Did it in sunshine dry 60s. Wore Sketcher slip ons. 9+ miles. 3 knee replacements. Epicly good trails. Cover entire area. Wanted to crampon up a little but gave my gear away so saved from myself. I am all about going up the White River now. You can drop pack walk up river from lower trail. THE BEST OVERALL HIKING area I have seen. I worked at Yosemite Yellowstone Teton Rocky. BLM AZ STRIP. Yeah, amazing trails. Views. Pack like your mean it. Take food. Take the entire day. Out and back is a 10 miler. Down to river and back up is a marathon. If old. If 25 you can run it. Candybars and water. Air Assault.
This is the best bang for your buck on Rainier with such up close views of Steamboat Prow separating the Winthrop and Emmons glaciers. Also Curtis Ridge, Willis Wall and Liberty Ridge up to Liberty Cap. I spent a lot of time on Rainier this summer it's so fascinating. You'd also dig Observation Rock and Tokaloo Rock I'm pretty sure if you go back sometime. Cheers Matt!
Just did this on Sunday. My legs thought it felt like a lot more than 2600’ of gain lol. I need to calculate how much you lose between peaks and add that to the total 😂
Whole family is looking sharp in their sun hoodies and pants! I love seeing people being protected by proper clothing- the high alpine is no place for shorts and tank tops. That's a lesson I learned the hard way myself in the past 😂 I hope you share your Camp Muir hike! Did that one myself years back but have no photos, so it will be cool to see it again through your adventure.
I feel your pain! I got a little bone on bone going on in my knees. Take it slow and heal. Before ya know it you’ll be back out there! Thanks for watching and I’m glad you found the channel 👍🏼
I liked Rainier WAY more than I thought I would. That volcano can't be accurately described with words and the camera can't really capture the enormity. The following day was incredible!
It's low elevatoon if you have been in Sierras. Which is good. Hotter than you expect in summers. Mount David is your spot different White River over by Lake Wenatchee. To access PCT over there go from hwy 2 FS 6400. .9 off road to PCT. I go over Longs Peak Pass down Ingalls Creek over here. Ellensburg. Area. Glacier Peak Wilderness is real deal Cascades. Mount David. Watch Hikeart video. It's the real deal day hike. View.
Thank you! I shoot with a GH5 with a couple different lumix lenses. The girls have the newer iphones. The cameras in them are so good! I also have GoPro's for some POV shots in certain situations.
Man can i ask what day you guys did this? We did this hike august 10 2023 and the conditions look identical to the day we were here. It would be crazy if it was the same day haha!
Burroughs Mountain does have three peaks named First, Second, and Third Burroughs, but they are not "burroughs." Burroughs Mountain was named after John Burroughs, an American naturalist (late 1800s-early 1900s).

Did the 3 Burroughs twice. It is without a doubt a favorite of mine. I love being above tree line the whole time and enjoying the amazing views.
It was a great quick hike that gets you up close and personal to Rainier 👍🏼!

Good to know
Big John or Little John or Big Bad John.
Those 3 are a jaunt if over 65.
