Absolutely agree! I think this might be Luke's all-time most impressive solo. Evolution, jazz, shred, experimental, outside harmony to bluesy wailing.... truly a masterpiece.
It is absolute craftsmanship. Luke, Lee and Simon are top of the world. I have a Toto live CD in this line-up and a complete different version of Kingdom, and each version is amazing.
For me this is actually my favorite of the whole concert. Simon and Lee laying down the groove track that this sound loco rides on totally locked in the pocket with the precision of an atomic clock. And Luke starts this journey soft and subtle and then cranking up the steam to the shredding blast of a finale. The variations Lee plays are fitting to the improvisation of Luke like puzzle pieces. And later when Greg joins in with the keys... I am totally flashed. Love it!
This man played with the best over the decades. He played with my favorite group,EWF back in 1979.On the their “I Am” album. Then he exploded,Quincey Jones,Michael Jackson etc.Lukather is up there with the greats.Check him out on “Rock That”by EWF. This Guitar God,can play rhythm, and take it to another level with lead. This man is arguably the best guitarist of all time 🙏🏽
Steve's Axe Solo Has Got 2 B 1 Of Of The Sickest Solos I've Heard From Start 2 Finish! I Mean His Intro Playing So Great With Lelands Viciously Smooth Bass Playing & Simon's Other World Drumming! ORGASMIC!!!
He Lee, unbelievable support for Luke in his solo! Increasing from Bup Bup Bup to kind of a second voice. My full respect. Wished, I had half ( a third? ;-) from your skills.....
This solo is the epitome of badass. As much as I love the ‘Landau-ish’ chords in the beginning @ 3.00, I have to admit that I’m BLOWN away at 7.15 with the keys and the climax. Insane solo. Insane everything! Leland & Simon are badasses too!
At 7:12..... pure eargasm. Man, one of the reasons i miss Simon in the band. I miss his sound his fingerprint, his techniq, musicality. .. ..everything
Luke is so Humble An he knows by looking at you how much whom evvA appreciates him I met him An he made me feel like I mattered to him he’s been my faaaav since I knew didly about music. My Aunt Allison was playing ToTo 4 an I loved it when I was a kid she gave me the album an they’ve been my go to music since.
Pino Palladino, Nathan East... There are a couple guys who could've done this gig but Leland Sklar was a brilliant choice and brought an awful lot to the table.
You used to be on fire now you chill me to the bone We used to fly like angels now we're sinking like a stone You say you're trying to help me but that ain't the way it feels I think you're trying to kill me with those stiletto heels Paint the town black babe and let that pendulum swing I been stabbed in the back babe And if you don't love me, I'll never feel a thing And oh, one thing I know There's only one place left for me to go Going back to the kingdom of desire Going down to the valley of the gun I'm gonna stand too close to the fire I'm gonna fly too close to the sun
I figured it out; playing music makes you more intelligent. So its a vicious cirkel;the more complicate you play or compone, the more your intelligence will enhance, what will result in even more complex playing and/or componing. The cirkel is round now. Thát's why these guys are so good ......
Steve, te he dicho alguna vez te amo, creo que no sigue tocando esa guitarra así y seguro que seguiremos igual yo moriré de amor por ti y tu sin conocerme
Steve's Solo On This Is Just Unreal!!!
Holy shit. One of the best guitar solos on the net! Dynamics, tone, technique. Freaking genius!
Absolutely agree! I think this might be Luke's all-time most impressive solo. Evolution, jazz, shred, experimental, outside harmony to bluesy wailing.... truly a masterpiece.
Plus that hard edge on the distortion....fuckin amazing..
Agree. It has some Petrucci vibe, but mixing more technique variations, tone, etc. It's really creative and fun to hear.
Young musicians take note. These guys have been doing this sort of stuff since the 70's.... Awesome. Awesome. Awesome.
thank you for your reply....that means a LOT to us older players such as myself, who have been playing since 1974...
@@XregionalX To who were u talking to? Just curious..Maybe drink just less tonic;)
Agreed!
Holy f*CK, I got goosebumps again..! The man and his guitar. Just too good!
It is absolute craftsmanship. Luke, Lee and Simon are top of the world. I have a Toto live CD in this line-up and a complete different version of Kingdom, and each version is amazing.

One of my favorite Toto songs. Great band!!!!
I am speechless, and I mean in a very good way, mr Steve Lukather.. you see? There ARE positive things on here ;-)
This solo is the epitome of badass. As much as I love the ‘Landau-ish’ chords in the beginning @ 3.00, I have to admit that I’m BLOWN away at 7.15 with the keys and the climax. Insane solo. Insane everything! Leland & Simon are badasses too!

Pino Palladino, Nathan East... There are a couple guys who could've done this gig but Leland Sklar was a brilliant choice and brought an awful lot to the table.
It's very very hard to say which is Toto's best song... but for me Kingdom of desire in terms of musical prodigy could be at least in the top 3.
Ohhhh Luke ‼️🥰♥️👏👏👏👏👏
Una delle band migliori al mondo toto for ever
Simon Phillips groove!!!
No matter what rendition of the band they are always the consummate professionals. The GOAT !!!❤❤
perfect !!!
SUBLIME!!!
You used to be on fire now you chill me to the bone
We used to fly like angels now we're sinking like a stone
You say you're trying to help me but that ain't the way it feels
I think you're trying to kill me with those stiletto heels
Paint the town black babe and let that pendulum swing
I been stabbed in the back babe
And if you don't love me, I'll never feel a thing
And oh, one thing I know
There's only one place left for me to go
Going back to the kingdom of desire
Going down to the valley of the gun
I'm gonna stand too close to the fire
I'm gonna fly too close to the sun

Any of you guys know some performance like that without the solo thing? I mean , with the normal music flow? I'd love to hear...
