I'm Molly, a typical sushi, makeup, and fashion loving millennial girl who just so happens to be blind! Paying tax is NOT the same as insurance:
When you pay tax it doesn't matter if you need a massive operation or a few stiches, it's the same.
Tax is also relative to how much you earn, so if you have a low paying job, low tax

No it more like in those countries you they make up for the "free" health insurance with higher taxes. I'm pretty sure that's what hes trying to say but I'm not sure if that true or not because I've only ever lived in the united states

In other countries health is cheaper in general so is more affordable to everyone. There's no that much pressure of getting high profit out of it and insurance companies aren't there to take their cut.
Exactly! In New Zealand we have subsidized healthcare and our highest income tax level is 33%. There's absolutely no way I'm paying $700 towards healthcare every month. That would be about two thirds of my total tax bill, and I'm on the second highest tax rate.
Dr. Mike does note that healthcare in America is expensive, but $700 per month is crazy expensive!

For blind people, doctors make more of a choice to face the client to ensure they are looking and talking to the client, as you can hear when someone is facing you by the volume amd sound, especially to a blind person

I’ve watched Doctor Mike for so long, I mean YEARS.. yet this might be the most raw footage I’ve seen from him interacting with another person, and it’s making me realize just how confident, and charismatic he really is. Not afraid to get close to them, almost like he’s dating them, this is a thing he does with everyone, as many Doctor Mike fans will know, it’s really never just a specific person, it’s just how he interacts. I’m pretty sure he’s just a very personable person and had great communication techniques as a doctor! He makes sure to make his “patients” feel comfortable and etc.
Ok you guys think he’s being flirtatious but there is a high possibility that he’s just a really great human who is treating another great human completely normal. Yes he could be flirting but he’s just having a perfectly normal and comfortable conversation in my opinion.
its actually more than that. it something they teach to people caring for the blind. He's over exaggerating his attention to her to make people viewing their interaction as normal. and because when your blind your body over stimulates your remaining senses and blind people become very aware of head position based off of sound so not speaking directly to her, for some blind people the voice can sound distant or it sounds like the voice is traveling in a very tight band moving away from here in another direction. it boils down to curtesy.

That's a little high, but he may have a low deductible. I pay $450 for my single plan and have a $2000 deductible, which is what you have to pay out of pocket before insurance covers 100% of your expenses.

@@5amisntlate yes! It is absolutely insane. Our health insurance industry is basically unregulated and all privatized. The only way you get government health insurance (called Medicaid or Medicare) is if you are low income below the poverty line, a minor under 18 whose parents don't have health insurance, or elderly which is 65 or older. You also don't qualify for it at 65 unless you have worked and paid into Medicare for a certain amount of years. My mom didn't get it until she was 70 because when I was 10 she stopped working outside of the home and took care of my niece and nephew when my sister and brother-in-law were at work.

“I’m a doctor 700$ a month isn’t bad” lmaooo not when you make literally 1,000 a a month how you supposed to pay rent when your insurance is more than half your paycheck for the whole MONTH. I’d rather die.
700 is way too much. I pay about $60 a month for mine, my insurance qualifications had to do with: my financial situation, health history, age and a few other factors. I could've gotten insurance through my work, for $150 a month but it was only a slightly better deal for twice as much. Regardless the health insurance debacle in the US is way over complicated.
He has to pay medical malpractice Insurance so it’s going to be high. I have insurance through my job like most people in the United States. It can vary but I pay less than $50 a month.
I also am working as an intern... Am getyimg paid $2000 a month and took the company insurance policy which costs $130... I find it too costly... You guys know any cheaper insurance policy with some good coverage

1) Does it matter if Molly find Dr. Mike hot?? I'm not saying he isn't, he's definitely handsome, but like does it matter about his appearance that makes him a good person? Honestly, I they were dating or talking, I'd think she'll be dating him for his love and personality, not his looks. I wouldn't be surprised if they were actually dating.

Oh how I long for the day when his looks don't matter & it's all substance and information we are in pursuit of. It must be such a burden for him. I've only had a handful of marriage proposals from strangers and each one was the definition of Awkward. I definitely enjoy this duo and give it 👍👍. P.S. I never met an old person without toenail fungus. It just found you early Molly.

I like that Dr Mike captioned the mind body connection, and I strongly failed to understand this concept many years ago. Until I was in a situation where I had been the most stressed I’d ever felt, causing my back muscles to tighten. But thinking I had cancer, I was dying. I was unbelievably scared that I wasn’t gonna live a normal life again. I’d been to the ER dozens of times. It wasn’t til I saw my PC that she made that mind body connection, recommended anti anxiety/depression medication and in days I could feel the pain starting to subside. I haven’t lived in that state since. I’d caused my muscles to tighten and I couldn’t calm myself at all to let them relax. I can’t tell you how much ibuprofen, Vicodin, etc I took and nothing helped. I barely slept. I’m a new human being because of my PC.

Yay! Dr. Mike knows about Marfan! You have no idea how many doctors I've been to that when I mention having Marfan they've asked "could you tell me more about what Marfan does?" Or "I'm not familiar with it, could you tell me about it?" It's not even that rare, 1 in 5,000-10,000 have Marfan, and these doctors are often the ones who downplay symptoms I'm experiencing or give bad advice. So as soon as a doctor doesn't know about Marfan, I pretty much know I won't be seeing them again.

It’s kind of easy to forget! She makes what looks like eye contact really naturally. He was giving full eye contact bc she was when he’s more looking at her eyes than she is making eye contact with him. A lot of blind people don’t think about eye contact but she hasn’t always been blind so she did learn to look at people when they’re speaking
