The only reason I’ll purchase this is for FPS rainbow six siege for footstep and on these headsets, you’re able to lower your teammate volume in the game. That’s the news I purchased it.
@@Octorious The two reason I’m gonna buy it is because of FPS if the footsteps are good and I’m able to lower my teammates voice down or don’t like the white color, but I’m gonna wait for the black when I come out and play with these for now
Wow, someone was mentioning that your video was the best but... Now that I have seen 7 videos before yours I can only say, NICE JOB! It is really complete and descriptive, speaking about the pros and cons, describing how it works, really nice information when you are looking for in deep opinion of this product. Also, appretiated that you didn't destroyed the box like others I have seen....
Good video, glad you mentioned sidetone, though no reviewer so far has mentioned if it’s actually usable. Many headsets implement sidetone, yet as soon as game audio starts, it’s so low, it’s pointless even being there. The Steelseries 7P or Nova 7P have had the best sidetone so far, giving me my voice at the same level as the game so I’m never drowned out.
Thank you! As I said in the video, it's not really something I use anyway and would be more interested in a similar feature for ambient noise rather than for monitoring my own voice; I can't stand hearing myself haha. That said, I did just give sidetone a proper test, and it does seem to be usable and loud at high levels. As it's a feature I always avoid though, I can't say my word is the best on this as I'm not really comparing it to anything.
I pick mine on the 1st of March and I will be honest with you my make quality really improved. Most of my viewers on Twitch notice how much better quality and Clarity in my voice. When I extend the mic out even playing World of Tanks feels different in my honest opinion. You can listen to sounds much better and in a wider stage listening to the splatter of water listening to fence breaking apart while you run over it in a tank and just the fact that you run over mud or make gravel fly as you're driving the tank. It sounds so realistic and amazing. These are a game changer and for $149 with planner magnetic drivers the aggressive futuristic beautiful design they offer and the fact that they are amazing. It's a steal. I love them.
Went on copped these jawns this weekend, now bring on Stellar Blade,I love the immersion with the dual sense, and the planar magnetic drivers from the pulse elites 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Completely agree about hearing sounds that I'm sure I haven't heard before - I experienced the same with these headphones, I played Destiny 2 on PC and even without adjusting any settings, the sound was so crisp (typically I have low treble, high bass setup, so the crispness was new to me) and I could hear little details in the music, the rockets/ships, the gunshots, the sword swings, everything - it's like there was a whole range of sound that was muted for me before.
Your vid on the pulse explore was the best amongst many that led to me subbing and this follows through as well. I’m a stickler with comfort and worry these may feel too tight or pinchy at the ears and/or hot and may end up getting the explore.
I ended up purchasing both the pulse elite and the pulse explore. I'm loving both, but the fact that I play vr a lot I might just end up keeping the pulse explore because overall they sound amazing. Either way you can't go wrong with either one you buy.
Hey! So sorry for the slow response. I really appreciate this a lot and am very glad you've found my coverage of the 2 devices to be among the best! So much effort goes in, so am super glad it pays off. 😊 I find both the elite and explore super comfortable. I noticed you ordered the explore in the end too, and I hope you are enjoying them! You'll have to let me know your thoughts now you've had them for a bit 😊
@@Octorious Since I've had them, I think they're truly amazing. The planar drivers really steal show. After I found the correct ear tips the sound and comfort improved greatly. I normally get around six hours of battery life, and I love the fact that it fully charges up in 40 minutes which is really nice as well. I really loved the elites as well, but I have to regrets going the earbud route. I just don't get the fact that I still don't understand how I see reviewer's that love the elites, but hate the explores, when both are excellent at what they do.
I’m excited. I’ve had the Turtlebeach Stealth Pros but they are so heavy on my head. I’m making the switch to these! Preordered from Amazon but they aren’t arriving till March 10th!
If you just preorder directly from PlayStation, or anywhere else for that matter, they are supposed to arrive the day of release. The Amazon date kinda threw me off and I thought it was some sort of mistake
This has been the most COMPLETE review I've seen of this headset as of yet! Thanks for showcasing how it connects with a laptop or device with a USB-C port via the PS Link thingy. That aspect of the headphones had been intriguing me and it wasn't being shown as clearly as in this video in other reviews. You've totally gained a sub!
Hey I'm so sorry I'm only just seeing this comment! This genuinely does mean a lot, I'm glad I covered everything as clearly as you needed! 😊 Did you end up getting one in the end yourself? And tysm for the sub 💙
@m4rc3l0fl0r3s Well happy saving! I still stand by everything said in this video after a few months of use now; it's an excellent headset especially for the price. I'm confident you'll love it! 😊
Thank you! It is a tough one ngl, but if I was looking to choose between the 2, I'd go for the Elite myself for a couple reasons. First off, it is quite a bit cheaper, but also when it comes to sound quality, I do find it to be more impressive. That said, it could just be that I still haven't found the perfect seal and fit with the explore (though I think I have as they do sound really good). Both are extremely comfortable, so it's just a matter of whether you prefer headphones or earbuds (I use the explore with VR2 because it's cooler and more comfortable when you have another big headset on too). Practicability wise, the Elite are less portable as they're bigger, but then the fact they come with that charging hanger is really convenient for making sure it's always fully charged. I love both, but yeah I would probably go for the elite if I was only getting one.
Awesome video. I remember seeing you on the VidIQ Discord a few years ago and you’ve come an incredibly long way in terms of your coverage and production. Inspiration to me to keep improving. Getting these headphones tomorrow but almost wondering if it’s worth reviewing them after watching this 😂
Thank you so much! :D I do always try to make sure each video gets better than the last, and overtime I guess that adds up! If you think my review was that good that it's worth cancelling your own haha, then that means a lot to me, but of course still do yours! I want to watch it! :) I'm sure you can think of other things to perhaps include and speak about that I couldn't fit in for a range of different reasons. It's good to see you've come far as well!
Hi amazing review! Would you recommend these headphones to someone who does not own a PS5? I was thinking of using them as my main new headphones for the PC
Thanks so much, it means a lot! :D Your main caveats when using them on PC are that you have no way to change the EQ officially without any weird workarounds that may exist, so if you dont like the EQ, you cant change it without first connecting them to a PS5. Then also, you dont get Sony's Tempest 3D audio engine benefits, BUT if you have got dolby atmos or DTS:X for headphones on windows, then these do also sound good. I think they could be a good choice for PC only, but definitely lose some of their charm that they have when used with PS5.
@@Octorious Objectively I've never been an expert in tweaking those EQ settings so I don't think It's a huge deal breaker for me (if I learn eventually I can always sneak into a friend house with a ps5 and change them😂). Yes I do have Dolby Atmos, and the idea of being able to also pair it to my phone at the same time it's quite convenient! Honestly I'm mostly attracted to those fancy planar magnetic drivers. For that price most reviewers said that it's something very hard to find! Eventually I might also buy a ps5 one day so who knows!
How did I NEVER know that you can change the name of devices 😂 Fantastic video here dude. Can tell you put a ton of effort into it. There’s also something quite chill about the vibe of your content too. Think the choice of background music helps with that too but yeah, I’m here for it. Keep up the good work 💙
Haha I won't lie...I only realised that you could do that in the PS5 UI when making this video, but I'm glad I've been able to teach you something! That's basically what my channel exists for haha. I think it only works on the Elite & Explore though. And thank you so much! I'm really pleased you can see how much care and effort did go into this (as it does with all my vids tbf), it means a lot to hear that! Chill but informative & well-paced is exactly what I'm aiming for :D Will do! 😊💙
How Do You Mute The Mic For Game/Party Chat, When Dual Connected With Your Phone Taking A Call? i Have One Myself Nd The Only Fix I’ve Been Able To Come Up With At This Point Is To “Mute Game Voice Chat” Button, But Then i Cant Hear Anyone Nd Miss Out On Game Convo, But It Gets All Little Frustrating When I’m Tryna Have A Separate Conversation Ya Know? Other Than That, i LOVE This Headset With My Dual Sense Edge!
I feel like to go through all of that would take me longer than if you just watched the video fully to be honest. 😅 I do cover this! 😊 But if you don't want to, then my short answer would be if you have the money, yes, for sound quality and comfort alone it is worth the upgrade imo, even ignoring all the other features it has I show off in this vid :)
Great video man. Have been using my Pulse Elite headset for 2-3 days now and I’m extremely impressed. And I wasn’t even aware of half the features you mentioned! The sound quality is fantastic and replaying TLOU Part II with this new accessory has been flawless. 10/10 purchase which I’d heavily recommend to anyone thinking about buying one.
Thanks so much! Really glad to hear you are as impressed with them as I am, and I'm super pleased I could show you some new stuff about it you didn't already know as well! :D The sound quality is truly top-tier for sure. I've been replaying the end of Act 2 of SM2 pretty much daily since getting these; can't get over how good the balance is between voices, sound effects and the soundtrack.
Are you wanting EQ for the best sounding and most realistic experience, or for the competitive edge? Just try the shooter preset if your wanting the competitive edge as I find that to be quite good already. You can tune it further from there too if you find there's still too much bass in gunshots or footsteps still don't stand out enough
@@Octorious I’m trying to get a competitive edge. With my pulse 3D‘s I was able to pin point where my opponents are. Now I can’t really tell how close they are, if they’re one or two levels above or below me. Which makes it super frustrating. The shooter preset + „which audio mode(CoD menu)“? Since they are also all very different.
They say that when connecting the elite via bluetooth with a mobile phone for example, the quality of sound in listening to music is not so good and the more you crank up thevolume the more distortion the base sounds. Is it true ?
Hi how do these sound for games also for sports games or are they trash I'm coming from the astro a50x and the audeze maxwell but there too heavy they give me a headache thanks stay safe and happy gaming to all
@@jamesstevens968 the sound is night and day compared to your arctis If youve never had plantar magnetic drivers than prepare to be mind blown Thats how it was for me bc i wasnt spending 300 bucks on a headset. As far as comfort yesterday i wore em all evening gaming then decide to try em with white noise as i slept. They were comfortable all night just foe me to hop back in hd2 early this morning for another 2 hour session. Its one of the best purchases i have made
Why is there a long type-C Cable? Should I connect the cable to both the console and joystick to get all the features_ mainly the 3D sound? What is the use of this long cable?
Got mine today. Very uncomfortable with PSVR2. Going to mess with them a little more to try and fine tune them. But so far I’m not impressed. Putting them under the VR, you can’t really bring the back side of the VR’s head band down to the proper spot to lock it in for one. For two, the VR pushes the cups into your ears making g them very uncomfortable after about 30 minutes. Over the VR headset and there’s a big gap where sound leaks out. Without the VR on, the weight is all in the cups and not enough tightness on the headband so they slide down. And if you tilt your head, they move around a lot. So there will be a lot of adjustments while in game. In 4 hours of use, I’ve had them drop connection 6 times and I’ve reset the adapter twice. I’m not impressed. Giving them another day or two because I really love the sound and want to keep them. But if I can’t get them where they work and are comfortable, they’ll be going back.
Loving this headset but my one criticism which also effected the older Pulse headset is the ear height calibration tool for the 3D sound. I can't tell the difference between a couple of the settings to find that sweet spot unless I play an actual game. I know it's not really a fault with either headset but more the software running on the console.
I think that's definitely a fair criticism! I too do have a game open when adjusting that setting that I can quickly go back to, as that is a more trustworthy method than the audio the system software itself gives you there. With that audio, I'm always between Type 2 & 3, but going into a game, it's clear that 3 does sound the best. Glad you like the headset though! :)
I got mine day one, and I love it! Question: What size screw did you use to mount it? I have a 7x7/16, and it's too big 😩 sorry if our sizes are different, btw.
Really glad you like it! In answer to your question, I actually haven't used a screw. I cut a piece of 3M tape to the perfect size so I could stick it to that part of my desk. I have all my cables directly on the other side of that part of my desk so drilling through would have been a huge mistake. All that said, the hanger fell off yesterday with the headset on it lol so I guess the amount of 3M tape of that strength used was not enough. I'll be trying some stronger 3M tape first, but if that falls, I will put in the extra effort to use the screw to mount it, and I'll let you know. My advice for the timebeing would take the mounting plate with you to your local hardware store, and physically put the screws through the hole to see which is the best fit. That's what I plan to do rather than ordering online. :)
Hello, I have a question. I have Hyperx Cloud Orbit S, I do not need a wireless headset, and I pay attention to the differences between Mobius and penrose in SOUND. And should I take Maxwell? And are Pulse elite sound the same compared to Orbit S?
I copped a pair of these myself!! They are overall incredible headsets. The only thing that im trying to figure out is why the headset will randomly disconnect. Bit of a set back when I'm in the mix of a game. Perhaps this is a bug and an update can easily fix this issue! Great video!
Thanks so much, glad you like it! Regarding that bug, I haven't experienced it myself but have spoken to others with it and we've come to the conclusion that it may be due to the PS Link adapter overheating and causing a connection dip very rarely. Few things to try: 1. Move it to the front USB port. 2. Make sure your PS5 has plenty of breathing room where the intake and outake vents are. The outake are at the back so hot air is blown straight on the USB adapter and if it's crammed, this air is going to get hotter and hotter eventually leading to a potential overheat on the adapter after prolonged sessions. I may be wrong with this, but that has tended to help people with the same problem. I have mine in the back of my console and it has a good bit of breathing room and have never had this issue properly, so that's my theory on what may be causing it as it happens with the explore buds too, which uses the same adapter.
Appreciate this thorough and well organized review! Unfortunately, my headset won’t be arriving day one, but excited to get my hands on it. That Astro figure is legendary, btw. Where did you land it?
I'm glad you liked the video, it means a lot! 😊 Sorry to hear yours isn't in your hands yet, but hopefully it will be soon! And aha thanks! The Astrobot plushie was a good buy for sure. It's from Fangamer I think if I remember correctly. 😊
I saw in Reddit that there is no feature yet seems like they don’t have that but hopefully we might get an update that allows us to change between chat /game volume
Thank you! You can change the chat/game balance either by: 1. Using the shortcut FN buttons on the Dualsense Edge. Hold down the FN key and then the left and right keys on the dpad to control the balance. (Up and down for volume). I did show both of these in the video but think you may have just noticed the regular volume one :) 2. Use the PS5 UI. Open the party chat card and then adjust volume of individual players, or the overall game/party chat balance. Can also be done in the sound menu on the quick panel. There is no direct way to do this on the headset itself.
Thank you! They do, but they fit different for different people so I can't guarantee it. For instance, I personally find they fit best if I put them on BEFORE the VR which is the opposite to what I did with the Pulse 3D aha
I think both are great! I love how the pulse explore are more portable and lightweight for use with the Portal & VR2, but I do really love the comfort, fit and sound quality from the Elite.
Hello! Nice video! Im trying the triple tap button to access the settings, but appears a block sign on the right top of the screen and dont go to settings page. Can you help me? Ty
Mate thank you for video , my usb adapter has no light on it , I'm lost only used a few times , now have to use wired to headset or wireless to portal , shouldn't need usb to connect to ps5 that's my downfall they should connect like the controller does . Maybe it does , it should . 👍
Thank you so much, this really does mean a lot to me to hear that! A lot of effort went into it to try to make it as good as could be, so I'm glad that paid off :) Thanks for the sub and if you get the headset, I hope you like it! :D
Unfortunately, you can only change the EQ on the PS5 for now, but once you do, those settings are saved on your PS5. You could always use a friend's PS5 to change the EQ if you want and then it'll save permanently when using it on PC (a pain I know, but a workaround until they maybe add a way to do this). For PC only though, they are great! I edited a good chunk of this video whilst wearing them and it was a great experience.
I imagine there probably are reasons for that on an audio level, but to me, the bigger size allows them to have better cushioned cups which is a huge improvement, and creates a more comfortable seal around where it meets your head to prevent sound leakage.
Thank you! Are you playing COD by any chance? I've seen a few people say that option is greyed out when playing COD specifically suggesting it's a bug with how COD treats game chat and is something they'd need to fix. If not, let me know and we can troubleshoot together. :)
Is adjusting the game audio and chat audio easy? I notice that those buttons are no longer on the headsets like on the pulse 3d. I'm asking cause I'm debating on this headset and the inzone 5
I bought mine on a whim and forgot they were coming out. I had the Audeze Sine and they were uncomfortable but had good sound. Ended up returning since they hurt too much but remember the sound quality and these do remind me of them but much more comfortable
Yeah they are really comfortable for sure! They'll remind you of the Audeze because Sony bought out Audeze and thus these were made in collaboration with the Audeze brand, using their tech. :)
Picked these up today. Great review. I have a pair of Pulse 3Ds which i have lovee but these are indeed on another level. The Link adapter now works with my Switch dock, too 😊
I don't have the steelseries so I can't comment directly on comfort, perceived audio quality etc, BUT I don't believe the nova 7P use planar magnetic drivers. The Pulse Elite DOES, and for sound quality, which is what matters most at the end of the day, planar drivers will produce better sound closer to the developers intentions 99% of the time. Hope that and the rest of the video helps. 😊👍
For me it is, i got these mainly for the mic but overall its an upgrade. I just bought my Pulse 3D when the PS5 "slim" came out in November. Now im stuck with 3 headsets out of 4. I had the PS4 Gold Wireless Stereo which i threw away, i kept the other PS4 Gold Wireless, PS5 Pulse 3D and now the Pulse Elite. Would make a nice decoration for a gameroom though.
Hey sorry for the slow response here! It should do yes, though I find it comfier and a better fit if I put it on BEFORE the VR which is admittedly a bit weird, but there's a perfect gap for it so maybe what was actually intended.
@9:38 you made an error i believe. The oulse elite pslink dingke doesnt have this kink button thats inly on the the oukse 3d. Kinda weird. Because for pulse ekite inneed to disconnect and reconnect the dongle when there is a connection issue
It really is weird how much extra detail there is audible when using these isn't it? Like I said, I'll absolutely be replaying games as a result of it. 😅 I'm glad you think the same and are enjoying them! I also have some XM4s, but they are primarily for travel and my PC for working due to the great ANC. I can't say I've ever really used them for the PS5 properly.
Gf ordered on amazon for me and they have been already delivered. Now I am at work and cannot wait to go home and unwrap these bad boys. Really excited.
@VanjulThakur Haha she deserves the happiness as a reward for getting them you. 😅😂 Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on them! :) A personal recommendation from me would be to replay the end of Act 2 in Spider-Man 2 with bass boost. Did that today and wow it sounded good!
@@Octorious actually I still haven’t purchased the second Spiderman. For the reason that it’s an amazing game but a very little playtime. Waiting for the prices to down to grab it. I am on the verge of finishing persona, 3 reload atm but guess I’ll test the headphones out on ghost of Tsushima :)
This is my second pair of these fell on me. I will stick to my pulse 3D. I know they're the first generation, but they seem the better option for now until Sony learns to release them like the first gen without scratches and scuffs out of the box and they fix the connection issue with the dongle as well as those like me who have experienced crackling and popping in one of the ear cups, which sounds like you're crumbling tin foil.
I was hoping to use this with the PS link for my PS5 and then use Bluetooth to connect it to my computer for gaming. It would be one at a time. Do you know if that takes an audio quality hit, or does it need a second PS link for that to work best?
PS Link would be far superior. Bluetooth audio is known to be very poor for gaming on most devices for both latency and quality (which is why PlayStation don't natively support it). On Windows especially though, Bluetooth audio is honestly abysmal. I'd absolutely recommend PS Link on both. I can't use Bluetooth with my PC at all with any headphones, always have to use a native adapter or an aux cord if I want no latency and good quality :)
Check the part of the video where I show how to pair it with a phone. You need to hold it for 8 seconds until you get blue flashing lights and only let go at that point and THEN scan. Let go on a different light colour or different noise, and it won't work. Make sure to follow my instructions carefully :)
I give mine a 9/10. My only complaint is it can get kind of spicy after several hours. I hope they come out with different fabric replacement cups in the future. But easily the best headset I’ve ever owned
I use two hangers for my Pulse elite, one that's included and the other that came with my gaming desk I do this to maximize the battery life of the headset, since I'm not entirely out of battery life after my gaming sessions I just hang the headset under my desk then when I almost run of juice I put in on the included hanging dock
Good point! :) It's universal compatability and ease-of-use is great! I did show the 3.5MM jack to imply this, but didn't want to mention competing platforms when PlayStation have helped make this video possible. 😊
@joeyn.9135 this too ^^. The 3.5mm does not send lossless audio like the link adapter does. [This is wrong] Edit: It does. What I should have said here is that you won't get tempest 3D audio when using the 3.5mm jack with other platforms, which will seem to have a negative effect on sound quality and immersion. The 3.5mm jack will still send lossless audio of course.
@Octorious 3.5 mm cables are absolutely compatible with lossless audio. I know you don't want to give any sort of nod to a competitive platform but this attitude absolutely destroys your credibility as a reviewer. I watched this video to get some info about the headset but as far as the review is considered, that part isn't worth a grain of salt. Just sayin.....
@adamsensenig5750 My mistake here, 100%! Replying to a lot of comments quickly and absolutely misspoke. The link adapter provides lossless audio wirelessly with minimal latency, as can a 3.5mm cable. What I SHOULD have said, and did mean to say, is that it won't sound as good because the elite is designed around tempest 3d audio tech which is proprietary PlayStation tech. It will still sound great with dolby atmos for headphones on Xbox, but it isn't something I have tried myself to make a genuine comparison.
Make sure you hold the button down for 8 seconds until you get a BLUE light flashing like I show in the video. Do NOT let go when any other colour light flashes or you hear another noise after about 4 seconds as that's actually the point to release the button to turn it off. Hope that helps!
For purely mobile use, I'd recommend you look at something else or perhaps the earbuds. The lack of touch controls on these for mobile controls will give others an advantage. However, speaking purely from pure audio quality, they still sound excellent with mobile devices via Bluetooth, and as mentioned in the video, EQ settings do carry over.
I been using the arctis nova pro for about a year now and it sounds really nice just the downside is there mic but you not the one hearing it so it ok :) and it will last a good couple years compared to PlayStation headphones 🎧 that usually last a year before it start to break But you have to mess with the EQ a bit to find the clearest sound for both headsets. And if you want to update the nova pro you need a window computer to download the GG Software for it
I can't compare to the arctic nova pros, but just speaking from experience with the Elite, COD sounds great! If you're aiming for realism, then bass boost EQ sounds excellent and as immersive as heck, but if you're wanting it for the competitve edge, then the shooter eq allows that too. You can finetune it even more to hear footsteps better, but the shooter preset itself does a very good job of that. I think you'll find them to be good for it! :)
Finally! Now this headset matches default xbox headset - no more headaches with impossibility to connect my phone to headphones and console simultaneously! Thank you sony, finaly ive got both missed devices for me - elite controller and handy headset
@@Octorious It’s made by skill series. It’s supposed to be $390. I have it. The only reason I don’t like that product is you cannot loyal, teammate voice endgame at all. I’m thinking about picking these up. I just place an order for tomorrow.
If you have the elite controller just hold down the function button and the cross pad adjusts volume and chat mix. Otherwise it’s volume only on the headset and mic is adjusted in menu
Is it just me or did Playstation remove the “Enhance Sound Quality” setting? Mine is not there and I do remember the setting being there and increasing the sound quality of the headphones.
I had the same issues. I sit about 15 feet from the console, and I have the PS5 Slim, which means the USB adapter has to be plugged into the back ports. I fixed the disconnect issue by running a USB extension cable from the back up to the front, so the adapter is in the front without interference. I hope this helps.
The headphones certainly ain't comfortable if you wear glasses. Plus mine like to disconnect occasionally. The planer magnetic drivers sound cristal clear, but the treble is very boosted. Which I'm sure can be fixed with the EQ. The mic is sub par, but the AI background noise canceler is incredible. Bass response is perfect if your not a bass head. All In all they are fantastic for the price. Shame they skimped out on a Aux cable that would have cost them 50 cents as well?
Also Another issue they addressed that no one mentioned is....on the old 3d pulse i know a few ppl had issues with turning the power on and off it rubs off the rubber on the earmuffs but these new pulse elite rubber cuffs are much more durable
It's definitely hard to properly judge without a year or more of proper use, but yeah, it does definitely seem like they are significantly more durable :)
The biggest downside to this is Sony removing the Voice Chat Audio/Game Audio buttons. That was the main reason I’ve been buying the PS headsets over any other headset all these years. I understand the buttons are gone but at least let me use my Dualsense Edge to adjust the sound between the two. That feature is just elite. Especially when you play multiplayer games and someone puts their mic on mid game loud af. That feature lets you raise the game volume and reduce the ingame chat volume which is amazing!
Better imo as the drivers are larger. I do think the explore sound excellent but I'm not a fan of how awkward it is to find the sweet spot until you do get that good audio quality. The elite you instantly get that great audio quality if you follow the tips I gave in this vid, and the level of each frequency is perfect for games, music and films. I think I'd choose these over the buds personally as they are cheaper too. I'll be using these with my PS5, and my buds with the Portal. 😊
I wonder how much it'd cost w/o the charging hanger. I am not drilling a hole just for a charger, so that feature is utterly useless to me. I'm sure there will be 3rd party stands, but that just solves a problem that shouldn't exist. The basic Pulse 3D's are more than adequate for my use.
You don't have to drill a hole if you don't want to! :) I've actually just used 3M tape on the back, but didn't mention this in the video as it's not the official method, so didn't want to be liable if it falls down and breaks. Mines been up for a week though and is showing no signs of coming down. 😊 I doubt the manufacturing cost is much for the hanger, so honestly it'd probably just be like £5 cheaper at a guess.
Hello. Can you please tell me if it was possible to customize them for PSVR2. I want to buy a headset and was wondering about the sound. I can't decide between PULSE 3D or ELITE. Have you already bought a PULSE3D ? How do you like them. I don't want to overpay 50 dollars.
Yes! :) I show this off in the video. Check the video chapters if you don't want to watch through the whole thing and look for the dual device connectivity sections and the one before it :)
Will you be getting the Elite headset? Let me know why/why not! 👇
Also, please consider subscribing if you enjoyed this video & want to see more PlayStation content. That's what I'm all about & I'm nearing 100K, so it is genuinely appreciated! 😊💙
The only reason I’ll purchase this is for FPS rainbow six siege for footstep and on these headsets, you’re able to lower your teammate volume in the game. That’s the news I purchased it.

I just got mine today in the mail. Big upgrade from the ps4 gold headset I've been using for many years.
Oh yeah that's a huge step up! Enjoy :D
I just brought the elites a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for the info given on them. I will be readjusting them on ps5.
@@TheColdest247 Yea, i bet the elites can be too cumbersome with the vr added…I ended up grabbing the explore just waiting for them to be delivered.
Hey! So sorry for the slow response. I really appreciate this a lot and am very glad you've found my coverage of the 2 devices to be among the best! So much effort goes in, so am super glad it pays off. 😊
I find both the elite and explore super comfortable.
Oh the shipment time sucks! It'll 100% be worth the wait though :)
If you can in your region, I would cancel and order from PlayStation direct, it looks like those will ship faster and it’ll still be free
If you just preorder directly from PlayStation, or anywhere else for that matter, they are supposed to arrive the day of release. The Amazon date kinda threw me off and I thought it was some sort of mistake
I just picked them up from my local target you should cancel and check target
I canceled my Amazon preorder and get it from bestbuy it’s getting delivered this Friday
@@Octorious I'm still saving up for one. First thing I'll be buying from my wishlist, that's for sure!
@m4rc3l0fl0r3s Well happy saving! I still stand by everything said in this video after a few months of use now; it's an excellent headset especially for the price. I'm confident you'll love it! 😊
Do you prefer these or the explore? In terms of comfort, practicability and sound quality? Thanks a lot and nice review.

Thank you so much, genuinely this means a lot 💙
Hi, thnx for the review! Is it better than Sony inzone h5? They are in the same price range right now and I wondering… thanks
How did I NEVER know that you can change the name of devices 😂
Fantastic video here dude.

I have the original pulse 3d headset. Does it have enough bonus features from the original to justify buying it?
I feel like to go through all of that would take me longer than if you just watched the video fully to be honest. 😅 I do cover this! 😊
But if you don't want to, then my short answer would be if you have the money, yes, for sound quality and comfort alone it is worth the upgrade imo, even ignoring all the other features it has I show off in this vid :)

Do you have EQ settings for Warzone? I can’t find anything anywhere….😩 I would highly appreciate it.
Would you say the bass is similar, better, or worse than the original Pulse 3Ds? Thanks.
Bass specifically is better - all aspects of the audio is a good step-up. I hope you find the video useful too :)
@@Octorious Thank u so much
They say that when connecting the elite via bluetooth with a mobile phone for example, the quality of sound in listening to music is not so good and the more you crank up thevolume the more distortion the base sounds.
Is it true ?
@MrSitallewal83 You can still technically use it even if it's retracted.
@MrSitallewal83its a negligible difference honestly
I cant wait. I ordered from ps direct and they will be here tomorrow. Im ready to see how big s difference it is from my steel series.

If youve never had plantar magnetic drivers than prepare to be mind blown
Thats how it was for me bc i wasnt spending 300 bucks on a headset.
Best video of this product that I can find so far! Thanks so much.
That really does mean a lot, so I'm really pleased you think so! Thanks for watching :D
Is such app available on PC?
Can you adjust the chat/gameplay to?
Appreciate your review. I like the look of these & will definitely be grabbing a set at some point soon. 👌🏼
Thanks, no worries! Glad you like the look of them. 😊 When you end up grabbing a pair, I hope you like them!
Nice video dear so do you recommend it?
Thanks! I believe I answer that towards the end of the video. :)
(But the short answer is yes)
I copped a pair of these myself!! They are overall incredible headsets. The only thing that im trying to figure out is why the headset will randomly disconnect. Bit of a set back when I'm in the mix of a game. Perhaps this is a bug and an update can easily fix this issue! Great video!
Thanks so much, glad you like it! Regarding that bug, I haven't experienced it myself but have spoken to others with it and we've come to the conclusion that it may be due to the PS Link adapter overheating and causing a connection dip very rarely. Few things to try:

Great video, I saw you changing the volume with the controller. How could you change the balance of chat/game?
Thanks!
I saw in Reddit that there is no feature yet seems like they don’t have that but hopefully we might get an update that allows us to change between chat /game volume
Thank you! You can change the chat/game balance either by:
1. Using the shortcut FN buttons on the Dualsense Edge. Hold down the FN key and then the left and right keys on the dpad to control the balance. (Up and down for volume). I did show both of these in the video but think you may have just noticed the regular volume one :)
2. Use the PS5 UI. Open the party chat card and then adjust volume of individual players, or the overall game/party chat balance. Can also be done in the sound menu on the quick panel.
There is no direct way to do this on the headset itself.
Does it fit with VR2? tks, great video
Thank you! They do, but they fit different for different people so I can't guarantee it. For instance, I personally find they fit best if I put them on BEFORE the VR which is the opposite to what I did with the Pulse 3D aha

Hola, que tipo de cargador usas para conectarlos por medio del gancho, usas el de algun celular en especifico?
is there any eq for pc ? and how they for pc only.... thanks
Interesting headphones through if they use a flat driver why are they still so big?
I imagine there probably are reasons for that on an audio level, but to me, the bigger size allows them to have better cushioned cups which is a huge improvement, and creates a more comfortable seal around where it meets your head to prevent sound leakage.
How did you get the chat option !? To game sound vs chat sound!? And also nice video 15:03

I’ve used it for GOW ragnarok and the bass booster doesn’t help 😔 sounds too light compared to shooter games feels like the aux option is best?

Which Audioformat du you use ?
Just got my elite and out of the box im disappointed how it sounds if compared with my old ps 3d headeet
Do you think i should get these or the steelseries nova 7??
I don't have the steelseries so I can't comment directly on comfort, perceived audio quality etc, BUT I don't believe the nova 7P use planar magnetic drivers. The Pulse Elite DOES, and for sound quality, which is what matters most at the end of the day, planar drivers will produce better sound closer to the developers intentions 99% of the time.
Hope that and the rest of the video helps. 😊👍
Is it worth the upgrade??? Because GameStop doesn’t want l my old day one 3d pulse headphones so damn ima have 2 headpuones

@@VanjulThakur That makes sense! :) I haven't tried Ghost with the headphones, but I'm sure it'll sound great 😊
This is my second pair of these fell on me.
Can you make a fix video because my pulse elite headset isnt connecting to my phone
That’s crazy I’ve been having the same issue
This is fair and a good approach for battery longevity! :)
Does the chat mix work with this headset?
Yes it does :) Works with the dualsense edge quick controls too as shown :D
What you didn’t mention is that headset is compatible with Xbox . You use the aux cable and turn the headset on. You can also use the mic like this.
Good point! :) It's universal compatability and ease-of-use is great! I did show the 3.5MM jack to imply this, but didn't want to mention competing platforms when PlayStation have helped make this video possible. 😊
the audio quality will take a dive though since you'll be getting compressed bluetooth audio into the xbox controller anyway.
@joeyn.9135 this too ^^. The 3.5mm does not send lossless audio like the link adapter does. [This is wrong]
Edit: It does.
I’m tryna connect the pulse elite to my phone but pulse elite is not coming up on my Bluetooth settings
Same problem
Try pressing and holding the button a little longer. I got it to pair finally.
Make sure you hold the button down for 8 seconds until you get a BLUE light flashing like I show in the video. Do NOT let go when any other colour light flashes or you hear another noise after about 4 seconds as that's actually the point to release the button to turn it off. Hope that helps!
@@Octorious thanks it helped btw
@@Octorious thx worked the first time I accidentally disconnected again when I press the button to turn it on I don’t see the green light flash
How do they sound with Android? Are they worth for cell phone alone?
For purely mobile use, I'd recommend you look at something else or perhaps the earbuds. The lack of touch controls on these for mobile controls will give others an advantage. However, speaking purely from pure audio quality, they still sound excellent with mobile devices via Bluetooth, and as mentioned in the video, EQ settings do carry over.
I’m torn between these and the steelseries artic nova pro? But the price for the nova is just to expensive !
What are these like for call of duty ?
I been using the arctis nova pro for about a year now and it sounds really nice just the downside is there mic but you not the one hearing it so it ok :) and it will last a good couple years compared to PlayStation headphones 🎧 that usually last a year before it start to break
But you have to mess with the EQ a bit to find the clearest sound for both headsets.
The steelseries arctis nova 7 p or 7 X , its almost the same price $160 and they sound amazing, and the sidetone is fantastic .
Finally! Now this headset matches default xbox headset - no more headaches with impossibility to connect my phone to headphones and console simultaneously! Thank you sony, finaly ive got both missed devices for me - elite controller and handy headset
Is it better than the skill series headset the one that cost $300 I will purchase this test too FPS games
I can't compare directly as I haven't used that, but as mentioned in the video, I think the Elite is excellent and you get a lot for the money.
@@Octorious It’s made by skill series. It’s supposed to be $390. I have it. The only reason I don’t like that product is you cannot loyal, teammate voice endgame at all. I’m thinking about picking these up. I just place an order for tomorrow.
Does this pulse elite headset have the MONITOR (Interrupt) function like the 3d pulse? Can the chat and game audio be adjusted?
If you have the elite controller just hold down the function button and the cross pad adjusts volume and chat mix. Otherwise it’s volume only on the headset and mic is adjusted in menu
Mine is arriving tomorrow!
Excited for you!! I hope you find the video helpful and informative, & enjoy the headset! :)
@@Octorious thank you! :)
Can you charge it with out puting it on the wall to charge it
Is it just me or did Playstation remove the “Enhance Sound Quality” setting? Mine is not there and I do remember the setting being there and increasing the sound quality of the headphones.
Definitely hearing things i havnt heard before
I just got the pulse elite and I was wondering whats better stereo mode or 3D audio and linear PCM or Dolby Atmos and which audio output to have
Dolby atmosphere for movies 3d audio for games
Did you have any disconnect issues? Mine keeps disconnecting. Super annoying. Seems to be a pretty widespread issue. Going to return them.
Mine gets in tomorrow. Looking forward to it!
I hope you're enjoying them! :D
How are these headphones with discord calls? Does it still block sound other than your voice?
Yes! The microphone noise cancellation is mostly done on-board on the headset and not via the PS5 software, so it'll work across everything. 😊
How’s the sound quality compare to the pulse explore?
Much better 3D Audio
Better imo as the drivers are larger. I do think the explore sound excellent but I'm not a fan of how awkward it is to find the sweet spot until you do get that good audio quality. The elite you instantly get that great audio quality if you follow the tips I gave in this vid, and the level of each frequency is perfect for games, music and films. I think I'd choose these over the buds personally as they are cheaper too. I'll be using these with my PS5, and my buds with the Portal. 😊
Great review
Thanks so much!
Are they on ear or over ear as the ear cups look small
The same as the Pulse 3D so over ear. The cups are quite large and should fit everyone :)
I might be late to the party but im getting mine on my birthday and im upgrading from a turtlebeach recon
I doubt the manufacturing cost is much for the hanger, so honestly it'd probably just be like £5 cheaper at a guess.
Hello. Can you please tell me if it was possible to customize them for PSVR2. I want to buy a headset and was wondering about the sound. I can't decide between PULSE 3D or ELITE. Have you already bought a PULSE3D ? How do you like them. I don't want to overpay 50 dollars.
Can you connect both pulse elite and pulse explore to the same usb link adapter.?
Yes you can! :) Not sure why you would ever need more than just the 2, but each link adapter can support 8 different connections.
Will the headset work on mobile?
Yes! :) I show this off in the video. Check the video chapters if you don't want to watch through the whole thing and look for the dual device connectivity sections and the one before it :)
Does it fit with PSVR2?
Yes. The headband has a lot of adjustability to it so it isn't uncomfortable at all when using them together.
Thanks!
Great video, Thanks ;-)
Glad you liked it! :)
