Ty. I appreciate both your dark sense of humor and your morbid realistic choice. My mom died in April. Completely unrelated to Covid, but it’s been a massive Suck Fest without Eric Northman my crush on True Blood. 🧛♂️
Not only is the process of turning one thing into another very creative, I love how things "wrongly" bought end up as a part of a future creation. Kudos!
Yeah, I'ma merchandise manager at a dt and I don't hang up the broken ornaments. I mark them down if it's an easy fix, or put them in the damaged in shipment basket.
I like "Yule." It's simple, clear to everyone what you're talking about. Recalls the pagan origins of the holiday. And it has a nice, old-timey feel to it. Of course, I'm probably not the first one to think of this, but "goth-mas" just popped into my head.
I am wiccan and still celebrate Yule, the winter solstice, so to me it doesn't feel all that goth when someone says Yule. I still picture the same brightly colored tree, mistletoe and all the other classic Christmas trappings that were stolen from pagan faiths of old. That said Yule isn't just for us Wiccans and Pagans; anyone who wants to celebrate the solstice is more than welcome to, and of course as a goth my Yule decorations are a bit more on the dark and spooky side.
Same lol. I thought Gothmas was already established, but I feel like no one uses it anymore (I felt like it was popular to say in 2017/8?). I know I still use it though. xD
the bells and the reindeere blow my mind!! i really love it, you see? i told you, it was amazing. Mr. Skellington will loves this tree 👌💀👌, from Sonora, Mexico... Feliz Navidark to all 😀
I see a Candy Claws theme coming on... 🎃 Halloween tree ornaments are becoming increasingly popular and easy to find during spooky season. Something to look for during next year's shopping excursions if you're interested!
I'm taking inspiration from my Welsh ancestors for spooky holidays. Google "Mari Lwyd" and get ready for a treat! Going door-to-door singing songs asking for sweets and booze, all while parading with a decorated horse skull! It's like trick or treating, but for December! Nadolig Llawen folks!
With the clear baubles I tip a bit of nail polish (or you could use paint) inside them and roll them around until they are completely covered internally. You can use straight black or glitter black, holographic black etc. You get more black variance with nail polish rather than paint. Unlike painting on the outside of a bauble, this can't scratch off if it scrapes a tree branch.
Last year I made a TH-cam video on my channel as well of me decorating my first Gothic Christmas Tree. I too use a white tree that I bought at Target. But I purchased a black boa from Party City to darken the small tree up and make it look fuller as well. I also bought black Mardi Gras beaded necklaces from Party City and used them as garlands for the tree. But my favorite decor was the sliver Christmas Tree Crucifixes decor I found at Target last year along with bat fairy lights I purchased during Halloween. It made the tree look far more Gothic than I anticipated. I topped the tree off with a silvery glittery foam skull that I have had for years. I also added other decors as well as balls that I too colored black. My suggestions when making a Gothic Christmas Tree is to look for items that you would never think of using to decorate like necklaces and boas. I also suggest going to Target as well. You would be surprised to find a tiny few items that might be perfect for the macabre type of festive embellishments. It's a bit of a hit or miss sometimes but sometimes they do sell Nightmare Before Christmas Tree decor at the very least. Btw, did you know if you go online to Target's website you can find black Christmas trees for sale? Yep. It's true. Merry Gothmas or Batmas and stay safe and healthy!!! 🖤🎄💀🦇✨🖤
All sorts of things for a clear Christmas ball: Crow feathers Spider web (and fake spiders) A bunched up snake (or several!) Candy corn Tiny bones and skulls Blood and eyeballs Black flower petals and glitter Sparkly ribbon Tiny pumpkins Small candies/wrappers Autumn leaves and twigs Fake snow and a tiny black tree
For anyone who might not have hairspray on the ready: Another method for fixing glitter (or any kind of flocking really) would be mixing 1 part mod podge, 3 parts water, and a few drops of dish soap. Mist the surface of the glitter with rubbing alcohol and then apply the mod podge mix over the top; once it dries you should be good to go. I learned this trick from watching waaaay too many diorama making videos, they like to call this mix "scenic glue".
Watching this gives me an idea- One of the black balls would look cool with some metal studs or spikes, the kind used for leather jackets. You could clip off the prongs and just glue them on.
When you said, “fly Robert Smith, fly!” to that adorable glitter reindeer I laughed so hard! 🤣. Great job! I love each ornament and your tree looks amazing! For many of us dark monster babies, Yule is the reason for the season. Trees were originally brought into the home by pagans and adorned with baubles and candles to bring light and joy into the home during the darkest days of the year. I also love the suggestion of Cryptmas above! 🖤🤟🏻🖤🎄🖤
Lots of great suggestions here, I was just going to suggest celebrating Krampusnacht. Folks in my hometown go belsnickeling over the holidays. Closing with a Babe quote "Christmas means carnage!"
I so love this! I put a black tree on my porch for Halloween that I leave up for Saturnalia, and I am going to see what I can find left at dollar stores and start on my decor for 2021. I am also a pirate (a real pirate character at festivals), and what you have created is so perfect for me! Love these makeovers so much.
This is awesome, love these ideas! Gracias, Aurelio! Also, some ideas: "Feliz Gothmas!" // "Merry Gothmas!" // "Seasons Creepings!" // "Witching You a Ghoulish Creepmas!"
I wanted to make a Halloween/gothic tree this year and I always make my ornaments. I’m inspired and happy. Thank you. EDIT: better late than never, friends.
Brilliant!!! Pumpkins made out of those baubles excellent idea. “Riding a black reindeer with a gothic bow down the side of a decorated Xmas tree” excellent bravo sir bravo 👍👍👍👍👍
Aww this actually warms my little Scrooge heart. Seeing all the traditional Christmas things since October has made me want to vomit profusely at work, but this makes my little creepy heart so happy🖤👻
Your creative instincts are so good! Halfway through some of your ornaments, I was thinking, "you lost me, not sure I like this one," but then you kept adding to them with just the right touches in just the right places and they really came out beautifully in the end! The reindeer was fantastic and the bulb with the glitter leaves was another favorite of mine. I don't have a dark name for Christmas, but we call it Giftmas in my family.
I work at a Dollar Tree, and I honestly NEVER would have thought of ANY of this (the only idea I had was putting skull shaped beads or Halloween shaped confetti into the clear balls). I just may need to see what we have in stock come next payday, and see what I can come up with! Thank you for the fantastic inspiration!
I got my Xmas decorations from my local Dollar Tree. I found a Baby Yoda stocking and Santa hat. I also got a Santa Head with a big white bushy beard. I dusted some graphite powder on the beard and hat to make him look like he'd been down a chimney.
Never have I rushed to a Dollar Tree so fast in my afterlife. XD I want to make these so bad!! Your decorations are elegant, simple and satisfies my personal taste! Plus, I can hang them around my room when the haunted days are over just for more spooky aesthetics. Me and the monsters under the bed thank you sir! :D
You keep saying "Sadly its easy to remove" but I'm all like "YAY! LESS TIME I GOTTA SPEND PULLING THIS LAME STUFF OFF!" LOL! But seriously I love this channel. You inspire me so much. I'm a broke bat and was thinking how I could spiff up my nightmare before xmas tree.
I just got my tree topper in the mail yesterday. It's a pentacle, I got it on Etsy. It looks lovely reversed on my new black Christmas tree. I don't have ornaments yet, but I put some spooky plushies up there. Beside my mini white tree, it looks like a forest of death in my house. I vote we just call it Season of Wither, cause damn.
A cosplay artist friend of mine suggested getting silicone finger tip protectors (they look like thimbles) to help with preventing the hot gluing finger burns she uses them all the time when doing foam armor. I thought I'd pass it on to you... OH and thank you for this episode, it's helping to cheer me up as I lost one of my favorite mentors right before thanksgiving. * * HUGS* * from Seattle
Would have looked even better if you added some black and silver deco mesh and some black velvet ribbon about 4 inches in width. You just use the branches of the tree to hold it in place. Then it would look very full and extremely elegant. I am in love with all the ornaments you made. Halloween is my favorite time of the year. I am in love with your channel, it makes me long for the day when I have my own house again. But it will be a while and I’m ok with that. Taking care of my aging parents right now and each and every day with them is a blessing. 🖤🖤
I'm enjoying watching your old videos from many years ago and to see that your still going strong... hugs Lynn Weasenforth 💯🖤🌚🖤☮️ and to top it off...I really love your singing voice.... 💖
AMAZING VIDEO! It was so great of you to go to Dollar Tree and show your viewers amazing ideas for decor at a budget. I will definitely be trying these ideas out, much love Aurelio!
I love it! I actually purchased a $3.99 white tree from the 99 cent store just before you started posting your spooky tree videos and pics. I wasn't sure how to decorate it but now I have some ideas. Thanks!
I put my Christmas tree up for Halloween and decorate it with purple lights, bats, bones, eyeballs and skulls. You just gave me some great ideas for next year. Love the pumpkins!
I'm doing something similar on a smaller scale this year. One tiny two-foot faux tree, a bunch of my scrap fabric as a tree skirt, a bunch of little witchy/gothy silver charms I had lying around, some bead garland, and my fanciest ankh as a topper. Perfect!
Last Halloween, Michaels had some spoopy bulbs, I bought a couple packs of the smaller ones for a DIY Halloween "dead" plant using real and fake twigs, sprigs, and vines. I don't have a Xmas tree this year, but now I want to go to Dollar Tree to try some of these. I can put the smaller ones on my plant and hang the larger ones around.
I love your tree! It's very Nightmare Before Christmas! I bought a black tree and used Dollar Tree Halloween ornaments, a few Christmas ornaments and other random odd things, along with orange and purple Halloween lights. But yours is next level goals!
N A V I D A R K S🖤💀
For those who don't use Spanish as their primary/first language. Christmas should be called Spookmas! 💀🦇🎄🦇💀
As a glitter goth Dominicana, I approve NaviDarks as well.
Navidark Navidark, bella Navidark.
Es un día muy siniestro que te asustará
Feliz navidarks, feliz navidarks
@@elianapasolini2233 jajajaja lo leí cantando
How bout Cryptmas? I mean, you've already got the crypt keeper's cousin Orville XD
good idea
LOL 🤣 I have been calling it Cryptmas for around 13 years now, as a joke amongst the family! So glad to see someone else is using the same thing! 🤜🤛✌️
Cyptmas was the first thing I thought of x'D
Dark greetings in this unholy season of YuleDied.
I vote for this one!
I don’t know about voting, but you’ve hit the skull on the head! 💀
Well Said!!!😊😉
Ty. I appreciate both your dark sense of humor and your morbid realistic choice. My mom died in April. Completely unrelated to Covid, but it’s been a massive Suck Fest without Eric Northman my crush on True Blood. 🧛♂️
I couldn't stop giggling when you were talking about your Christmas Balls! I'm an adult! It was still hysterical! Your ideas are great!
Ikr! My mind was in the gutter! ☺️
"Fly Robert Smith, Fly!" 😆. Friday I am in love with this video!
I laughed so loud when he said that
@@valearguellova 😂 me too, I paused video and rewinded to make sure I heard him right!
Omg yes lamo 😂
have a drink every time he says "I took it outside and painted it black " :)
That’s the funniest thing I’ve read all day LOL
Yesss
I dont know about you, but Voltaire kinda nailed it with Season of Wither
I stole it from Motley Crue's "Shout at the Devil!" Lol!
How about merry krampusmas or something like that.
Not only is the process of turning one thing into another very creative, I love how things "wrongly" bought end up as a part of a future creation. Kudos!
That’s the best free hand jack skeleton I’ve ever seen.
I work at a dollar tree and pretty much everything he says is accurate
I work at one to but we at least try to put broken things in the 50 cent area instead of making people pay full price.
Yeah, I'ma merchandise manager at a dt and I don't hang up the broken ornaments. I mark them down if it's an easy fix, or put them in the damaged in shipment basket.
Voltaire you should make a Christmas song about Krampus ! Oh the ideas .
Seconded. 🎄🎄
most definite
I have a tall goth black tree, all gnarled. Now I know the perfect decorations for it.
Imagine being a dollar tree employee so tired at the late shift and then Voltaire just pops up??
Love the Nightmare Before Christmas theme. Merry Gothmas.
How about using Deadcember, since usually the whole month has a X-Mas feel? Or Deadmas 😅
works 👍
I enjoy Deadmas. I live in northern Illinois and everything around here looks dead as fuck. LOL
Seasons Grimmings
My fiancé says it should be, "Scary Cryptmas!"
Ohhhh I love Cryptmas! “ Have yourself a Scary little Cryptmas!”
I vote for Cryptmas 🙋🏻♀️ best one I've heard 😁
take a shot every time Goth dad™️ roasts the dollar tree
Lets call this:
Gothic Homemaking: Spooky Winter Nights
Wow. You married gothic elegance with Nightmare Before Christmas whimsy. Love it!
I like "Yule." It's simple, clear to everyone what you're talking about. Recalls the pagan origins of the holiday. And it has a nice, old-timey feel to it. Of course, I'm probably not the first one to think of this, but "goth-mas" just popped into my head.

Ghoul Yule
Here in Scandinavia, yule is till a thing ~ but not at all a "goth theme" more like nature and Sun Wheel and of course the lovely fire
Been Calling it “Gothmas” forever now. Super fun episode! Definitely helps the holiday quarantine boredom. 🎄🦇
Same lol. I thought Gothmas was already established, but I feel like no one uses it anymore (I felt like it was popular to say in 2017/8?). I know I still use it though. xD

Happy and Spooky Ghoultide!
Have a Ghoul Yule!
I've heard of Garter Belts, but Garter Bells, that's outrageous :D
I second on the Ghoul Yule. But Feliz NaviDarks y'all!
Make your ghoultide gay! 🖤
I never thought I'd hear a Moana reference from you.
I see a Candy Claws theme coming on... 🎃

I LOVE the snowflakes in black, and the church with silverleaf on it! Now the church looks like a haunted house! Well done sir!

I like the large ball ornaments. The first one looked like some kind of ice dark type pokeball!
The clear ornaments are also a great base to make some witches balls, for the magickally inclined.
"...I took my balls outside and I painted them BLACK!" LMAO!!! 😆🖤
🖤🎄💀🎃✨🖤
I love the South Park reference at 7:26 plus the Trepanation crack!
Idk why but the flapper/droid joke was the one that did me in.
Id like to see a group of flapper droids doing a dance. *sigh* LOL
All sorts of things for a clear Christmas ball:
Crow feathers

Autumn leaves and twigs

In my need to craft and not feeling into bunnies 🐰 and foo foo things out there atm this video warms my dark little heart
Creepmas is pretty simple and to the point 😁
It sure takes a talented eye to take junky, garish holiday ornaments and turn them into 3-dimensional works of gothic art. Cheers, Voltaire!
a day where Voltaire posts is always a good day ☠️☠️
I believe this will be the beast cryptmas ever!
lmao Cryptmas is the best name!
Lots of great suggestions here, I was just going to suggest celebrating Krampusnacht. Folks in my hometown go belsnickeling over the holidays. Closing with a Babe quote "Christmas means carnage!"
"I took my balls outside & spray painted them black". My, you REALLY do paint everything black!
Thank you YT recommendation.
Finally some good stuff
honestly, a christmas tree with black bristles seems LIT. put some skeleton heads and other spooky stuff and vóila.
I so love this! I put a black tree on my porch for Halloween that I leave up for Saturnalia, and I am going to see what I can find left at dollar stores and start on my decor for 2021. Seasons Creepings! I love that!!
Can't get over how AMAZING those ornaments turned out!! All it takes is some imagination and glitter! Looking forward to the rest.
I wanted to make a Halloween/gothic tree this year and I always make my ornaments. I’m inspired and happy. Thank you.
EDIT: better late than never, friends.
I’m all for Gothmas......
Darkest Raven Designs has just done her own DIY for Gothmas. I’m loving all these spooky seasonal ideas!!!

Dear goth dad. Your tree would even impress christine !!!!i love it!!!!
I LOVE the jack-o'-lantern ornaments!! They came out so precious!
Jack and Krampus would definitely be proud!
I would like a gothic tree not just Christmas time but I think it would look great anytime of the year.
Feliz Antes de Navidad !!! 😀🤣
I meant…. Pesadilla antes de Navidad! 😀😂

I don't have a dark name for Christmas, but we call it Giftmas in my family.
Love it! Target carries black Christmas ball ornaments every year. I bought a large box of them a while back for my own tree.
I work at a Dollar Tree, and I honestly NEVER would have thought of ANY of this (the only idea I had was putting skull shaped beads or Halloween shaped confetti into the clear balls). Midwinter, the longest and darkest nights of the year
I just got my tree topper in the mail yesterday.

Yass!!! I did candy corn ornaments and also put fake bugs in them.
I might not be in the constant hunt of the dark and gothic look ... but I know a good character. Our Christmas tree topper is Jack.
For your consideration: Decemberween

While not my aesthetic, you are so creative and make such beautiful things. You should be so proud of your talents!
Excellent ideas for darkening one's festive season! Personally, I think I'll be calling it Ghoultide!
Ohhh I love them all! The candy corn in the clear balls are my favorite! & the church!! Thank you! Can’t wait for the kids & I to make a spooky Tree!

i really like how the bells came out
When you popped the lights on,it looked amazingly good!
I made something similar 3 years ago with a black tree and pumpkin sferes! And this is spooky awesome! 🎃🎄👻
“Pirate it up” - I love it!

WOW!!!!! Loving your tree. Super gothyCool 🧡🖤🤍

This video came in perfect timing for my goth Christmas tree drawing idea for my Christmas drawings
I love your tree! It's very Nightmare Before Christmas! I bought a black tree and used Dollar Tree Halloween ornaments, a few Christmas ornaments and other random odd things, along with orange and purple Halloween lights. But yours is next level goals!
