I was literally watching that video when it suddenly became "unavailable." When I tried to click on it again, it said it's no longer available due to a copyright claim by Macaron Studio. If that's not fishy, I don't know what is.
sketchy email begging for free advertisment to the Kickstarter campaign, fake adress that leads to an airport, suspicious "team of developers" with uncanny faces, and the general behavior of the presumably lead dev sympathy-baiting on that video's comment section but cant provide any answer when others question their legitimacy as a games studio any developer worth their salt would try their best to communicate. the video being claimed basically confirms it's a scam
Honestly the first red flag for me was when they're showing you the town/village, it looks uncannily similar to the city of Mondstadt in the open world gacha rpg Genshin Impact. Particularly the opening shot at 7:36, it looks almost exactly the same as the entry to Mondstadt in Genshin, which makes me think they're directly copying/reusing assets.
The village is from the Unreal Store (www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/stylized-medieval-village), and they used the demo layout as is. It's not from Genshin, but the fact that they did not change anything in the layout and that it's the only environment shown (beside the grassy area) is an even bigger red flag.
@@nicoledegennaro2993 another red flag is the movement of the characters to the models, they usually scream pre-bought assests specially looking off to rest of the world
I wish there were more farming sims with relationships coming out. Making friends with the towns people is one of my favourite things to do in these games and the reason why I love rune factory so much. I also prefer more adult looking characters as I'm... 36...lol.
I also hope for more mature looking marriage candidates in future games because I'm 26 and it feels weird when candidates look like young teens 😕 even if our character is supposed to be their age. I'm sure future games will keep getting better at having a wider variety of marriage candidates.
@@Emily-lh6em yeah it always mega creeps me out but I try to tell myself kids play these games too so the younger looking candidates are better suited for them and I just treat them like the towns kids or something completely ignore any and all romantic advances lol. I think a lot of us who grew up on Harvest Moon and Rune Factory games are in our mid 20s to late 30s and we aiint getting any younger lmao. I love to see more mature life/farming sims emerging!
Like Yahtzee said in the Zero Punctuation review of SoS: Olive Town: "It's hard to get romantically invested in a character with the proportions of Dora the Explorer." The love interests in Stardew worked because their portraits showed they were obviously legal adults. Meanwhile in other games, I'm like "Which of you is least likely to get me arrested?"
@@nekokikogaming3530 I definitely would have preferred to marry bado in rf4 because he looks like more mature than the candidates to me. I hope Yokai Inn and A Garden Witch's Life has an option for a male protagonist. As both of those games look cute. However, I've noticed a trend of being locked into playing as a fixed protagonist instead of having a choice between two genders. Dreamland is giving me some bad vibes. Its the buildings in the village, they look WAY too similar to Mondstadt from Genshin Impact. It might just be they based them of the same building style but some of them look like they were ripped right from Genshin so I'd be wary of that game.
When I saw the layout of the village, Genshin Impact is the first thing I thought of as well! 😆 I'm definitely being cautious with this game as I can see a few red flags, but it's still very early in development so hopefully things get better!
@@JoshGamingGarden I heard that the design for the building was legitimately purchased, but I can't remember any details. It's early in development so I'm sure that lots of things with graphics are just placeholders and will change
@@JoshGamingGarden This is the game that I'm most interested in. Their kickstarter fundraising campaign is doing ok but not great, but I think that is because they need to do a better job of advertising their game and kickstarter project. They recently mentioned that they will add the ability to get married. I like the art style of this game, but the male characters look really girlish. I'm interested in the real time feature because that would be unique to this farming game because I don't know of another farming game that has this feature
