Mike Kiedrowski, one of my favorite riders, won his first motocross championship on this bike.

Please do a history of the cr125! I loved them back in the day and at 62 am thinking about buying another to restore and ride just for fun. My 1st one was the 1976 model. Anyway keep up the great work!👍🏻

Tony, another awesome review and video. Having owned a raced a 88 Honda CR125 through 1990 to 92 in Phoenix Arizona Novice class (could not afford to buy new bikes but able to acquire a 1or 2 yr old bike). I agree with virtually everything you reported and your findings to be accurate and true. Current 125 ride is a 2017 KTM 150 SX, which in my older years I was able to buy new.
Please keep up the great work. Love your videos !!!
FYI - I Have been using Blenzall Castro oil in my 2 - strokes many years, NO Issues, Works Great (smells good too). I even add it when I want / need a little more oil in my RC car or RC airplane fuel.

They were perfect. The CRs were awesome all through the 90s.

I had a 89 CR125... Was a great bike. Damn thing had the nastiest headshake though.. Rode myself to a couple concussions.

Good job again! Love steel framed CRs so much I switched to a CR 500 to get a 1999, still have it😊 Had the 1992 CR 125 , I loved it despite harsh fork. No low end, some midrange and then rocket top end power!, they ran like this through 1997!. This all red look 1989 was racy, but I like the happy pink 90s look more.

It would be neat to see some history on some of the European brands or even a video on how Motocross developed into it's current state.

I would love to do one on Husqvarna and KTM but the info on them is a bit spotty at times. I have done a History of American motocross video you might enjoy. th-cam.com/video/Y8IaM3VYr90/w-d-xo.html

I had 86 n 88 cr125s. The 86 I liked best but the 88 was faster but the power was all top end. Never rode the 89 unfortunately. But having ridden the Suzukis Yamahas and Kawasaki's the Honda did so many things better. Handling n turning was better , the brakes were way better than the Suzuki for sure , you could brake way later on the CR. And the best part was working on the Hondas you could take the bike apart w 3 tools, a Philips head screwdriver and a 10 and 12mm socket. The YZs you needed a socket of 2 different sizes a screwdriver just to get to the air filter.!!! The ease of maintenance on the CRs were the best

The single biggest issue with Hondas suspension setups back then was putting springs in the bike that would barely hold the tire off the fender then use a valving stack that bubba would need for quad jumps. As soon as u took the .35 springs out and put .40-.42 in and turned the compression all the way out they were gravy and that’s still the case today for using them
In vintage events. The flex is pretty bad in the 43mm tubes tho

when the CRs hit - they were known for their power. The earlier CRs were the class of the field at that time. If youre looking for a bike to review - review the yamaha with the radiator on the front ...that thing jumped like a bus. they quickly went back to conventional radiators after that model..

  • @joshuasteel2109

Quite possibly the best 125 CR in the whole line.

Hey nice review on the 89 red rocket tiddler.....Its really weird I was just about to think of a new video idea that you could easily and readily put together with your vast collection of magazines and today on my main feed, mxa did a shootout test of exactly the thing I was going to tell you should do.....and that's whatever magazine Of your choice BEST BIKES FOR EVERY year shootout....so like u can do motocross actions shootout winners from 1976-2020, or whatever time frame is best suited to fit on a single video......u can do all displacements together or separate and I think if you made this video it may clear up a lot of questions that I'm sure you get on a regular redundant basis of which bike is best,... yada yada yada..... so one can watch the video and see if their bike is included in Motocross actions best bike of the year and can also help them decide if whatever bike they are restoring is worth it as they might have or be looking at a bike that won best bike for that particular year....... Then you can do dirt bike magazine best choices and possibly even cross-reference them.... Either way you can split it up and probably get a lot of content out of that main core idea..... I just thought it was really paradoxical or coincidental that my feed read my mind almost.....lol.....

I raced a 1990 CR 125. Best motor ever. But, you couldn't get the HEADSHAKE out of it. Best and worst 125 I ever raced.
