    I found your channel a few weeks ago and many of your videos have been really helpful. My dad and I are restoring/rebuilding a 1986 XR250R. We've finished the engine rebuild and are working on the shocks and brakes/plastics restoration. The bike should be good to ride in a couple of weeks. It was awesome we were able to get a good trail bike out of this project for a reasonable price, but the best part has been working on a project with my dad.

    I know this is super late on your video but I could use your help. I have an 89 CR250R that the front forks are shot on I believe I had them rebuilt cost me 1100 bucks and something still not right with them. My question is did you have to use the triple clamps from the 2004 CRF250R to complete the conversion on your 89? So I will be looking at purchasing 2004 front forks and wheel and possibly the triple clamps correct?

    • @TNTMOTO
      @TNTMOTO  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used the entire front assembly from the crf250.

    • @TNTMOTO
      @TNTMOTO  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just so you are aware. You will probably need to get the rear shock reworked as well as the crf forks were way stiffer causing a major imbalance to the suspension as a whole.

    Hello, I’m looking to install a new front end on my 1990 CR125 because my forks just aren’t doing it for me at this point but I love the bike. I’m not sure which front end donor bike to pull from because I’m worried about the stem length not fitting into my frame making the new front end no good. @@TNTMOTO how it says “This front-end conversion search is based on bearing inner and outer dimensions ONLY! Stem length may vary from machine to machine making some combinations unworkable.” Kinda worries me with recent years being so far developed compared to mine, maybe the stem length is too long to make it work? Thank you for the reply, I can’t find any info on stem length from my bike compared to newer years. Great video btw

    TNT MOTO I DESPERATELY NEED YOUR HELP! i have 2 89 cr125s both with the dreaded chain slap leaving the left hand cases a mess. Instead of doing a half ass fix iv been looking for a set of or even a good left hand case (intact).. Iv looked for ever an have been told the 89 cases are a one off year as i know 88-87 wont work.. I was told 89-97 would work recently by someone who seemed to know a thing or to. Can you shed any light on this for me. If you can you have no idea how much id appricate it. Thank you an keep up the goof work!

      @@TNTMOTO so i looked into it an figured it out. By the way thanks for getting back to me.. better late than never. 87-88 cases are compatible. Speaking on the 125s here. In 89 they went to a wider gear box so you cannot use 87-88 cases. Cylinders yes. Also found out i could use up2 a set of 97 cases if i wanted to with a couple small things that arnt much. These motors went the same for so long that the bottom end is basically the same except for the gear boxes ect. Also these 89s can use the breaks off up2 i believe an 02 cr125 making it get alot more bite. I finally did find a set that was mint for a deal then found a welder 5mins away that can fix anything and make it look oem so i have quite a few 89 cases now after buying broking ones a few times lol. I have a thing for the 89 as well. I came across a 89 CR250 recently with the rest of them collecting dust at the moment... I would really like to see some videos on your 125 in the future if you plan on doing any. Love your work always have. Thank you from Rhode Island
