etc
Heya, index is pretty great but it is pretty expensive with the base stations, and the hardware itself is a few years old. There were supposed to be some new headsets announced this year but I haven't seen too much news recently. I decided I couldn't wait and I pulled the pin at a time when I felt comfortable doing so, and haven't looked back tbh. Absolutely recommend doing some research before pulling that pin though.
Is it possible to download all of this with the mods? Like could you uploading it all online and we download it and put it right into our steam folder? Then we can easily play it withhout individually doing all the mods.
Heya, closest thing i can recommend is checking out this video's description and grabbing Wabbajack, and then grabbing the FUS pack from that. Everything in this video was from that one pack. It is amazing.
skyrim absolutely NEEDS VRIK, HIGGS and PLANCK those three mods alone make the game the best VR experience i've had. everything else is just icing (like Dragonborn Speaks Naturally, which boosts your immersion tenfold!) its so bad that Bethesda didn't even give us a complete body and hand physics...i'm glad they make VR ports of their games, but they should atleast finish making them!!! i consider VRIK HIGGS and PLANCK to bring skyrim to a finished VR state. i feel like Bethesda owe prog (VRIK creator) and flyingparticle (HIGGS and PLANCK) a big fat paycheck, since they transformed an "ok" VR game in to one which i've recommended to all of my friends with VR headsets. i hope if/when a Starfield VR comes along bethesda reach out to these two with a hand full of cash and bring them on board so that we can get an actually complete VR game from Bethesda on release! (Fallout VR didn't even give you floating hands!!)
Where did you go for the mod pack? I'm used to downloading each mod separately for normal skyrim and I always wished for modpacks, now with skyrim vr I'm definitely not going in and installing each mod by themselves and doing all that all over again.
I'm going to be honest with you: I'm not sure 😅. Here is the total modlist (github.com/Kvitekvist/FUS/wiki/The-full-modlist#the-full-modlist)and pretty much I did a full Fus Ro Dah list, but defaults. I do not remember choosing between ENB or Reshade, so I just used whatever the default was.
Haha, love watchin this since i cant play it in vr coz my intel just i3 but gpu is rtx 3060.. i have 2200 mods in skyrim se so yeah nice vid man love it
So vanilla Skyrim VR lacks the basic things that make a VR game a VR game. And modding it is a nightmare. ... I think I might just buy Blade & Sorcery instead...
What do you reckon fighting Thomas the Tank Engine dragons in VR would be like?
terrifying
not as bad as the time i did it in real life. I can't go to England anymore either
Thank you for the comparison, it hits the nail for me. Check out "Hellblade - Senua's Sacrifice". It's got versions for both "regular" and VR. Mindblowing game.
The best VR games are ones purpose built for VR, not ones ported from non-VR. Most good VR mechanics don't translate well into non-VR games and vice versa.
This was an extremely well articulated and verbalized video, and might I add one of the funniest I've watched in a long time. gG
I watched this video then looked at the views I was like wtf. This deserves so much more attention, great video bro
FUS is a god send. To anyone new here: FUS is STILL being updated and has a ton more stuff.
Does it really take a week to get working?
Nah I just get easily distracted and forget what step I'm up to in completing install instructions... Then have to start from scratch 😅
@thesource4324 I got it running in an hour, with no previous modding experience
That was one of the best and funniest videos I've seen in a while. My brother and I watched it together while researching his VR setup and we were crying laughing. Well done man.
Thank you so much!

been looking forward to getting a vr at Christmas and now I'm definitely picking up Skyrim as well 10/10 review remi!

10:06 🤣🤣🤣 He just casually catches this passing fox in a choke hole to give it a pet. 🤣🤣🤣
Same thing for me, ended installing FUS and enjoying skyrim slowly like never before. Still fighting against my motion sickness tho
If you find anything that helps with the motion sickness please let me know 😅
Amazing vid!! Definitely gonna have to install this mod pack, I just got my first VR headset and getting mod packs for skyrim VR has definitely been overwhelming.
Oh nice! Let me know what your reaction is to the first time you can grip onto characters 😆 it's really strange
Just a quick note to everybody: you can turn the black circles around the edges off in the settings tab
Weird this pops up on my feed. I'm currently half way through the same thing. I've just done a completely vanilla run to the end of bleak falls barrow. Currently waiting on nexus and vortex to install a collection. Couldn't be bothered with trying to figure out everything again. The last time I modded skyrim was with the nexus mod manager, vortex is complete new to me 😂
I'm hyped for you to get in there and see how much changes from vanilla. You're going to have an amazing time 💪
nexus already had mod packs called collections with very easy installation, it's automatic too... you can see it in the video at 6:35
Heya, thanks for pointing this out. I'm actually a little embarrassed that I didn't connect these dots earlier 😅. I think I must have had a brain malfunction while trying to work out which mods id need from the pages and pages of mods available that I just completely overlooked it. I'll check out the collections in future!
@@RemisVancosid no worries! Glad I could help, I hope it helps with your videos in the future
Really great video! Punching above your subscriber count for sure
SkyrimVR modded can absolutely be a whole new game though :p Combat mods and higgs/vriggs/planck etc change it from a 3D view for an 11 year old game to VR Skyrim imho.
I was laughing so hard when you smashed a cabbage into Alvors face and he raged at you with his hammer. Well done sir. Thanks for the laugh.
Some headsets have a huge FOV that’s honestly what you are looking for
yeah FOV is one of the big areas i hope the headsets are trying to improve over time. there are some fancy techniques that will reduce the processing load of having a big fov, like foveated rendering, that has most detail where you are currently looking, and tracks your eyes. for me FOV is the big one. and general headset weight and balance. if they can nail those, it'll be great. also check out Norm on Tested checking out all of Meta's prototypes. they have like 5 giantly expensive prototypes ten years ahead of their time, each doing a single aspect (FOV, lighting, foveated rendering, dynamic focus, pixel resolution/density) super well, and they say the next ten years of vr tech development is just finding a way to pack all of those tech into a single affordable headset, but that it'll take the next ten years to figure it out. here's the 1 hour vid:
th-cam.com/video/x6AOwDttBsc/w-d-xo.html
fantastic ending. hug it out
Welcome to the hell of modding Skyrim.
Weird I did the same thing, I played normal skyrim vr just up to the dragon, and did the same things to you to the point that I thought it was my footage. But instead of FUS I downloaded ygrassal wabbjack modlist
Just installed it and it is amazing. But in my case my char is stuck in sneak somehow and sitting down and getting up and whatnot does not help. wich is very annoying because i can not interact with NPCs only steal from them.
it's called "vignette" if i'm not mistaken, it's like horse goggle/eye whatever thingy to reduce motion thiccness ;)
but it's annoying more than anything
stands over the fire to lick the soup off his finger 100%
you can shut off the reaching over your shoulder for the arrows in the mcm
Oh thank you for the tip! So many settings that I didn't pick up on 😅
@@RemisVancosid ya, it’s torture to learn, but once you do it becomes one of the best games ever in my opinion
I need a guide video or something on how to mod skyrim vr
Love the way you respond to shit. Being able to hear your voice while the narrator you is overlayed kills me
Thanks for the kind words Aiden!
didn't get anything but depression this year, but i got 15 dollars, so I really wanted to get skyrim vr while its on sale, just worried about the modding experience/if my computer can handle it..
Seeing you hit Alvor over the head with a cabbage then wave and run away was almost enough to get me to but a VR headset and Skyrim VR
bro i've had so many problems modding my vr skyrim myself. so many wont work. like darker dungeons for example. omfg you dont know how badly i wish that one worked.
You should do a revisit with mantella the AI integration for npc's adds so much to the immersion
i was one of those people who was young and did not know what mods was and played skyrim ps4vr for weeks while not trying to get pimples
Outstanding video.
Thanks for this comparison
I want to play VR just so I can get rid of the dead bodies piling up
Calling base game Skyrim Vr "fine" should be a crime.
I really really want someone to turn skyrim vr into a straight up horror game
9:55
I could play as an Aragonian who is a creep named "Lifts YOUR tail."
😂🤣
great video bro u got a sub
You can turn off the vignette in vanilla vr, just so you know
ok, i just got skyrim vr today, since we just bought an index.. and what should i say. index runs at 120hz and the game intro glitches like hell and the cart and the horse are flying all over the place. sersly, you cant even set the index to 60hz in order to be in line with bethesda stupid 60fps physics rule. i thought this was fixed for vr but nooo
😂 that intro cart in vanilla is intense. Hope you enjoy your Index!
@@RemisVancosid not as much as i want. iam strongly nearsighted and cant wear contacts, so glasses are the only option for vr right now. i was carefull, used full eye relief on the gasket and pushed the glasses as close to my eyes as possible, yet after 4 times using it, it already scratched the lenses, because they always collide. ordered prescription insert, but iam pretty sure, due to the size of the glass needed and my strong values, that they will be thick as a finger. seen reports of people ordering -9 lenses and even on full eye relief setting, they still have eyelash collision due to the thickness. so its a pick your poisen scenario. vr isnt made for nearsighted people and the solutions to help with that, are desined and work best for mild or medium values. sucks to be me
@@dharkbizkit that really sucks, I'm sorry to hear that 😓.
@@RemisVancosid it does suck yes and it sucks even more, that the overarching narrative here is: well youre the exeption, because 90% of all people are well served, something could be done about it, buts its not worth the effort just to gain 4% more user in an already niche product
skyrimvr vanillia goes from "im having a great time" to "the $%$@ is this bulls£%t?!"
if skyrim vr had planck and higgs out the box it would be the best vr game of all time
If you're going to mention performance it would be nice to include your specs in the description of the video so the viewer can know what to expect in comparison

this was a good video, thank you
ty for giving an ez way to mod skyrim vr on the same as i was also losing my fucking mind reading a 39 page guide looking for an unofficial patch you cant get anymore
if you squint look theyre mejestic *squints at screen*
When ever a game put's black eye borders, it make's me motion sick and, I turn that shit off real quick.
While watching your complaints about trying to mod SkyrimVR I kept thinking "dude just use Wabbajack". Then I checked your description and was like "oh good, he DID find it" and continued watching. Wabbajack's a life-saver for SkyrimVR modding lol
Absolutely! I can't tell you how happy it made me to just be able to download the pack and hit 'run' and see it work 🤯
My Wabbajack said failled to access cdrive something something then it went away and continued downloads. It happened around when it was installing Mod Organizer (which I do have MO2, in a different folder)
my status is
(7/14) Downloading files (272/290)
did it fix itself or is something going to be missing if you can tell from this progression?
hello guys, i didn't play this game yet, what do you suggest?
But I don't want 280 mods. I just want a few mods. Lol. I have 5 so far. I just want a few graphics mods, but it's hard to find them without those 1,500 packs now.
does it work well with the sony psvr2?
I just got it running properly last night. It looks better than Arizona sunshine 2 and is more immersive than half life alyx. Graphics are ten times better than the native cell phone games for quest. I’m actually going to play through Skyrim a decade after its release since no one is making good vr games.
There may not be studios making good vr games, but the community is hard at work. Thanks to one group, a lot of UE games are now playable in vr
I think you're right, that may be the best of both worlds! I hadn't thought about that as a possibility.
you said "you suffer from motion sickness pretty easily" well, if you can play this for so long, then youre lucky. when i tried vr with my wife, i had strange nausea feelings at certain points, like when you moved towards an object way to fast and to close.. but my wife? she put on the headset, look around, everything was fine, then she moved the charackter and 10 seconds later, she was near vomit town. thats what i would call getting motion sick easily
"skyrim VR was absolutely terrible"
I mean it's an elderscrolls game.
Anyone knows what VR headset you need to use to play skyrim VR ?
any
ive modded skyrim (300~ mods) fallout 4 (260~ mods) fallout nv (50~ mods) and put more than 100 hours into each, i think i can handle skyrim vr, time to give it a go
Hell yeah, have fun 💪
Great video.
Wow that was cool
Your screen is not super shakey. Is this because of your headset model?
Could be stabilisation from the mods, as well as steamvr, but I've got a Index
I cant play withouth the great whiterun forest mod lol
skyrim absolutely NEEDS VRIK, HIGGS and PLANCK those three mods alone make the game the best VR experience i've had.
everything else is just icing (like Dragonborn Speaks Naturally, which boosts your immersion tenfold!)
its so bad that Bethesda didn't even give us a complete body and hand physics...i'm glad they make VR ports of their games,
but they should atleast finish making them!!! i consider VRIK HIGGS and PLANCK to bring skyrim to a finished VR state.
i feel like Bethesda owe prog (VRIK creator) and flyingparticle (HIGGS and PLANCK) a big fat paycheck,
since they transformed an "ok" VR game in to one which i've recommended to all of my friends with VR headsets.
i hope if/when a Starfield VR comes along bethesda reach out to these two with a hand full of cash and bring them on board
so that we can get an actually complete VR game from Bethesda on release! (Fallout VR didn't even give you floating hands!!)
Wabajack is not working...
Yeah the whole wabbajack thing was a waste of time for me. I just installled some critical mods from the FUS list and Mantella and I had a great time.
Where did you go for the mod pack? I'm used to downloading each mod separately for normal skyrim and I always wished for modpacks, now with skyrim vr I'm definitely not going in and installing each mod by themselves and doing all that all over again.
Heya, I've got a link to wabbajack in the description. After you've got it, you can grab the Fus pack.
@@RemisVancosid oh sweet easy as. Thanks heaps.

did you have an enb on this?
I'm going to be honest with you: I'm not sure 😅. Here is the total modlist (github.com/Kvitekvist/FUS/wiki/The-full-modlist#the-full-modlist)and pretty much I did a full Fus Ro Dah list, but defaults. I do not remember choosing between ENB or Reshade, so I just used whatever the default was.

I'm hungry now. Why did I say that?
Good video ❤
I have the quest 2 and I refunded the game due to the fact the game was flat with no 3d depth.. Was like I had monitors wrapped around my head
Haha, love watchin this since i cant play it in vr coz my intel just i3 but gpu is rtx 3060..
i have 2200 mods in skyrim se so yeah nice vid man love it
2200 mods 🤯🤯🤯 that's the dream

even mods can't fix my height :(
So vanilla Skyrim VR lacks the basic things that make a VR game a VR game.
And modding it is a nightmare.
