This run was a mess, and I loved every second of it.

I'm a bit disappointed that the runner didn't have a clue about the games story. You'd think that if somenone invest time to speedrun something that he might aswell make sure to know what the game is about. Good gameplay and entertaining commentary, though. Well done.
It's pretty common for speedrunners to admit they know nothing about the story for the game they run.

So is throwing a bomb into the Hades (the Hot Avenger) where Orion is sitting not quick enough? I remember that being an instant kill, and much faster than actually fighting him normally. I'm assuming there's a reason runners don't do this, and I'm just wondering why. Bomberman 64 was one of my favorites growing up, and I love seeing this speed-run! Great job on the run--even with all the hiccups! :P

I'm not sure you understand what "any%" means.
Not totally sure myself, but if i had to guess, the level after 5 is likely considered a "Bonus" stage, atleast by the Speedrun community, thus not required for any%

If you haven't beaten the rainbow stage you haven't even fought the real boss

Bomberman Hero is so much better than this shit.
Maybe just the soundtrack? Hero has no multiplayer, gimmick stages, bad story and bosses. It's just a side game between Bomberman 64 and 2nd Attack. It's overall really different gameplay too.
