- Mount Grinnell sits in the center of the Many Glacier area of Glacier National Park. From the famous Many Glacier hotel and the shores of Swiftcurrent Lake one can see Grinnell Point and what eventually becomes Mount Grinnell. Anyone who has been to Glacier or has done research before visiting the park has seen pictures of this famous and iconic mountain towering over the Swiftcurrent lakeshore. Climbing this yellow shale colored mountain is a must if visiting the area. There are multiple approaches but ours was directly from the south off of Grinnell Glacier Trail. The climbing itself wasn't that tough, ranging from class 2-3 with a hint of 4 depending on the route you decide. Once the top is reached it's a beautiful wide and easy ridge-walk to the summit. The views are some of the best in all of Glacier National Park!

The view of the rocks is amazing.
I know right! The color of the rock out there in Glacier always blows my mind 🤯🤩. I love that park!
Well that is now is on my bucket list! I climbed the garden wall and scrambled that one time. Was an absolute blast.
Yeah buddy! I think it's possible to down climb towards Grinnell Glacier Overlook from Mount Grinnell. After we got back down we hiked up to Grinnell Glacier and it looked as if it goes 👍🏼. Cheers!
I can't believe how fast you crushed it! "Animals". Happy New Year Matt. Rich
Thanks Rich! That was a great trip. Everything fell into place for us. Same to you sir!
Amazing I did the hike to upper grinnell a few years ago beautiful area great video and filling this is what god made us to do keep doing it guys.
Absolutely 💯!
Great stuff as always, Matthew!
Thank you sir! Your debut is very soon 😃
Great video 👍🙂
Thanks! Cheers!
thank you for always "taking" me to spectacular places I could never physically climb to!
My pleasure 😁! I’m glad you’re watching and enjoying them 👍🏼!
Epic! Not a vantage point you see shared very often from GNP. I've never even seen that route come up.
Yeah we really loved that adventure! We kinda winged that route a few days before we attempted it. We talked with a guy in East Glacier that said it went, so we went for it 👍🏼 !
I really enjoyed that ascent. Glacier has so many great ridge traverses too.
I agree, so many amazing options in Glacier!
Great work finding adventure (and relative solitude) in Glacier! What a fantastic way to enjoy that iconic location. Thanks for taking us along!
Thanks for watching! Fall in Glacier is hard to beat. The crowds are smaller, the weather is perfect and the colors are off the charts! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Wow!! Beautiful views at the top!! Amazing footage!
Thanks! I love that park! Cheers!
Hi Matt,Im a subscriber from sacramento,California thanks for taking us along.
When did you guys climb this?
Be safe always. Love it when your girls and wife are also with you.🎉
Hello all the way from Cali! We did that adventure in early September 2023 actually. We got incredible weather all week! 70's and sun 🤩. Thanks for watching, all the girls and a few new peeps will be popping up here and there in the next bunch of vids 😃.
Awesome! We'll be watching soon! Love all your videos. ❤
Awesome! I'm glad you enjoy them!
We were planning a trip starting July 4th. Would that be too early for these hikes?
It all depends on the winter snowfall amounts and the spring melt. Not to mention some routes will be more open than others depending on if the mountain is north or south facing. Unfortunately early July in Glacier will probably have a decent amount of snow in the higher elevations. We’ll usually go and check things out and sometimes you have no choice but to flip and head home. There’s no shame in being safe and still alive 👍🏼
Your video was truly beautiful and inspiring. As a fellow creator, I appreciate the effort you put into it. Sub and 👍115
