The end solo to live forever makes the song more haunting! Also when it goes towards the end solo, and you do the 3-2 to open a, i am glad you actually do the bend on the 2nd fret before going open a. A lot of people don’t do that…
One of the finest Oasis Covers out there. Those subtles nuances and fills and the solo was so aptly played. This is amazing. Hats off. Love from India 🇮🇳
One of the few lessons on you tube that actually nails all parts of songs. Everyone does the chords and main solo....but the tone and licks and fills this guy does are magic, kudos brother
A lot of stairway to heaven in this song. Mostly the 3rd part of stairway where its more upbeat. Especially the Noel solo which is an incredible spin-off of the jimmy page solo and honestly i like Noel's version more. It just has this more melancholic, sadder, and darker sound. With that sort of "Gonna live forever" and the 3-2-0 fill sounds almost like "gonna live forever" and then the guitar says "no you wont"
Hi John - can't you remember from when you recorded it? ;-) The full settings and presets are available for Patreon supporters...so won't share all of the detail. The main tone is a couple of JCM800s with the mid pushed a little... a Tube Screamer with just a little bit of drive for the solo. Hope that helps!
That is tremendous. Thanks for the effort getting to it or not. You have one of the best TH-cam guitar channels and your tabs make a huge difference for a beginner like myself.
Hi there, Joao! Someone else asked this morning so I uploaded the presets and images (for those that don't have GR5). Just click on the link in the description. There are lots of slightly different settings because he played lots of guitar parts. Nothing special... but it sounded good! Hope it helps!
was there before...but finally can play this quick part now, just i play it slow in parts. i play it a little different with instead 16 on b, i start with 12 on e...its the same note but more comfortabl for me to play it.
People who bang on that Noel is too simplistic a guitarist please watch this and play all the licks and solos in exactly the same way he does! I'm sure you'll be saying different after attempting.
@@SparkyGuitar i mean he's no Joe Satriania, Kirk Hammet, Dave Murray (Maiden) or Jimmy Page but I think he's one of the greatest alt/indie guitarists out there (or he was in the oasis days, now he just plays open chords with a capo on everything). I would've put him up there with Jonny Greenwood.
I've just checked it by clicking through the video bar by bar... while listening to the original. It's correct. Not sure which version you're listening to....
@@SparkyGuitar not the chords the outro solo from 3.52 to 4.02 there’s one note different on the album version; Noel did play your version on live sets. Not good with music sheets as I play off ear but my autistic ear picks it up. Still a terrific version though, the main solo is superb compared to the many “attempts” I’ve seen 😊👏
Hi Herman... it’s a 1976 es-335. They fitted them with a coil tap switch (works with both pickups) so it’s really versatile. I think the colour is Wine Red. It’s a nice change from the usual Cherry Red!
@@SparkyGuitar cool, I had no idea. I just bought an es 339 a month ago. Absolutely loving it. Can play around with the tone all day and night. Great vid btw!
After they recorded it they would speed the tape up till it sounded “right”. That makes the song slightly sharp and you have to change the setting on your tuner to make it sharp. 440Hz is the frequency for an A note - the standard tuning reference note for musicians. 449Hz will just be somewhere between A and Bb. All good tuners have an adjustment option. Hope that helps!
If I was playing what they play live then completely agree. But the recoding is different - and I think a lot of the guitar parts were done by Noel. I think I used the original multi tracks for this and you can hear the difference.
When I play along on my acoustic to the record (and this vid), I sound out of tune...but in tune with all the other guitar lessons videos. I don't get it.

It’s awesome that Noel isn’t a guitar wizard, but he writes solos that go perfect with the song, nothing showy, just exactly what it needs.
